第8章

1 書亞人必達曰、

2 爾所言如風之狂、伊於何底、

3 上帝無不正、全能之主無不義。

4 意者汝子犯罪、故主遐棄之、

5 如爾勤求上帝、乞恩於全能之主、

6 躬行仁義、皭然無玷、上帝卽佑之、使爾全家孳孳爲善、振興可必。

7 始雖卑微、終必增益、

8 我生無幾日、如影靡定、知識未擴、所貴乎博稽古昔、取法前人、

9 併於上節

10 彼將啟迪爾、以中所蘊藏告爾、

11 語曰、維彼萑葦、非澤可生乎、維彼蘆荻、無水能植乎、

12 青青之時、不待人刈、先百草而凋零。

13 忘上帝者亦若是、偽善之人、彼所希冀、倏忽成空。

14 其廬易圮、烏足恃、其業不存、奚以賴、與蜘網無異焉。

15 併於上節

16 惡者惟草、雖暴以烈日、亦復蔓延於圃、

17 根繞壘、藤緣石、

18 忽被芟除、依然隙地、杳無蹤跡。

19 斯人福命之短亦若是、其後草復叢生、與此無異。

20 行善者上帝不棄、作惡者上帝不佑。

21 爾善是務、則使爾喜樂、使爾歡呼。

22 憾爾者自生愧怍、喪德者室廬無存。

Chapter 8

1 Then answered6030 Bildad1085 the Shuhite,7747 and said,559

2 How5704 long5704 will you speak4448 these428 things? and how long shall the words561 of your mouth6310 be like a strong3524 wind?7307

3 Does God410 pervert5791 judgment?4941 or does the Almighty7706 pervert5791 justice?6664

4 If518 your children1121 have sinned2398 against him, and he have cast7971 them away for their transgression;6588

5 If518 you would seek7836 to God410 betimes,7836 and make your supplication2603 to the Almighty;7706

6 If518 you were pure2134 and upright;3477 surely3588 now6258 he would awake5782 for you, and make the habitation5116 of your righteousness6664 prosperous.7999

7 Though your beginning7225 was small,4705 yet your latter319 end should greatly3966 increase.7685

8 For inquire,7592 I pray4994 you, of the former7223 age,1755 and prepare3559 yourself to the search2714 of their fathers:1

9 (For we are but of yesterday,8543 and know3045 nothing,3808 because3588 our days3117 on earth776 are a shadow:6738)

10 Shall not they teach3384 you, and tell559 you, and utter3318 words4405 out of their heart?3820

11 Can the rush1573 grow1342 up without3808 mire?1207 can the flag260 grow1342 without1097 water?4325

12 Whilst it is yet5750 in his greenness,3 and not cut6998 down, it wither3001 before6440 any3605 other herb.2682

13 So3651 are the paths734 of all3605 that forget7911 God;410 and the hypocrite's2611 hope8615 shall perish:6

14 Whose834 hope3689 shall be cut6990 off, and whose trust4009 shall be a spider's5908 web.1004

15 He shall lean8172 on his house,1004 but it shall not stand:5975 he shall hold2388 it fast, but it shall not endure.6965

16 He is green7373 before6440 the sun,8121 and his branch3127 shoots3318 forth3318 in his garden.1593

17 His roots8328 are wrapped5440 about5440 the heap,1530 and sees2372 the place1004 of stones.68

18 If518 he destroy1104 him from his place,4725 then it shall deny3584 him, saying, I have not seen7200 you.

19 Behold,2005 this1931 is the joy4885 of his way,1870 and out of the earth6083 shall others312 grow.6779

20 Behold,2005 God410 will not cast3988 away a perfect8535 man, neither3808 will he help2388 the evil7489 doers:

21 Till5704 he fill4390 your mouth6310 with laughing,7814 and your lips8193 with rejoicing.8643

22 They that hate8130 you shall be clothed3847 with shame;1322 and the dwelling168 place of the wicked7563 shall come to nothing.369
