帖撒羅尼迦前書

第3章

1 我們既不能再忍，就願意獨自等在雅典，

2 打發我們的兄弟，作神執事的［minister of God］，我們［our］基督福音的同工［fellowlabourer］提摩太前去，堅固你們，並在你們所信的道上勸慰你們。

3 免得有人被諸般患難搖動。因為你們自己知道我們受患難原是命定的。

4 我們在你們那裏的時候，預先告訴你們，我們必受患難，以後果然應驗了，你們也知道。

5 為此，我既不能再忍，就打發人去，要曉得你們的信心如何，恐怕那誘惑人的到底誘惑了你們，叫我們的勞苦歸於徒然。

6 但如今提摩太［now when Timotheus］從你們那裏回來，將你們信心和愛心的好消息報給我們，又說你們常常記念我們，切切的想見我們，如同我們想見你們一樣。

7 所以弟兄們，我們在一切困苦患難之中，因著你們的信心就得了安慰。

8 你們若靠主站立得穩，我們就活了。

9 我們在我們的［our］神面前，因著你們甚是喜樂，為這一切喜樂，可用何等的感謝為你們報答神呢？

10 我們晝夜切切的祈求，要見你們的面，補滿你們信心的不足。

11 願神我們的父，和我們的主耶穌基督［Christ］，一直指引［direct］我們到你們那裏去。

12 又願主叫你們彼此相愛的心，並愛眾人的心都能增長、充足，如同我們愛你們一樣；

13 好使你們，當我們主耶穌基督［Christ］同他眾聖徒來的時候，在我們父神面前，心裏堅固，成為聖潔，無可指摘［unblameable］。

1 Thessalonians

Chapter 3

2 And sent3992 Timotheus,5095 our brother,80 and minister1249 of God,2316 and our fellow laborer4904 in the gospel2098 of Christ,5547 to establish4741 you, and to comfort3870 you concerning4012 your5216 faith:4102

3 That no3367 man3367 should be moved4525 by these5025 afflictions:2347 for yourselves846 know1492 that we are appointed2749 thereunto.1519 5124

4 For truly,2532 when3753 we were with you, we told4302 you before4302 that we should3195 suffer tribulation;2346 even2532 as it came1096 to pass, and you know.1492

5 For this5124 cause,1223 when I could no3371 longer3371 forbear,4722 I sent375 to know1097 your5216 faith,4102 lest3381 by some3381 means4458 the tempter3985 have tempted3985 you, and our labor2873 be in vain.2756

6 But now737 when Timotheus5095 came2064 from you to us, and brought2097 us good2097 tidings2097 of your5216 faith4102 and charity,26 and that you have2192 good18 remembrance3417 of us always,3842 desiring1971 greatly1971 to see1492 us, as we also2532 to see you:

7 Therefore,1223 5125 brothers,80 we were comforted3870 over1909 you in all3956 our affliction2347 and distress318 by your5216 faith:4102

8 For now3568 we live,2198 if1437 you stand4739 fast in the Lord.2962

9 For what5101 thanks2169 can1410 we render467 to God2316 again467 for you, for all3956 the joy5479 with which3739 we joy5463 for your5209 sakes before1715 our God;2316

10 Night3571 and day2250 praying1189 exceedingly5228 that we might see1492 your5216 face,4383 and might perfect2675 that which is lacking5303 in your5216 faith?4102

11 Now1161 God2316 himself846 and our Father,3962 and our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ,5547 direct2720 our way3598 to you.

12 And the Lord2962 make4121 you to increase4121 and abound4052 in love25 one240 toward1519 another,240 and toward1519 all3956 men, even2532 as we do toward1519 you:

13 To the end1519 he may establish4741 your5216 hearts2588 blameless299 in holiness42 before1715 God,2316 even2532 our Father,3962 at1722 the coming3952 of our Lord2962 Jesus2424 Christ5547 with all3956 his saints.40
