約伯記

第16章

1 約伯回答說：

2 這樣的話我聽了許多；你們安慰人，反叫人愁煩。

3 虛空的言語有窮盡嗎？有甚麼話惹動你回答呢？

4 我也能說你們那樣的話；你們若處在我的境遇，我也會堆起［heap up］言語攻擊你們，又能向你們搖頭。

5 但我必用口堅固你們，用嘴消解你們的憂愁。

6 我雖說話，憂愁仍不得消解；我雖停住不說，憂愁就離開我嗎？

7 但現在神使我困倦，使親友遠離我，

8 又給我添上皺紋［filled me with wrinkles］作見證攻擊我；我身體的枯瘦也當面見證我的不是。

9 主發怒撕裂我，恨惡［hateth］我，向我切齒；我的敵人怒目看我。

10 他們向我開口，打我的臉羞辱我，聚會攻擊我。

11 神把我交給不敬虔的人，把我扔到惡人的手中。

12 我素來安逸，他折斷我，掐住我的頸項，把我摔碎，又立我為他的箭靶子。

13 他的弓箭手四面圍繞我；他破裂我的肺腑，並不留情，把我的膽傾倒在地上，

14 將我破裂又破裂，如同巨人［giant］向我直闖。

15 我縫麻布在我皮膚上，把我的角玷［defiled］在塵土中。

16 我的臉因哭泣發紫，在我的眼皮上有死蔭。

17 卻非因［Not for］我手中有甚麼不義［any injustice］；我的祈禱也是純潔［pure］。

18 地啊，不要遮蓋我的血。不要阻擋我的哀求。

19 現今看哪［behold］，在天有我的見證，在上有我的記錄［record］。

20 我的朋友譏誚我，我卻向神眼淚汪汪。

21 願人得與神辯白，如同人與鄰居［neighbour］辯白一樣啊［O］。

22 再過幾年［When a few years are come］，那時［then］我必走那往而不返之路。

Chapter 16

1 Then Job347 answered6030 and said,559

2 I have heard8085 many7227 such428 things: miserable5999 comforters5162 are you all.3605

3 Shall vain7307 words1697 have an end?7093 or176 what4100 emboldens4834 you that you answer?6030

4 I also1571 could speak1696 as you do: if3863 your soul5315 were in my soul's5315 stead,8478 I could heap2266 up words4405 against5921 you, and shake5128 my head7218 at you.

5 But I would strengthen553 you with my mouth,6310 and the moving5205 of my lips8193 should assuage2820 your grief.

6 Though518 I speak,1696 my grief3511 is not assuaged:2820 and though I forbear,2308 what4100 am I eased?1980

7 But now6258 he has made me weary:3811 you have made desolate8074 all3605 my company.5712

8 And you have filled7059 me with wrinkles,7059 which is a witness5707 against me: and my leanness3585 rising6965 up in me bears6030 witness6030 to my face.6440

9 He tears2963 me in his wrath,639 who hates7852 me: he gnashes2786 on me with his teeth;8127 my enemy6862 sharpens3913 his eyes5869 on me.

10 They have gaped6473 on me with their mouth;6310 they have smitten5221 me on the cheek3895 reproachfully;2781 they have gathered4390 themselves together3162 against5921 me.

11 God410 has delivered5462 me to the ungodly,5760 and turned3399 me over5921 into413 the hands3027 of the wicked.7563

12 I was at ease,7961 but he has broken6565 me asunder: he has also taken247 me by my neck,6203 and shaken6327 me to pieces, and set6965 me up for his mark.4307

13 His archers7228 compass5437 me round5437 about, he splits6398 my reins3629 asunder, and does not spare;2550 he pours8210 out my gall4845 on the ground.776

14 He breaks6555 me with breach6556 on breach,6556 he runs7323 on me like a giant.1368

15 I have sewed8609 sackcloth8242 on my skin,1539 and defiled5953 my horn7161 in the dust.6083
