3 Препояшь, как муж, чресла твои, и что спрошу у тебя, объясни Мне.

4 Где ты был, когда Я основывал землю? скажи, если имеешь ведение.

5 Кто назначил размеры ее, когда знаешь, или кто протягивал по ней мерную вервь?

6 Во что погружены подножия столпов ее, или кто положил краеугольный камень ее,

7 При всеобщем ликовании утренних звезд, когда восклицали все сыны Божии?

8 Кто заградил вратами море, когда оно исторглось, выступило из чрева,

9 Когда Я дал ему облака вместо одежды, и мглу вместо пелен,

10 И провел ему черту Мою, и поставил врата с затворами,

11 И сказал: `доселе доходи, и не далее, и здесь полагается предел надмению волн твоих`?

12 В жизни твоей давал ли ты когда заповедь утру? указывал ли заре место ее,

13 Чтобы обхватывала крыла земли, и стряхивала беззаконных с нее,

14 Когда она разнообразится, как глина под печатью, и сии зори являются, как облачения,

15 И отъемлется у нечестивых свет их, и мышца высокая сокрушается?

16 Доходил ли ты до источников моря? во внутренности бездны расхаживал ли?

17 Отворялись ли для тебя врата смерти, и врата тени смертной видел ли ты?

18 Обозрел ли ты даже пространство земли? скажи, если ты знаешь все сие.

19 Где путь к жилищу света, и тьма, где место ее?

20 Скажи, когда ты постиг их у предела их, и когда известны тебе стези к домам их.

21 Ибо тогда ли ты родился, и дни твои так ли многи, что ты знаешь сие?

22 Ходил ли ты к хранилищам снега, и видел ли ты хранилища града,

23 Которые берегу на время тесное, на день брани и битвы?

24 Где те пути, которыми разделяется свет, разносится восточный ветр по земле?

25 Кто воздушным водам проводит протоки, и путь молнии громоносной,

26 Чтобы посылать дождь земле безлюдной, пустыне, где человека нет,

27 Чтоб насыщать страну пустую и дикую, и возбуждать к прозябанию исходище зелени?

28 Есть ли отец у дождя, и кто рождает капли росы?

29 Из чьего чрева исходит лед, и иней небесный, кто рождает его?

30 Как под камень скрываются воды, и скована поверхность бездны.

31 Ты ли связал Плеяды в узел, или ты распустил узы Ориону?

32 Ты ли изводишь зодиакальные созвездия, каждое в свое время, и водишь Медведицу с детьми ее?

33 Знаешь ли ты законы неба, и ты ли уставил господство его над землею?

34 Можешь ли вознести к облаку глас твой, чтобы изобильные воды покрыли тебя?

35 Посылаешь ли молнии, чтоб они шли, и говорят ли они тебе: `вот мы`?

36 Кто в игру безотчетных вержений вложил премудрость, или кто бездушным образам дал печать разума?

37 Кто облака расчисляет с мудростью, и из мехов небесных кто льет,

38 Когда пыль сливается в слитки, и глыбы слепляются?

39 Ты ли ловишь добычу львице, и насыщаешь алчность молодых львов,

40 Когда они лежат в логовищах, сидят под кровом чащи в засаде?

41 Кто готовит ворону корм его, когда птенцы его взывают к Богу, блуждают без пищи?
