2 Kings

Chapter 23

1 AND the king sent and they gathered to him all the elders of Judah and of Jerusalem.

2 And the king went up to the house of the LORD, and all the men of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem with him, and the priests and the prophets and all the people, both small and great; and he read before them all the words of the book of the covenant which was found in the house of the LORD.

3 And the king stood by a pillar and made a covenant before the LORD, to walk after the LORD and to keep his commandments and his testimonies and his statutes with all their heart and all their soul, to perform the words of this covenant that were written in this book. And all the people agreed to the covenant.

4 Then the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest and the priests of the second order and the keepers of the doors to bring forth out of the temple of the LORD all the vessels that were made for Baal and for the idols and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Beth-el.

5 And he slew the priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places round about Jerusalem, and those also who burned incense to Baal, to the sun and to the moon and to the planets and to all the host of heaven.

6 And he brought out the idol from the house of the LORD, outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron and burned it at the brook Kidron, and ground it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves of the common people.

7 And he destroyed the houses of the Sodomites which were in the house of the LORD, and the houses of the women who wove hangings for the idols.

8 And he brought all the priests out of the cities of Judah and defiled the high places where the priests had burned incense in them, from Dan to Beer-sheba, and destroyed the shrine which was at the entrance of the gate of Salvation which was on a man's left hand at the gate of the city.

9 Nevertheless the priests of the high places did not come up to the altar of the LORD in Jerusalem, but they did eat of the unleavened bread with their brethren.

10 And he destroyed the high places which the kings of Judah had made in Taphath, which is in the valley of Bar-hannom, that no man might make his son or his daughter to pass through the fire to Amlech.

11 And he slew the horses which the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan the king's eunuch, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariot of the sun with fire.

12 And the altar that was on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and broke them down from thence and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.

13 And the high places that were before Jerusalem, which were on the right hand of the mount of Corruption, which Solomon the king of Israel had built for Ashtoreth, the goddess of the Zidonians, and for Chemosh, the idol of Moab, and for Malcom, the idol of the children of Ammon, did King Josiah destroy.

14 And he broke in pieces the images and cut down the idols and filled their places with the bones of men.

15 Moreover the altar that was at Beth-el and the high places which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he demolished, and burned the high place and ground it to dust and burned the idols.

16 And as Josiah returned, he saw the sepulchres that were there on the mount, and he sent and took the bones out of the sepulchres and burned them upon the altar and defiled it, according to the word of the LORD which the prophet of God proclaimed, who predicted these things.

17 Then the king said, What monument is that which I see? And the men of the city said to him, It is the sepulchre of the prophet of God, who came from Judah and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Beth-el.

18 And he said, Let him alone; let no man touch his sepulchre, and let no man move his bones, so the bones of the prophet of God spared the bones of the prophet who came from Samaria from being burned.

19 And all the temples also of idols that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah removed, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth-el.

20 And he slew all the priests of the high places, who burned incense upon the altars and burned men's bones upon them, and he returned to Jerusalem.

21 And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover to the LORD your God. as it is written in the book of this covenant.

22 Surely no such a passover had been kept from the days of the judges who judged Israel nor in all the days of the kings of Israel nor of the kings of Judah,

23 Like that in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, when this passover was kept to the LORD in Jerusalem.

24 Moreover the men with familiar spirits and the wizards and the images and the idols and all the abominations that were seen in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem did Josiah put away, that he might perform the words of the law which were written in the book that Hilkiah the priest found in the house of the LORD.

25 And like unto him was there no king before him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all that which is written in the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.

26 Nevertheless the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of his great wrath wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked him.

27 And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.

28 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

29 In his days Pharaoh the Lame, king of Egypt went up against Mabog which is by the river Euphrates; and King Josiah went to meet him, to fight against him; and Pharaoh said to him, I have not come against you, turn aside from me; but Josiah did not listen to him; so Pharaoh smote him at Megiddo, when he saw him there.

30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him there in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in his father's stead.

31 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

32 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, just as Manasseh had done.

33 And Pharaoh the Lame, king of Egypt put him in bands at Diblath in the land of Hamath, when Pharaoh took over Jerusalem; and levied on the land a tribute of one hundred talents of silver and ten talents of gold.

34 And Pharaoh the Lame made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim, and he took Jehoahaz away, and brought him to Egypt and he died there.

35 And Jehoiakim gave the silver and gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money as he was commanded by Pharaoh; he exacted silver and gold from the people of the land, of every one according to his means, to give it to Pharaoh the Lame.

36 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Peraiah of Ramtha.

37 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.

Kapitel 23

1 Und der König4428 sandte7971 hin, und es versammelten622 sich zu ihm alle Ältesten2205 in Juda3063 und Jerusalem3389.

2 Und376 der König4428 ging5927 hinauf ins Haus1004 des HErrn3068, und3548 alle Männer von Juda3063 und5612 alle Einwohner3427 zu Jerusalem3389 mit ihm, Priester und Propheten5030 und alles Volk5971, beide klein6996 und groß1419; und man7121 las vor ihren Ohren241 alle Worte des Buchs vom Bunde1285, das1697 im Hause1004 des HErrn3068 gefunden war4672.

3 Und der König4428 trat5975 an eine Säule5982 und machte3772 einen Bund1285 vor6440 dem HErrn3068, daß sie sollten wandeln3212 dem HErrn3068 nach310 und halten8104 seine Gebote4687, Zeugnisse5715 und Rechte2708 von ganzem Herzen3820 und von ganzer See LE5315, daß sie aufrichteten6965 die Worte dieses Bundes1285, die geschrieben3789 stunden in diesem Buch5612. Und alles1697 Volk5971 trat5975 in den Bund.

4 Und3548 der König4428 gebot6680 dem Hohenpriester1419 Hilkia2518 und den Priestern3548 der andern Ordnung und den Hütern an5375 der Schwelle5592, daß sie8104 sollten aus3318 dem Tempel1964 des HErrn3068 tun6213 alles3627 Gezeug, das dem Baal1168 und dem Hain842 und allem Heer6635 des Himmels8064 gemacht war4932. Und verbrannten8313 sie außen vor2351 Jerusalem3389 im Tal7709 Kidron6939; und ihr Staub6083 ward getragen gen Bethel.

5 Und er tat5414 ab die Kamarim, welche die Könige4428 Judas hatten gestiftet, zu räuchern6999 auf7673 den Höhen1116 in den Städten5892 Judas und um4524 Jerusalem3389 her, auch die Räucherer6999 des Baal1168 und der Sonne8121 und des Mondes3394 und der Planeten4208 und alles Heers am Himmel8064.

6 Und1121 ließ den Hain842 aus3318 dem Hause1004 des HErrn3068 führen hinaus vor2351 Jerusalem3389 in den Bach5158 Kidron6939, und verbrannten8313 ihn im Bach5158 Kidron6939 und machte1854 ihn zu Staub6083; und warf7993 den Staub6083 auf die Gräber6913 der gemeinen Leute5971.

7 Und er brach ab5422 die Häuser1004 der Hurer6945, die an dem Hause1004 des HErrn3068 waren, darinnen die Weiber802 wirkten707 Häuser1004 zum Hain842.

8 Und3548 er376 ließ kommen alle Priester aus den Städten5892 Judas und3548 verunreinigte die Höhen1116, da die Priester räucherten, von Geba1387 an6999 bis gen Berseba; und5892 brach ab5422 die Höhen1116 in den Toren8179, die in der Tür6607 des Tors8179 waren935 Josuas3091, des Stadtvogts, welches war2930 zur Linken8040, wenn man zum Tor8179 der Stadt5892 gehet.

9 Doch hatten die Priester3548 der Höhen1116 nie geopfert auf5927 dem Altar4196 des HErrn3068 zu Jerusalem3389, sondern aßen398 des ungesäuerten4682 Brots unter8432 ihren Brüdern251.

10 Er376 verunreinigte2930 auch das Thopheth8612 im Tal1516 der Kinder1121 Hinnom2011, daß1323 niemand seinen Sohn1121 oder seine Tochter1121 dem Molech durchs Feuer784 ließe gehen5674.

11 Und8313 tat ab7673 die Rosse5483, welche die Könige4428 Judas hatten der Sonne8121 gesetzt5414 im Eingange des HErrn3068 Hauses1004 an der Kammer3957 Nethan-Melechs5419, des Kämmerers5631, der zu Parwarim6503 war935; und die Wagen4818 der Sonne8121 verbrannte er mit Feuer784.

12 Und die Altäre4196 auf dem Dache1406 im Saal Ahas271, die die Könige4428 Judas gemacht hatten6213, und die Altäre4196, die Manasse4519 gemacht hatte6213 in den zweien Höfen2691 des HErrn3068 Hauses1004, brach der König4428 ab5422; und lief7323 von dannen und warf7993 ihren Staub6083 in den Bach5158 Kidron6939.

13 Auch die Höhen1116, die vor6440 Jerusalem3389 waren, zur Rechten3225 am Berge2022 Mashith, die Salomo8010, der König4428 Israels3478, gebauet hatte Asthoreth6253, dem Greuel8251 von Zidon, und1129 Kamos3645, dem Greuel8251 von Moab4124, und Milkom4445, dem Greuel8441 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983, verunreinigte2930 der König4428.

14 Und4390 zerbrach7665 die Säulen4676 und rottete aus3772 die Haine und füllete ihre Stätte4725 mit Menschenknochen6106.

15 Auch den Altar4196 zu Bethel, die Höhe1116, die Jerobeam3379 gemacht hatte, der Sohn1121 Nebats5028, der Israel3478 sündigen2398 machte6213, denselben Altar4196 brach er ab5422 und8313 die Höhe1116; und8313 verbrannte die Höhe1116 und machte1854 sie zu Staub6083 und verbrannte den Hain842.

16 Und8313 Josia2977 wandte sich6437 und sah7200 die Gräber6913, die da waren auf3947 dem Berge2022; und sandte hin und ließ7971 die Knochen6106 aus den Gräbern6913 holen und verbrannte sie7121 auf dem Altar4196 und verunreinigte2930 ihn nach dem Wort1697 des HErrn3068, das1697 der Mann376 Gottes430 ausgerufen hatte7121, der solches ausrief.

17 Und er sprach559: Was ist das1975 für ein376 Grabmal6725, das1697 ich sehe7200? Und die Leute582 in der Stadt5892 sprachen559 zu ihm: Es ist das Grab6913 des Mannes Gottes430, der von Juda3063 kam935 und rief7121 solches aus, das du getan6213 hast, wider den Altar4196 zu Bethel.

18 Und er376 sprach559: Laßt ihn3240 liegen; niemand bewege5128 seine Gebeine6106! Also wurden seine Gebeine6106 errettet4422 mit den Gebeinen6106 des Propheten5030, der von Samaria8111 kommen war935.

19 Er2977 tat5493 auch weg alle Häuser1004 der Höhen1116 in den Städten5892 Samarias8111, welche die Könige4428 Israels3478 gemacht4639 hatten zu erzürnen3707; und tat6213 mit ihnen allerdinge, wie er zu Bethel getan6213 hatte6213.

20 Und3548 er opferte2076 alle Priester der120 Höhen1116, die daselbst waren, auf den Altären4196; und8313 verbrannte also Menschenbeine drauf. Und kam wieder7725 gen Jerusalem3389.

21 Und6213 der König4428 gebot6680 dem Volk5971 und sprach559: Haltet dem HErrn3068, eurem GOtt430, Passah6453, wie geschrieben3789 stehet im Buch5612 dieses Bundes1285.

22 Denn es war kein Passah6453 so8199 gehalten, als dieses, von der Richter8199 Zeit3117 an, die Israel3478 gerichtet haben, und6213 in allen Zeiten3117 der Könige4428 Israels3478 und der Könige4428 Judas,

23 sondern im achtzehnten6240 Jahr8141 des Königs4428 Josia2977 ward dies Passah6453 gehalten dem HErrn3068 zu6213 Jerusalem3389.

24 Auch fegte1197 Josia2977 aus alle Wahrsager178, Zeichendeuter3049, Bilder und3548 Götzen8655 und alle Greuel8251, die im Lande Juda3063 und zu Jerusalem3389 ersehen7200 wurden, auf6965 daß er aufrichtete die Worte1697 des Gesetzes8451, die geschrieben3789 stunden im Buch5612, das776 Hilkia2518, der Priester, fand4672 im Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

25 Sein gleichen war vor ihm6965 kein König4428 gewesen, der so3966 von ganzem Herzen3824, von ganzer See LE5315, von allen Kräften sich7725 zum HErrn3068 bekehrete nach310 allem Gesetz8451 Moses4872; und nach ihm kam sein gleichen nicht auf6440.

26 Doch kehrete sich der HErr3068 nicht639 von dem Grimm2740 seines großen1419 Zorns639, damit er über Juda3063 erzürnet3707 war2734 um7725 aller der Reizungen willen3708, damit ihn Manasse4519 gereizet hatte.

27 Und der HErr3068 sprach559: Ich will Juda3063 auch von6440 meinem Angesicht tun5493, wie ich Israel3478 weggetan habe977; und will diese Stadt5892 verwerfen3988, die8034 ich erwählet hatte, nämlich Jerusalem3389 und das Haus1004, davon ich gesagt559 habe: Mein Name soll daselbst sein.

28 Was aber mehr von Josia2977 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alles, was er getan6213 hat, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Judas.

29 Zu seiner Zeit3117 zog5927 Pharao-Necho6549, der König4428 in Ägypten4714, herauf wider den König4428 von Assyrien804 an7200 das Wasser5104 Phrath. Aber der König4428 Josia2977 zog3212 ihm entgegen7125 und starb4191 zu Megiddo4023, da er ihn gesehen hatte.

30 Und seine Knechte5650 führeten ihn7392 tot4191 von Megiddo4023 und brachten935 ihn gen Jerusalem3389 und begruben6912 ihn in seinem Grabe6900. Und das776 Volk5971 im Lande nahm3947 Joahas3059, den Sohn1121 Josias2977, und salbeten ihn und machten4427 ihn zum Könige an seines Vaters1 Statt.

31 Dreiundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141 war Joahas3059 alt1121, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete drei7969 Monden2320 zu Jerusalem3389. Seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Hamutal2537, eine Tochter1323 Jeremias von Libna3841.

32 Und tat6213, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, wie seine Väter1 getan6213 hatten.

33 Aber Pharao-Necho6549 fing ihn zu Riblath im Lande776 Hemath, daß er5414 nicht regieren sollte4427 zu Jerusalem3389; und legte631 eine Schätzung aufs Land776, hundert3967 Zentner3603 Silbers3701 und einen Zentner3603 Goldes2091.

34 Und935 Pharao-Necho6549 machte4427 zum Könige Eliakim, den Sohn1121 Josias, anstatt seines Vaters1 Josia2977 und wandte seinen Namen8034 Jojakim3079. Aber Joahas3059 nahm3947 er2977 und brachte3947 ihn5437 nach Ägypten4714; daselbst starb4191 er.

35 Und Jojakim3079 gab5414 das776 Silber3701 und Gold2091 Pharao6547; doch schätzte6186 er5065 das Land776, daß er solch Silber3701 gäbe5414 nach Befehl6310 Pharaos; einen jeglichen376 nach seinem Vermögen6187 schätzte er am Silber3701 und Gold2091 unter dem Volk5971 im Lande, daß er dem Pharao-Necho6549 gäbe5414.

36 Fünfundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141 alt1121 war Jojakim3079, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete elf Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389. Seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Sebuda2080, eine Tochter1323 Pedajas6305 von Ruma7316.

37 Und tat6213, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, wie seine Väter1 getan6213 hatten.

6 And he brought out the idol from the house of the LORD, outside Jerusalem, to the brook Kidron and burned it at the brook Kidron, and ground it to dust and cast the dust of it upon the graves of the common people.

6 Und1121 ließ den Hain842 aus3318 dem Hause1004 des HErrn3068 führen hinaus vor2351 Jerusalem3389 in den Bach5158 Kidron6939, und verbrannten8313 ihn im Bach5158 Kidron6939 und machte1854 ihn zu Staub6083; und warf7993 den Staub6083 auf die Gräber6913 der gemeinen Leute5971.

8 Und3548 er376 ließ kommen alle Priester aus den Städten5892 Judas und3548 verunreinigte die Höhen1116, da die Priester räucherten, von Geba1387 an6999 bis gen Berseba; und5892 brach ab5422 die Höhen1116 in den Toren8179, die in der Tür6607 des Tors8179 waren935 Josuas3091, des Stadtvogts, welches war2930 zur Linken8040, wenn man zum Tor8179 der Stadt5892 gehet.

10 Er376 verunreinigte2930 auch das Thopheth8612 im Tal1516 der Kinder1121 Hinnom2011, daß1323 niemand seinen Sohn1121 oder seine Tochter1121 dem Molech durchs Feuer784 ließe gehen5674.

11 And he slew the horses which the kings of Judah had given to the sun, at the entrance of the house of the LORD, by the chamber of Nathan the king's eunuch, which was in the suburbs, and burned the chariot of the sun with fire.

11 Und8313 tat ab7673 die Rosse5483, welche die Könige4428 Judas hatten der Sonne8121 gesetzt5414 im Eingange des HErrn3068 Hauses1004 an der Kammer3957 Nethan-Melechs5419, des Kämmerers5631, der zu Parwarim6503 war935; und die Wagen4818 der Sonne8121 verbrannte er mit Feuer784.

12 And the altar that was on the top of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the LORD, did the king beat down, and broke them down from thence and cast the dust of them into the brook Kidron.

12 Und die Altäre4196 auf dem Dache1406 im Saal Ahas271, die die Könige4428 Judas gemacht hatten6213, und die Altäre4196, die Manasse4519 gemacht hatte6213 in den zweien Höfen2691 des HErrn3068 Hauses1004, brach der König4428 ab5422; und lief7323 von dannen und warf7993 ihren Staub6083 in den Bach5158 Kidron6939.

13 Auch die Höhen1116, die vor6440 Jerusalem3389 waren, zur Rechten3225 am Berge2022 Mashith, die Salomo8010, der König4428 Israels3478, gebauet hatte Asthoreth6253, dem Greuel8251 von Zidon, und1129 Kamos3645, dem Greuel8251 von Moab4124, und Milkom4445, dem Greuel8441 der Kinder1121 Ammon5983, verunreinigte2930 der König4428.

14 And he broke in pieces the images and cut down the idols and filled their places with the bones of men.

14 Und4390 zerbrach7665 die Säulen4676 und rottete aus3772 die Haine und füllete ihre Stätte4725 mit Menschenknochen6106.

15 Moreover the altar that was at Beth-el and the high places which Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel sin, had made, both that altar and the high place he demolished, and burned the high place and ground it to dust and burned the idols.

15 Auch den Altar4196 zu Bethel, die Höhe1116, die Jerobeam3379 gemacht hatte, der Sohn1121 Nebats5028, der Israel3478 sündigen2398 machte6213, denselben Altar4196 brach er ab5422 und8313 die Höhe1116; und8313 verbrannte die Höhe1116 und machte1854 sie zu Staub6083 und verbrannte den Hain842.

16 And as Josiah returned, he saw the sepulchres that were there on the mount, and he sent and took the bones out of the sepulchres and burned them upon the altar and defiled it, according to the word of the LORD which the prophet of God proclaimed, who predicted these things.

16 Und8313 Josia2977 wandte sich6437 und sah7200 die Gräber6913, die da waren auf3947 dem Berge2022; und sandte hin und ließ7971 die Knochen6106 aus den Gräbern6913 holen und verbrannte sie7121 auf dem Altar4196 und verunreinigte2930 ihn nach dem Wort1697 des HErrn3068, das1697 der Mann376 Gottes430 ausgerufen hatte7121, der solches ausrief.

17 Then the king said, What monument is that which I see? And the men of the city said to him, It is the sepulchre of the prophet of God, who came from Judah and proclaimed these things that you have done against the altar of Beth-el.

17 Und er sprach559: Was ist das1975 für ein376 Grabmal6725, das1697 ich sehe7200? Und die Leute582 in der Stadt5892 sprachen559 zu ihm: Es ist das Grab6913 des Mannes Gottes430, der von Juda3063 kam935 und rief7121 solches aus, das du getan6213 hast, wider den Altar4196 zu Bethel.

18 And he said, Let him alone; let no man touch his sepulchre, and let no man move his bones, so the bones of the prophet of God spared the bones of the prophet who came from Samaria from being burned.

18 Und er376 sprach559: Laßt ihn3240 liegen; niemand bewege5128 seine Gebeine6106! Also wurden seine Gebeine6106 errettet4422 mit den Gebeinen6106 des Propheten5030, der von Samaria8111 kommen war935.

19 And all the temples also of idols that were in the cities of Samaria, which the kings of Israel had made to provoke the LORD to anger, Josiah removed, and did to them according to all the acts that he had done in Beth-el.

19 Er2977 tat5493 auch weg alle Häuser1004 der Höhen1116 in den Städten5892 Samarias8111, welche die Könige4428 Israels3478 gemacht4639 hatten zu erzürnen3707; und tat6213 mit ihnen allerdinge, wie er zu Bethel getan6213 hatte6213.

20 And he slew all the priests of the high places, who burned incense upon the altars and burned men's bones upon them, and he returned to Jerusalem.

20 Und3548 er opferte2076 alle Priester der120 Höhen1116, die daselbst waren, auf den Altären4196; und8313 verbrannte also Menschenbeine drauf. Und kam wieder7725 gen Jerusalem3389.

21 And the king commanded all the people, saying, Keep the passover to the LORD your God. as it is written in the book of this covenant.

21 Und6213 der König4428 gebot6680 dem Volk5971 und sprach559: Haltet dem HErrn3068, eurem GOtt430, Passah6453, wie geschrieben3789 stehet im Buch5612 dieses Bundes1285.

22 Surely no such a passover had been kept from the days of the judges who judged Israel nor in all the days of the kings of Israel nor of the kings of Judah,

22 Denn es war kein Passah6453 so8199 gehalten, als dieses, von der Richter8199 Zeit3117 an, die Israel3478 gerichtet haben, und6213 in allen Zeiten3117 der Könige4428 Israels3478 und der Könige4428 Judas,

23 Like that in the eighteenth year of King Josiah, when this passover was kept to the LORD in Jerusalem.

23 sondern im achtzehnten6240 Jahr8141 des Königs4428 Josia2977 ward dies Passah6453 gehalten dem HErrn3068 zu6213 Jerusalem3389.

24 Auch fegte1197 Josia2977 aus alle Wahrsager178, Zeichendeuter3049, Bilder und3548 Götzen8655 und alle Greuel8251, die im Lande Juda3063 und zu Jerusalem3389 ersehen7200 wurden, auf6965 daß er aufrichtete die Worte1697 des Gesetzes8451, die geschrieben3789 stunden im Buch5612, das776 Hilkia2518, der Priester, fand4672 im Hause1004 des HErrn3068.

25 And like unto him was there no king before him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his might, according to all that which is written in the law of Moses; neither after him arose there any like him.

25 Sein gleichen war vor ihm6965 kein König4428 gewesen, der so3966 von ganzem Herzen3824, von ganzer See LE5315, von allen Kräften sich7725 zum HErrn3068 bekehrete nach310 allem Gesetz8451 Moses4872; und nach ihm kam sein gleichen nicht auf6440.

26 Nevertheless the LORD did not turn from the fierceness of his great wrath wherewith his anger was kindled against Judah because of all the provocations with which Manasseh had provoked him.

26 Doch kehrete sich der HErr3068 nicht639 von dem Grimm2740 seines großen1419 Zorns639, damit er über Juda3063 erzürnet3707 war2734 um7725 aller der Reizungen willen3708, damit ihn Manasse4519 gereizet hatte.

27 And the LORD said, I will remove Judah also out of my sight, as I have removed Israel, and I will cast off this city Jerusalem which I have chosen, and the house of which I said, My name shall be there.

27 Und der HErr3068 sprach559: Ich will Juda3063 auch von6440 meinem Angesicht tun5493, wie ich Israel3478 weggetan habe977; und will diese Stadt5892 verwerfen3988, die8034 ich erwählet hatte, nämlich Jerusalem3389 und das Haus1004, davon ich gesagt559 habe: Mein Name soll daselbst sein.

28 Now the rest of the acts of Josiah and all that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah.

28 Was aber mehr von Josia2977 zu sagen ist3789, und3499 alles, was er getan6213 hat, siehe, das1697 ist geschrieben in der Chronik5612 der Könige4428 Judas.

29 Zu seiner Zeit3117 zog5927 Pharao-Necho6549, der König4428 in Ägypten4714, herauf wider den König4428 von Assyrien804 an7200 das Wasser5104 Phrath. Aber der König4428 Josia2977 zog3212 ihm entgegen7125 und starb4191 zu Megiddo4023, da er ihn gesehen hatte.

30 And his servants carried him in a chariot dead from Megiddo, and brought him to Jerusalem and buried him there in his own sepulchre. And the people of the land took Jehoahaz the son of Josiah and anointed him and made him king in his father's stead.

30 Und seine Knechte5650 führeten ihn7392 tot4191 von Megiddo4023 und brachten935 ihn gen Jerusalem3389 und begruben6912 ihn in seinem Grabe6900. Und das776 Volk5971 im Lande nahm3947 Joahas3059, den Sohn1121 Josias2977, und salbeten ihn und machten4427 ihn zum Könige an seines Vaters1 Statt.

31 Jehoahaz was twenty-three years old when he began to reign; and he reigned three months in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Hamutal, the daughter of Jeremiah of Libnah.

31 Dreiundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141 war Joahas3059 alt1121, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete drei7969 Monden2320 zu Jerusalem3389. Seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Hamutal2537, eine Tochter1323 Jeremias von Libna3841.

32 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, just as Manasseh had done.

32 Und tat6213, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, wie seine Väter1 getan6213 hatten.

33 And Pharaoh the Lame, king of Egypt put him in bands at Diblath in the land of Hamath, when Pharaoh took over Jerusalem; and levied on the land a tribute of one hundred talents of silver and ten talents of gold.

33 Aber Pharao-Necho6549 fing ihn zu Riblath im Lande776 Hemath, daß er5414 nicht regieren sollte4427 zu Jerusalem3389; und legte631 eine Schätzung aufs Land776, hundert3967 Zentner3603 Silbers3701 und einen Zentner3603 Goldes2091.

34 And Pharaoh the Lame made Eliakim the son of Josiah king in the place of Josiah his father, and changed his name to Jehoiakim, and he took Jehoahaz away, and brought him to Egypt and he died there.

34 Und935 Pharao-Necho6549 machte4427 zum Könige Eliakim, den Sohn1121 Josias, anstatt seines Vaters1 Josia2977 und wandte seinen Namen8034 Jojakim3079. Aber Joahas3059 nahm3947 er2977 und brachte3947 ihn5437 nach Ägypten4714; daselbst starb4191 er.

35 And Jehoiakim gave the silver and gold to Pharaoh; but he taxed the land to give the money as he was commanded by Pharaoh; he exacted silver and gold from the people of the land, of every one according to his means, to give it to Pharaoh the Lame.

35 Und Jojakim3079 gab5414 das776 Silber3701 und Gold2091 Pharao6547; doch schätzte6186 er5065 das Land776, daß er solch Silber3701 gäbe5414 nach Befehl6310 Pharaos; einen jeglichen376 nach seinem Vermögen6187 schätzte er am Silber3701 und Gold2091 unter dem Volk5971 im Lande, daß er dem Pharao-Necho6549 gäbe5414.

36 Jehoiakim was twenty-five years old when he began to reign; and he reigned eleven years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Zebudah, the daughter of Peraiah of Ramtha.

36 Fünfundzwanzig6242 Jahre8141 alt1121 war Jojakim3079, da er König4427 ward4427, und regierete elf Jahre8141 zu Jerusalem3389. Seine Mutter517 hieß8034 Sebuda2080, eine Tochter1323 Pedajas6305 von Ruma7316.

37 And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, according to all that his fathers had done.

37 Und tat6213, das dem7451 HErrn3068 übel gefiel5869, wie seine Väter1 getan6213 hatten.
