第1章

1 耶穌基督僕保羅、提摩太、書達腓立比宗基督耶穌聖徒、及諸督、執事、

2 願吾父上帝、及主耶穌基督、賜爾恩寵平康、

3 我緬懷爾、謝我上帝、

4 每祈禱間、歡然爲爾衆求、

5 緣爾自初迄今、共享福音、

6 知上帝始助爾爲善、迨耶穌基督臨日、必竣其工也、

7 我思爾固宜若是、爾與我共享恩寵、故心常念爾、縲絏在茲、明辯福音在茲、

8 我體耶穌基督心、戀慕爾曹、上帝鑒之、

9 我祈禱、欲爾仁愛智慧、日以滋多、

10 可辯異同、心純無礙、以待基督臨日、

11 賴耶穌基督集義之菓、彰上帝之榮譽、

12 我欲兄弟知我遇難、福音益以廣布、

13 我緣基督、陷於縲絏、遍聞營壘、隨在播揚、

14 宗主諸兄弟、因我縲絏、益毅然傳道無懼、

15 且傳基督道、而人媢嫉、朋黨者有之、善意者有之、

16 彼傳基督道、爲朋黨、非誠心、欲苦我於縲絏中、

17 此則出於仁愛、知我爲辯福音而用、

18 然則余將若何、凡事不論眞僞、有傳基督道者、我樂之、亦終樂之、

19 我知爾爲我祈禱、賴耶穌基督之神助我、我雖遘難、亦必受福、

20 我企望無愧、平昔諤諤、今而後、或生或死、基督將因我躬丕顯矣、

21 我生爲基督、死而獲益、

22 若欲使吾生於世、而結果是事、則可、然當何擇、弗顧也、

23 我際兩難之間、甚欲歸、與基督共在爲愈美、

24 但在世有裨益於爾、倍加切要、

25 我亦深知我必仍存、與爾同居、助爾樂於信主、

26 蓋我再至爾處、將使爾賴耶穌基督而增喜、

4 Always3842 in every3956 prayer1162 of my3450 for you all3956 making4160 request1162 with joy,5479

6 Being confident3982 of this5124 very846 thing, that he which has begun1728 a good18 work2041 in you will perform2005 it until891 the day2250 of Jesus2424 Christ:5547

7 Even2531 as it is meet1342 for me to think5426 this5124 of you all,3956 because1223 I have2192 you in my heart;2588 inasmuch1909 3745 as both5037 in my bonds,1199 and in the defense627 and confirmation951 of the gospel,2098 you all3956 are partakers4791 of my grace.5485

9 And this5124 I pray,4336 that your5216 love26 may abound4052 yet2089 more3123 and more3123 in knowledge1922 and in all3956 judgment;144

10 That you may approve1381 things that are excellent;1308 that you may be sincere1506 and without677 offense677 till1519 the day2250 of Christ.5547

11 Being filled4137 with the fruits2590 of righteousness,1343 which3588 are by Jesus2424 Christ,5547 to the glory1391 and praise1868 of God.2316

12 But I would you should understand,1097 brothers,80 that the things which happened to me have fallen2064 out rather3123 to the furtherance4297 of the gospel;2098

13 So5620 that my bonds1199 in Christ5547 are manifest5318 in all3650 the palace,4232 and in all3956 other3062 places;

14 And many4119 of the brothers80 in the Lord,2962 waxing3982 confident3982 by my bonds,1199 are much4056 more4056 bold5111 to speak2980 the word3056 without870 fear.870

15 Some5100 indeed3303 preach2784 Christ5547 even2532 of envy5355 and strife;2054 and some5100 also2532 of good2107 will:2107

16 The one3303 preach2605 Christ5547 of contention,2052 not sincerely,55 supposing3633 to add2018 affliction2347 to my bonds:1199

17 But the other of love,26 knowing1492 that I am set2749 for the defense627 of the gospel.2098

18 What5101 then?1063 notwithstanding,4133 every3956 way,5158 whether1535 in pretense,4392 or1535 in truth,226 Christ5547 is preached;2605 and I therein1722 5129 do rejoice,5463 yes,235 and will rejoice.5463

19 For I know1492 that this5124 shall turn576 to my salvation4991 through1223 your5216 prayer,1162 and the supply2024 of the Spirit4151 of Jesus2424 Christ,5547

20 According2596 to my earnest603 expectation603 and my hope,1680 that in nothing3762 I shall be ashamed,153 but that with all3956 boldness,3954 as always,3842 so now3568 also2532 Christ5547 shall be magnified3170 in my body,4983 whether1535 it be by life,2222 or1535 by death.2288

21 For to me to live2198 is Christ,5547 and to die599 is gain.2771

27 Only3440 let your conversation4176 be as it becomes516 the gospel2098 of Christ:5547 that whether1535 I come2064 and see1492 you, or1535 else be absent,548 I may hear191 of your5216 affairs,4012 that you stand4739 fast in one1520 spirit,4151 with one3391 mind5590 striving4866 together4866 for the faith4102 of the gospel;2098

28 And in nothing3367 terrified4426 by your3588 adversaries:480 which3748 is to them an evident1732 token1732 of perdition,684 but to you of salvation,4991 and that of God.2316

29 For to you it is given5483 in the behalf5228 of Christ,5547 not only3440 to believe4100 on1519 him, but also2532 to suffer3958 for his sake;
