1 Тогда ответил Билдад из Шуаха:

2 — Держава и страх — у Бога, творящего мир в высотах Своих.

3 Можно ли счесть Его рати? И над кем Его свет не светит?

4 Так может ли смертный быть праведен перед Богом, и рожденный женщиной — чист?

5 Ведь если даже луна не светла, и звезды нечисты в Его глазах,

6 то тем более человек, который лишь червь, и смертный, который лишь моль!

1 THEN Bildad, the Shuhite, answered and said,

2 Dominion and reverence are with him, he has made peace in his heavens.

3 Is there any number to his armies? And upon whom does not his light shine?

4 How then can man be justified with God? Or how can he be declared blameless, he who is born of a woman?

5 Behold, even the moon cannot be justified; yea, the stars are not pure in his sight.

6 How much less man, who is dust, and the son of man, who is a worm!
