Kapitel 33

1 Manasse4519 war zwölf6240 Jahre8141 alt1121, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete fünfundfünfzig2568 Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389;

2 und tat, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel, nach den6440 Greueln8441 der Heiden1471, die der HErr3068 vor5869 den Kindern1121 Israel3478 vertrieben3423 hatte6213.

3 Und1129 kehrete sich6965 um7725 und bauete die Höhen1116 die sein5647 Vater1 Hiskia3169 abgebrochen hatte5422, und stiftete Baalim1168 Altäre4196 und machte6213 Haine842 und betete7812 an allerlei Heer6635 am Himmel8064 und dienete ihnen.

4 Er1129 bauete auch Altäre4196 im Hause1004 des HErrn3068, davon der HErr3068 geredet hat559: Zu Jerusalem3389 soll mein Name8034 sein ewiglich5769.

5 Und1129 bauete Altäre4196 allerlei Heer6635 am Himmel8064 in beiden8147 Höfen2691 am Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

6 Und1121 er ließ seine Söhne1121 durchs Feuer784 gehen5674 im Tal1516 des Sohns Hinnoms2011 und6213 wählte Tage6049 und achtete auf Vogelgeschrei5172 und zauberte3784 und stiftete Wahrsager178 und Zeichendeuter3049 und tat5674 viel7235, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel, ihn5869 zu6213 erzürnen3707.

7 Er setzte7760 auch Bilder6459 und430 Götzen5566, die er machen6213 ließ, ins Haus1004 Gottes430, davon der HErr David1732 geredet hatte559 und Salomo8010, seinem Sohn1121: In diesem Hause1004 zu Jerusalem3389, die ich erwählet habe977 vor allen Stämmen7626 Israels3478, will ich meinen Namen8034 setzen7760 ewiglich5865;

8 und5921 will nicht3254 mehr den Fuß Israels3478 lassen weichen vom Lande127, das ich ihren Vätern1 bestellet habe5975, sofern sie5493 sich3027 halten8104, daß518 sie7272 tun4941 alles, was ich ihnen geboten6680 habe6213, in allen Gesetzen8451, Geboten und Rechten2706 durch Mose4872.

9 Aber Manasse4519 verführete Juda3063 und die3427 zu Jerusalem3389, daß sie8582 ärger7451 taten denn die Heiden1471, die der HErr3068 vor6440 den Kindern1121 Israel3478 vertilget hatte6213.

10 Und wenn der HErr3068 mit Manasse4519 und seinem Volk5971 reden1696 ließ, merkten7181 sie nichts drauf.

11 Darum ließ der HErr3068 über sie kommen935 die Fürsten8269 des Heers des Königs4428 zu Assur804; die nahmen3920 Manasse4519 gefangen631 mit Fesseln2336 und5178 banden ihn mit Ketten und brachten3212 ihn gen Babel894.

12 Und da er in der Angst6887 war, flehete er vor6440 dem HErrn3068, seinem GOtt430, und demütigte3665 sich sehr3966 vor dem GOtt430 seiner Väter1,

13 und bat6419 und flehete ihn. Da erhörete er sein Flehen6279 und brachte ihn wieder7725 gen Jerusalem3389 zu8085 seinem Königreich4438. Da erkannte3045 Manasse4519, daß der HErr3068 GOtt430 ist.

14 Danach bauete er1129 die äußersten Mauern2346 an der Stadt5892 Davids1732 von abendwärts4628 an Gihon1521 im Bach5158, und935 da310 man zum8179 Fischtor1709 eingehet, und2428 umher5437 an Ophel6077 und machte7760 sie sehr3966 hoch1361; und, legte Hauptleute8269 in die festen1219 Städte5892 Judas.

15 Und tat5493 weg die fremden5236 Götter430 und die Götzen5566 aus2351 dem Hause1004 des HErrn3068 und alle Altäre4196, die er1129 gebauet hatte auf dem Berge2022 des Hauses1004 des HErrn3068 und zu Jerusalem3389; und warf7993 sie hinaus vor die Stadt5892.

16 Und559 richtete zu den Altar4196 des HErrn3068 und opferte2076 drauf Dankopfer8002 und Lobopfer2077; und befahl Juda3063, daß sie1129 dem HErrn3068, dem GOtt430 Israels3478, dienen5647 sollten.

17 Doch61 opferte2076 das Volk5971 auf den Höhen1116, wiewohl dem HErrn3068, ihrem GOtt430.

18 Was aber mehr von Manasse4519 zu sagen ist, und3499 sein Gebet8605 zu seinem GOtt430, und die Rede1697 der Schauer, die mit1697 ihm redeten1696 im Namen8034 des HErrn3068, des Gottes430 Israels3478, siehe, die sind unter den Geschichten1697 der Könige4428 Israels3478.

19 Und sein Gebet8605 und Flehen6279 und alle seine Sünde2403 und Missetat4604 und die Stätte4725, darauf er1129 die Höhen1116 bauete und Haine842 und Götzen6456 stiftete5975, ehe denn er gedemütiget ward3665, siehe, die sind3789 geschrieben, unter6440 den Geschichten1697 der Schauer.

20 Und Manasse4519 entschlief7901 mit seinen Vätern1, und sie begruben6912 ihn in seinem Hause1004. Und sein Sohn1121 Amon526 ward König4427 an seiner Statt.

21 Zweiundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141 alt1121 war Amon, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete zwei8147 Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389.

22 Und tat, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel, wie sein5647 Vater1 Manasse4519 getan6213 hatte6213. Und Amon526 opferte2076 allen Götzen6456, die sein Vater1 Manasse4519 gemacht hatte6213, und dienete ihnen5869.

23 Aber er demütigte3665 sich nicht vor6440 dem HErrn3068, wie sich sein Vater1 Manasse4519 gedemütiget hatte; denn er, Amon526, machte der Schuld819 viel7235.

24 Und seine Knechte5650 machten einen Bund7194 wider ihn und töteten4191 ihn in seinem Hause1004.

25 Da schlug5221 das776 Volk5971 im Lande alle, die den Bund wider den König4428 Amon526 gemacht7194 hatten. Und4427 das776 Volk5971 im Lande machte4427 Josia2977, seinen Sohn1121, zum Könige an seiner Statt.

Chapter 33

1 MANASSEH was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty-five years in Jerusalem;

2 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LOAD, according to the works of the nations which the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

3 For he built again the altars which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he built shrines for the idols and made images of leopards, and worshipped them.

4 Moreover he worshipped all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

5 And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.

6 And he also caused his son to pass through the fire in the great valley; and he practiced augury and soothsaying and sorcery, and inquired of the Chaldeans and of familiar spirits; and he did much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.

7 And he set the image of the idol which had four faces, which he had made, in the house of the LORD, of which the LORD had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen for myself out of all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever;

8 Neither will I any more remove the children of Israel from this land which I have given to their fathers; if only they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and my statutes and my ordinances which my servant Moses commanded them.

9 So Manasseh caused Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to go astray and to do evil works like the nations which the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.

10 And the LORD spoke to Manasseh and to his people; but they would not hearken.

11 Therefore the LORD brought against them the commanders of the army of the king of Assyria, who captured Manasseh alive and bound him with chains and carried him to Babylon.

12 But when he was in distress, he prayed before the LORD his God and reverenced greatly the LORD God of his fathers,

13 And he prayed before the LORD, and he heard his voice and heard his prayer, and brought him back to Jerusalem into his kingdom. Then Manasseh knew that the LORD was God.

14 Now after this he built an outer wall to the city of David on the west side of the brook of Gihon to the entrance of the fish gate, and encircled the whole of Jerusalem with an outer wall and raised it up a very great height, and he appointed commanders of the army in all the fortified cities of Judah.

15 And he took away the strange gods and the idols out of the house of the LORD, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the LORD and in Jerusalem, and cast them out of the city.

16 And he built an altar to the LORD, and sacrificed upon it burnt offerings and peace offerings and thank offerings, and commanded Judah to keep the feast to the LORD God of Israel;

17 And not to sacrifice again to strange gods, nor to offer burnt offerings to them, but before the LORD their God only.

18 Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh and his prayer to his God and the words of the prophets who prophesied concerning him in the name of the LORD God of Israel, behold, they are written in the Book of the Kings of Israel and Judah.

19 His prayer, also, and how the LORD heard his voice, and all his sins and his iniquity, and the places on which he built altars and appointed priests, and the shrines he built for the idols, behold, they are written among the sayings of Hanan the prophet.

20 So Manasseh slept with his fathers, and they buried him in his own house, in the garden of the treasury; and Arnon his son reigned in his stead.

21 And Amon was twenty-two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem.

22 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, as Manasseh his father had done; for Arnon sacrificed to all the images and idols which Manasseh his father had made and worshipped them;

23 And he did not humble himself before the LORD his God, as Manasseh humbled himself before the LORD his God; but Amon committed sins more and more.

24 And his servants conspired against him and slew him in his own house.

25 But the people of the land slew all those who had conspired against King Arnon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.
