20 Egypt4714 is like a very3304 fair3304 heifer,5697 but destruction7171 comes;935 it comes935 out of the north.6828

21 Also1571 her hired7916 men are in the middle7130 of her like fatted4770 bullocks;5695 for they also1571 are turned6437 back,3437 and are fled5127 away together:3162 they did not stand,5975 because3588 the day3117 of their calamity343 was come935 on them, and the time6256 of their visitation.6486

22 The voice6963 thereof shall go3212 like a serpent;5175 for they shall march3212 with an army,2428 and come935 against her with axes,7134 as hewers2404 of wood.6086

23 They shall cut3772 down her forest,3293 said5002 the LORD,3068 though3588 it cannot3808 be searched;2713 because3588 they are more7231 than the grasshoppers,697 and are innumerable.369 4557

24 The daughter1323 of Egypt4714 shall be confounded;3001 she shall be delivered5414 into the hand3027 of the people5971 of the north.6828

25 The LORD3068 of hosts,6635 the God430 of Israel,3478 said;559 Behold,2005 I will punish6485 the multitude527 of No,4996 and Pharaoh,6547 and Egypt,4714 with their gods,430 and their kings;4428 even Pharaoh,6547 and all them that trust982 in him:

28 Fear3372 you not, O Jacob3290 my servant,5650 said5002 the LORD:3068 for I am with you; for I will make6213 a full end3615 of all3605 the nations1471 where834 8033 I have driven5080 you: but I will not make6213 a full end3615 of you, but correct3256 you in measure;4941 yet will I not leave you wholly5352 unpunished.5352

1 耶和華以列邦之事、諭耶利米、其言如左。

2 猶大王約西亞子約雅金四年、埃及王法老尼哥帥師在百辣河濱、迦基密邑、爲巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒所敗、先知耶利米以埃及軍國之事、奉耶和華命而錄其詞曰、

3 干戈森列、臨陣戰鬬、

4 駕馬列騎、戴冑而立、礪戈矛、著戎衣。

5 耶和華曰、我觀其喪膽敗北、四周畏懼、武士戰北、逃遁維速、不顧其後。

6 疾趨者不及逃遁、強猛者不能免難、在彼北方、百辣河濱、顚躓傾覆。

7 彼之至也、勢若大河、波流洶湧、果爲誰歟。

8 埃及人至此、譬諸巨川、彼曰、我將汎濫於斯土、毀其邑、殲其民。

9 維爾武士、駕車乘馬、馳驟而至、古實人、弗人、俱執干戈、路丁人、善挽強弓。

10 先知曰、今日萬有之主耶和華降災於敵、雪其夙忿、使之被戮於鋒刃、飲血若醉、蓋萬有之主耶和華在於北方、百辣河濱、大行誅殛。

11 埃及人往基列、求乳香藥品、雖多無益、必不得醫、

12 爾受凌辱、號呼之聲聞於列國、蓋傑士顚躓、淪胥以亡。

13 巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒將至、攻擊埃及、耶和華以是事告先知耶利米、曰、

14 當告埃及人、播揚斯言於蜜奪、挪弗、答比匿云、當預爲備、屹立不動、四周之民、亡於鋒刃。

15 爾之有能者、爲我耶和華所驅、不能禦敵、俱遭淹沒。

16 羣衆傾覆、自相蹂躪、曰、莫若旋師返國、不遭強者殺戮、

17 告埃及王法老云、戰鬬之事不敢與會。

18 萬有之主、耶和華曰、我指己而誓、敵至斯土、若山中有大泊、若海濱有加密、屹然峙立。

19 挪弗荒蕪、無人居處、旅於埃及者必預爲備、恐見虜。

20 埃及人若美犢、有災至自北方、

21 彼以金募壯士、俱若肥牛、災害旣臨、敗北而遁、不能禦敵。

22 埃及人聲細若蛇、敵人帥師來攻、若樵夫執斧伐木。

23 耶和華曰、彼雖衆多若蝗、不可勝數、亦當伐之、無異伐木。

24 埃及人惶遽、爲北方之人所虜。

25 萬有之主、以色列族之上帝耶和華曰、我必罰埃及之挪亞門、毀其上帝之像、誅王公法老、與凡恃法老之勢者、

26 付之於敵、巴比倫王、尼布甲尼撒、及其僕之手、厥後埃及之地有人居處、與昔無異、我耶和華已言之矣、

27 我僕雅各家以色列族勿懼、雖虜於遠方、我將救爾、使歸故土、得享平康、無人使爾恐懼。

28 Fear3372 you not, O Jacob3290 my servant,5650 said5002 the LORD:3068 for I am with you; for I will make6213 a full end3615 of all3605 the nations1471 where834 8033 I have driven5080 you: but I will not make6213 a full end3615 of you, but correct3256 you in measure;4941 yet will I not leave you wholly5352 unpunished.5352
