Jeremiah

Chapter 32

1 THE word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.

2 For then the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah's house.

3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Why do you prophesy and say, Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

4 And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face, and they shall see each other eye to eye;

5 And he shall take Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, says the LORD; though you fight with the Chaldeans, you shall not win.

6 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,

7 Behold, Nahmael the son of Shallum your uncle is coming to you, saying, Buy my field which is at Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of redemption is yours to buy it.

8 So Nahmael my uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of the LORD, and said to me, Buy my field which is at Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.

9 And I bought the field of Nahmael my uncle's son, which was in Anathoth, and weighed him the money, even seventeen shekels of silver.

10 And I wrote the deed, and sealed it and called witnesses, and weighed him the money in the scales.

11 Then I took the deed of purchase, both that which was duly sealed according to law and a copy which was not sealed;

12 And I gave the deed of the purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, the son of Maasiah, in the sight of Nahmael my uncle's son and in the presence of the witnesses whose names were written on the deed of purchase and in the presence of all the Jews who were seated in the court of the guard.

13 And I charged Baruch in their presence, saying,

14 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this deed of purchase which is sealed and this deed which is not sealed; and put them in an earthen vessel, so that they may be preserved for a long time.

15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall be bought again in this land.

16 Now after I had given the deeds of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying,

17 Ah, LORD God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and by thy stretched out arm, and there is nothing hidden from thee;

18 Thou showest lovingkindness to thousands of generations, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers to the bosom of their children after them; thou art the Great God, the Mighty and Revered, the LORD of hosts is his name,

19 Great in counsel and mighty in work, whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.

20 For thou didst perform great signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day and in Israel and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;

21 And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders and with a strong hand and with a stretched out arm and with a great spectacle;

22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;

23 And they came in and possessed it; but they did not obey thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they did nothing of all that thou didst command them to do; therefore all this evil has come upon them.

24 Behold the siege ramparts are come against this city to take it; and because of sword and of famine and of pestilence the city is delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans, who are fighting against it; and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, I see it.

25 And thou, O LORD God, hast said to me, Buy the field for money, and call witnesses; and, behold the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.

26 Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying,

27 I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything hidden from me?

28 Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hand of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it;

29 And the Chaldeans shall come and fight against this city, and shall uproot this city and set fire to it, together with the houses upon whose roofs the people have offered incense to Baal and poured out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.

30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only that which is evil before me from their youth; for the children of Israel have always provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says the LORD.

31 And because of them my anger and fury have come upon this city from the day that they built it even to this day; so that I may remove it from before my face,

32 Because of all the evil of the children of Israel and of the children of Judah, which they have done to provoke me to anger, they, their kings, their princes, their priests and their prophets and the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

33 And they have turned to me their backs and not their faces; though I have taught them, warning them in advance, yet they would not listen to receive instruction.

34 But they set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.

35 And they built the high places of Baal in Taphat, which is in the valley of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters as offerings to Molech; which I did not command them, nor did it come into my mind that they should do this abomination to cause Judah to sin.

36 And now therefore thus says the LORD, the God of Israel, concerning this city, of which you say, It shall be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon by sword and by famine and by pestilence;

37 Behold, I will gather them from all the lands to which I have driven them in my anger and in my fury and great wrath; and I will bring them back to this country, and I will cause them to dwell in safety;

38 And they shall be my people, and I will be their God;

39 And I will give them a new heart and a new spirit, that they may worship before me for ever; and it shall be good to them and to their children after them:

40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them to do them good: and I will put my reverence in their hearts, that they may not go astray from me.

41 Yea, I will cause them to rejoice, and good shall come to them, and I will plant them in this land in truth, with my whole heart and with my whole soul.

42 For thus says the LORD: Just as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring them all the good that I promise them.

43 And fields shall be bought in this land, of which you say, It is desolate, without man and beast; and it is delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans.

44 Men shall buy fields for money, and write deeds and seal them and call witnesses in the land of Benjamin and in the places about Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah and in the cities of the mountains and in the cities of the valleys and in the cities of the south; for I will bring them back from their captivity, says the LORD.

第32章

1 猶大王西底家第十年，就是尼布甲尼撒十八年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。

2 那時巴比倫王的軍隊圍困耶路撒冷，先知耶利米囚在囚院［court of the prison］內，這囚院［which was］在猶大王的宮中。

3 因為猶大王西底家已將他囚禁，說：「你為甚麼預言說，耶和華如此說：『看哪［Behold］，我必將這城交在巴比倫王的手中，他必攻取這城；

4 猶大王西底家必不能逃脫迦勒底人的手，定要交在巴比倫王的手中，要口對口彼此說話，眼對眼彼此相看。

5 巴比倫王必將西底家帶到巴比倫；西底家必住在那裏，直到我眷顧他的時候。你們雖與迦勒底人爭戰，卻不順利。這是耶和華說的。』」

6 耶利米說：「耶和華的話臨到我說：

7 『看哪［Behold］，你叔叔沙龍的兒子哈拿篾必來見你，說：我在亞拿突的那塊地，求你買來；因你買這地是合乎贖回之理。』」

8 我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾果然照耶和華的話來到囚院［court of the prison］內，對我說：「我在便雅憫境內、亞拿突的那塊地，求你買來；因你買來是合乎承受之理，是你當贖的。你為自己買來吧。」我─耶利米就知道這是耶和華的話。

9 我便向我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾買了亞拿突的那塊地，平了十七舍客勒銀子給他。

10 我在契上畫押，將契封緘，又請見證人來，並用天平將錢［money］平給他。

11 我便將照例按規所立買地的契據［evidence of the purchase］，就是封緘的那一張和敞著的那一張；

12 當著我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾眼前［sight］，和冊上［book］畫押作見證的人面前［presence］，並坐在囚院［court of the prison］內的一切猶太人跟前［before］，將買契的契據［evidence of the purchase］交給瑪西雅的孫子尼利亞的兒子巴錄。

13 當著他們眾人眼前，我囑咐巴錄說：

14 「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：要將這封緘的和敞著的兩張契放在瓦器裏，可以存留多日。

15 因為大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：將來在這地必有人再買房屋、田地，和葡萄園。」

16 我將買契交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄以後，便禱告耶和華說：

17 「主耶和華啊。你看［behold］，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天地，在你沒有難成的事；

18 你施慈愛與千代的［thousands］人，又將父親的罪孽報應在他後世子孫的懷中；至大者［the Great］、全能者神［Mighty God］、大軍之耶和華是他［his］的名，

19 謀事有大略，行事有大能；你［thine］注目觀看世人一切的舉動，為要照各人所行的和他作事的結果待［give］他；

20 在埃及地顯神蹟奇事，直到今日在以色列和別人中間也是如此，使自己得了名聲，正如今日一樣；

21 用神蹟奇事和大能的手，並伸出來的膀臂與大可畏的事，領你的百姓以色列出了埃及；

22 將這地賜給他們，就是你向他們列祖起誓應許賜給他們流奶與蜜之地。

23 他們進入這地得了為業，卻不聽從你的話，也不遵行你的律法；你一切所吩咐他們行的，他們一無所行，因此你使這一切的災禍臨到他們。

24 看哪，敵人已經來到，築壘要攻取這城；城也因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在攻城的迦勒底人手中。你所說的話都成就了，你也看見了。

25 主耶和華啊，你對我說：要用錢［money］為自己買那塊地，又請見證人；因為［for］這城已交在迦勒底人的手中了。」

26 那時［Then］，耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：

27 「看哪［Behold］，我是耶和華，是凡有血氣者的神；豈有我難成的事嗎？

28 所以［Therefore］耶和華如此說：看哪［Behold］，我必將這城交付迦勒底人的手和巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手，他必攻取這城；

29 攻城的迦勒底人必來放火焚燒這城和其中的房屋，人在這房屋上［upon whose roofs they］曾向巴力獻［offered］香，向別神澆奠，惹我發怒。

30 以色列人和猶大人自從幼年以來，在我面前專行惡事［only done evil before me］；以色列人盡以手所作的惹我發怒。這是耶和華說的。

31 這城自從建造的那日直到今日，像是常惹我怒氣和烈怒的［as a provocation of mine anger and of my fury］，使我將這城從我面前除掉，

32 是因以色列人和猶大人一切的邪惡，就是他們和他們的君王、首領、祭司、先知，並猶大的人［men of Judah］，以及耶路撒冷的居民所行的，惹我發怒。

33 他們以背向我，不以面向我；我雖從早起來教訓他們，他們卻不聽從，不受教訓。

34 他們［they］竟把可憎之物設立在稱為我名下的殿中，污穢了這殿。

35 他們在欣嫩子谷建築巴力的眾高邱［high places］，好使自己的兒女經火歸摩洛；他們行這可憎的事，使猶大陷在罪裏，這並不是我所吩咐的，也不是我心所起的意。」

36 故此［therefore］，現在論到這城，就是你們所說、將要［shall be］因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在巴比倫王手中的，耶和華─以色列的神如此說：

37 「看哪［Behold］，我在怒氣、烈怒［fury］，和大惱恨中，將以色列人趕到各國。日後我必從那裏將他們招聚出來，領他們回到此地，使他們安然居住；

38 他們要作我的子民，我要作他們的神；

39 我要使他們彼此同心同道，好叫他們永遠敬畏我，使他們和他們後世的子孫得福樂；

40 又要與他們立永遠的約，必隨著他們施恩，並不離開他們，且使他們有敬畏我的心，不離開我。

41 我必歡喜施恩與他們，要盡心盡意、誠誠實實將他們栽於此地。

42 「因為耶和華如此說：我怎樣使這一切大禍臨到這百姓，我也要照樣使我所應許他們的一切福樂都臨到他們。

43 你們說，這地是荒涼、無人民、無牲畜，是交付迦勒底人手之地。日後在這境內，必有人置買田地。

44 在便雅憫地、耶路撒冷四圍的各處、猶大的城邑、山地的城邑、谷地［valley］的城邑，並南地的城邑，人必用錢［money］買田地，在契上畫押，將契封緘，請出見證人，因為我必使被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。」

Jeremiah Chapter 32	耶利米書第32章
1 THE word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadnezzar.	1 猶大王西底家第十年，就是尼布甲尼撒十八年，耶和華的話臨到耶利米。
2 For then the army of the king of Babylon was besieging Jerusalem; and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the guard, which was in the king of Judah's house.	2 那時巴比倫王的軍隊圍困耶路撒冷，先知耶利米囚在囚院［court of the prison］內，這囚院［which was］在猶大王的宮中。
3 For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Why do you prophesy and say, Thus says the LORD: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it;	3 因為猶大王西底家已將他囚禁，說：「你為甚麼預言說，耶和華如此說：『看哪［Behold］，我必將這城交在巴比倫王的手中，他必攻取這城；
4 And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him face to face, and they shall see each other eye to eye;	4 猶大王西底家必不能逃脫迦勒底人的手，定要交在巴比倫王的手中，要口對口彼此說話，眼對眼彼此相看。
5 And he shall take Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, says the LORD; though you fight with the Chaldeans, you shall not win.	5 巴比倫王必將西底家帶到巴比倫；西底家必住在那裏，直到我眷顧他的時候。你們雖與迦勒底人爭戰，卻不順利。這是耶和華說的。』」
6 And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, saying,	6 耶利米說：「耶和華的話臨到我說：

8 So Nahmael my uncle's son came to me in the court of the guard according to the word of the LORD, and said to me, Buy my field which is at Anathoth, which is in the land of Benjamin; for the right of inheritance is yours, and the redemption is yours; buy it for yourself. Then I knew that this was the word of the LORD.	8 我叔叔的兒子哈拿篾果然照耶和華的話來到囚院［court of the prison］內，對我說：「我在便雅憫境內、亞拿突的那塊地，求你買來；因你買來是合乎承受之理，是你當贖的。你為自己買來吧。」我─耶利米就知道這是耶和華的話。

13 And I charged Baruch in their presence, saying,	13 當著他們眾人眼前，我囑咐巴錄說：
14 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Take these deeds, both this deed of purchase which is sealed and this deed which is not sealed; and put them in an earthen vessel, so that they may be preserved for a long time.	14 「大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：要將這封緘的和敞著的兩張契放在瓦器裏，可以存留多日。
15 For thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Houses and fields and vineyards shall be bought again in this land.	15 因為大軍之耶和華─以色列的神如此說：將來在這地必有人再買房屋、田地，和葡萄園。」
16 Now after I had given the deeds of purchase to Baruch the son of Neriah, I prayed to the LORD, saying,	16 我將買契交給尼利亞的兒子巴錄以後，便禱告耶和華說：
17 Ah, LORD God! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and by thy stretched out arm, and there is nothing hidden from thee;	17 「主耶和華啊。你看［behold］，你曾用大能和伸出來的膀臂創造天地，在你沒有難成的事；
18 Thou showest lovingkindness to thousands of generations, and recompensest the iniquity of the fathers to the bosom of their children after them; thou art the Great God, the Mighty and Revered, the LORD of hosts is his name,	18 你施慈愛與千代的［thousands］人，又將父親的罪孽報應在他後世子孫的懷中；至大者［the Great］、全能者神［Mighty God］、大軍之耶和華是他［his］的名，
19 Great in counsel and mighty in work, whose eyes are open upon all the ways of the sons of men, to give every one according to his ways and according to the fruit of his doings.	19 謀事有大略，行事有大能；你［thine］注目觀看世人一切的舉動，為要照各人所行的和他作事的結果待［give］他；
20 For thou didst perform great signs and wonders in the land of Egypt, even to this day and in Israel and among other men; and hast made thee a name, as at this day;	20 在埃及地顯神蹟奇事，直到今日在以色列和別人中間也是如此，使自己得了名聲，正如今日一樣；
21 And hast brought forth thy people Israel out of the land of Egypt with signs and with wonders and with a strong hand and with a stretched out arm and with a great spectacle;	21 用神蹟奇事和大能的手，並伸出來的膀臂與大可畏的事，領你的百姓以色列出了埃及；
22 And hast given them this land, which thou didst swear to their fathers to give them, a land flowing with milk and honey;	22 將這地賜給他們，就是你向他們列祖起誓應許賜給他們流奶與蜜之地。
23 And they came in and possessed it; but they did not obey thy voice, neither walked in thy law; they did nothing of all that thou didst command them to do; therefore all this evil has come upon them.	23 他們進入這地得了為業，卻不聽從你的話，也不遵行你的律法；你一切所吩咐他們行的，他們一無所行，因此你使這一切的災禍臨到他們。
24 Behold the siege ramparts are come against this city to take it; and because of sword and of famine and of pestilence the city is delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans, who are fighting against it; and what thou hast spoken is come to pass; and, behold, I see it.	24 看哪，敵人已經來到，築壘要攻取這城；城也因刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫交在攻城的迦勒底人手中。你所說的話都成就了，你也看見了。
25 And thou, O LORD God, hast said to me, Buy the field for money, and call witnesses; and, behold the city is given into the hand of the Chaldeans.	25 主耶和華啊，你對我說：要用錢［money］為自己買那塊地，又請見證人；因為［for］這城已交在迦勒底人的手中了。」
26 Then came the word of the LORD to Jeremiah, saying,	26 那時［Then］，耶和華的話臨到耶利米說：
27 I am the LORD, the God of all flesh; is there anything hidden from me?	27 「看哪［Behold］，我是耶和華，是凡有血氣者的神；豈有我難成的事嗎？
28 Therefore thus says the LORD: Behold, I will deliver this city into the hand of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall take it;	28 所以［Therefore］耶和華如此說：看哪［Behold］，我必將這城交付迦勒底人的手和巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒的手，他必攻取這城；
29 And the Chaldeans shall come and fight against this city, and shall uproot this city and set fire to it, together with the houses upon whose roofs the people have offered incense to Baal and poured out drink offerings to other gods to provoke me to anger.	29 攻城的迦勒底人必來放火焚燒這城和其中的房屋，人在這房屋上［upon whose roofs they］曾向巴力獻［offered］香，向別神澆奠，惹我發怒。
30 For the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only that which is evil before me from their youth; for the children of Israel have always provoked me to anger with the work of their hands, says the LORD.	30 以色列人和猶大人自從幼年以來，在我面前專行惡事［only done evil before me］；以色列人盡以手所作的惹我發怒。這是耶和華說的。

42 For thus says the LORD: Just as I have brought all this great evil upon this people, so will I bring them all the good that I promise them.	42 「因為耶和華如此說：我怎樣使這一切大禍臨到這百姓，我也要照樣使我所應許他們的一切福樂都臨到他們。
43 And fields shall be bought in this land, of which you say, It is desolate, without man and beast; and it is delivered into the hand of the Chaldeans.	43 你們說，這地是荒涼、無人民、無牲畜，是交付迦勒底人手之地。日後在這境內，必有人置買田地。
44 Men shall buy fields for money, and write deeds and seal them and call witnesses in the land of Benjamin and in the places about Jerusalem and in the cities of Judah and in the cities of the mountains and in the cities of the valleys and in the cities of the south; for I will bring them back from their captivity, says the LORD.	44 在便雅憫地、耶路撒冷四圍的各處、猶大的城邑、山地的城邑、谷地［valley］的城邑，並南地的城邑，人必用錢［money］買田地，在契上畫押，將契封緘，請出見證人，因為我必使被擄的人歸回。這是耶和華說的。」
