第20章

1 過了一年，到列王出戰的時候，約押率領軍兵毀壞亞捫人的地，圍攻拉巴；大衛仍住在耶路撒冷。約押攻打拉巴，將城傾覆。

2 大衛奪了亞捫人之王［king］所戴的金冠冕，其上的金子重一他連得，又嵌著寶石；人將這冠冕戴在大衛頭上。大衛從城裏奪了許多財物，

3 將城裏的人拉出來，把他們用鋸、用鐵耙和鐵斧剪除［and cut them with saws, and with harrows of iron, and with axes］，大衛待亞捫各城的居民都是如此。其後大衛和眾軍都回耶路撒冷去了。

4 後來，以色列人在基色與非利士人打仗。戶沙人西比該殺了巨人［giant］的一個兒子細派，非利士人就被制伏了。

5 又與非利士人打仗。睚珥的兒子伊勒哈難殺了迦特人歌利亞的兄弟拉哈米；這人的槍桿粗如織布的機軸。

6 又在迦特打仗。那裏有一個身量高大的人，手腳都是六指，共有二十四個指頭，他也是巨人［giant］的兒子。

7 這人向以色列［Israel］罵陣，大衛的哥哥示米亞的兒子約拿單就殺了他。

8 這三個人是迦特巨人［giant］的兒子，都死在大衛和他僕人的手下。

1 Chronicles

Chapter 20

1 And it came1961 to pass, that after6256 the year8141 was expired,8666 at the time6256 that kings4428 go3318 out to battle, Joab3097 led5090 forth the power2428 of the army,6635 and wasted7843 the country776 of the children1121 of Ammon,5983 and came935 and besieged6696 Rabbah.7237 But David1732 tarried3427 at Jerusalem.3389 And Joab3097 smote5221 Rabbah,7237 and destroyed2040 it.

2 And David1732 took3947 the crown5850 of their king4428 from off5921 his head,7218 and found4672 it to weigh4948 a talent3603 of gold,2091 and there were precious3368 stones68 in it; and it was set on David's1732 head:7218 and he brought3318 also exceeding3966 much7235 spoil7998 out of the city.5892

3 And he brought3318 out the people5971 that were in it, and cut7787 them with saws,4050 and with harrows2757 of iron,1270 and with axes.4050 Even so3651 dealt6213 David1732 with all3605 the cities5892 of the children1121 of Ammon.5983 And David1732 and all3605 the people5971 returned7725 to Jerusalem.3389

4 And it came1961 to pass after310 this,3651 that there arose5975 war4421 at Gezer1507 with the Philistines;6430 at which227 time227 Sibbechai5444 the Hushathite2843 slew5221 Sippai,5598 that was of the children3211 of the giant:7497 and they were subdued.3665

5 And there was war4421 again5750 with the Philistines;6430 and Elhanan445 the son1121 of Jair3265 slew5221 Lahmi3902 the brother251 of Goliath1555 the Gittite,1663 whose spear2595 staff6086 was like a weaver's707 beam.4500

6 And yet5750 again5750 there was war4421 at Gath,1661 where was a man376 of great stature,4060 whose fingers676 and toes676 were four702 and twenty,6242 six8337 on each hand, and six8337 on each foot and he also1571 was the son3205 of the giant.7497

7 But when he defied2778 Israel,3478 Jonathan3083 the son1121 of Shimea8092 David's1732 brother251 slew5221 him.

8 These411 were born3205 to the giant7497 in Gath;1661 and they fell5307 by the hand3027 of David,1732 and by the hand3027 of his servants.5650
