Chapter 14

1 AFTER two days, the passover of un leavened bread was to come; and the high priests and the scribes were seeking how to seize him by craft and kill him.

2 And they said, Not during the feast, for it may cause a riot among the people.

3 When he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, while he reclined, there came a woman who had with her an alabaster vessel of perfume of pure nard, of good quality and very expensive; and she opened it, and poured it upon the head of Jesus.

4 But there were some men of the disciples who were displeased within themselves, and said, Why was this perfume wasted?

5 For it could have been sold for more than three hundred pennies and given to the poor. So they annoyed her.

6 Jesus said, Leave her alone; why do you trouble her? She has done a good work to me.

7 For you always have the poor with you, and when you wish, you can do good to them; but I am not always with you.

8 But this one has done it with what she had; she anointed my body in advance as for the burial.

9 And truly I say to you, Wherever this my gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.

10 Then Judas of Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the high priests, to deliver Jesus to them.

11 When they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought an opportunity to deliver him.

12 On the first day of unleavened bread, on which the Jews sacrifice the passover, his disciples said to him, Where do you wish that we go and prepare the passover for you to eat?

13 And he sent two of his disciples, and said to them, Go to the city, and behold you will meet a man carrying a vessel of water; follow him.

14 And wherever he enters, say to the owner of the house, Our master says, Where is the guestchamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?

15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.

16 And his disciples went out and came to the city, and they found just as he had told them; and they prepared the passover.

17 And when it was evening, he came with his twelve.

18 And when they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, Truly I say to you, One of you who eats with me, he will betray me.

19 They began to feel troubled, and said to him one by one, Why, is it I?

20 But he said to them, One of the twelve who dips with me in the dish.

21 The Son of man will go, as it is written of him; but woe to the man by whose hand the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been far better for that man never to have been born.

22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and he broke it, and gave it to them, and he said to them, Take it; this is my body.

23 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and he blessed it and gave it to them, and they all drank of it.

24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for the sake of many.

25 Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine, until that day in which I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

26 And they offered praise, and went out to the Mount of Olives.

27 Then Jesus said to them, All of you will deny me this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and his sheep will scatter.

28 But when I am risen, I will be in Galilee before you.

29 Peter said to him, Even if all of them should deny you, but not I.

30 Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, that you, today, in this night, before the cock crows twice, will deny me three times.

31 But he kept telling him still more, Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you, O my Lord. All the disciples said also, like him.

32 And they came to a place, which is called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, Sit down here, while I pray.

33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and he began to be sorrowful and oppressed.

34 And he said to them, My soul is sorrowful even to death; wait for me and keep awake.

35 And he went a little aside, and fell on the ground, and prayed, that if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.

36 And he said, Abba, Ave, O Father, my Father, you can do everything; make this cup pass away from me; but not according to my will, but yours.

37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not keep awake even for one hour?

38 Awake and pray, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing and ready, but the body is weak.

39 He went away again and prayed, and he said the same word.

40 And he returned again, and came and found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to say to him.

41 Then he came the third time, and said to them, From now on sleep and get rest; the end has arrived and the hour has come; and behold, the Son of man will be delivered into the hands of sinners.

42 Arise, let us go; behold, he who is to deliver me is near.

43 While he was speaking, Judas of Iscariot, one of the twelve, came and many other people, with swords and staves, from the high priests and the scribes and the elders.

44 And the traitor who was to do the delivering gave them a sign, and he said, He whom I kiss, it is he; seize him carefully, and take him away.

45 And immediately he drew near and said to him, My teacher, my teacher; and he kissed him.

46 And they laid hands on him and arrested him.

47 But one of those who stood by drew a sword, and struck it at the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

48 And Jesus answered and said to them, Have you come out against me as against a bandit, with swords and staves to arrest me?

49 I was with you every day teaching in the temple, and you did not arrest me; but this has happened so that the scriptures might be fulfilled.

50 Then his disciples left him and fled.

51 And a young man was following him, naked, with a loin cloth around him; and they seized him.

52 But he left the loin cloth, and fled naked.

53 And they took Jesus to Caiaphas the high priest; and there gathered to him all the high priests and the scribes and the elders.

54 But Simon followed him afar off, up to the courtyard of the high priest; and he sat with the servants, warming himself before the fire.

55 The high priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus so that they might put him to death; but they could not find it.

56 For even though many testified against him, their testimonies were not worthy.

57 Then some men, who were false witnesses, stood up against him, and said,

58 We heard him say, I will tear down this temple which is made with hands, and in three days I will build another which is not made with hands.

59 But even this testimony was not worthy.

60 Then the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, and said, Do you not answer? What do these testify against you?

61 But Jesus was silent, and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, and said, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?

62 Jesus said to him, I am; and you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of the sky.

63 Then the high priest tore his robe, and said, Why therefore do we need witnesses?

64 Behold, you have heard blasphemy from his own mouth; what do you think? And they all decided that he is guilty of death.

65 Then some of the men began to spit in his face, and to cover his face, and to strike him on his head, saying, Prophesy; and the soldiers smote him on his cheeks.

66 And when Simon was below in the courtyard, there came a young maidservant of the high priest;

67 And she saw him warming himself, and looked at him, and said to him, You also were with Jesus the Nazarene.

68 But he denied it and said, I do not understand what you are saying. Then he went out to the porch, and the cock crowed.

69 And the same young maid saw him, and began to say to those who stood by, This one also is one of them.

70 But he denied it again. And a little later, those who stood by said to Peter, Truly you are one of them, for you also are a Galilean, and even your speech is like theirs.

71 And he began to curse and to swear, I do not know this man of whom you speak.

72 At that very hour the cock crowed the second time. And Simon remembered the word that Jesus said to him, Before the cock crows twice you will deny me thrice. And then he began to weep. Jesus before Caiaphas.

Kapitel 14

1 Und1161 nach3326 zwei1417 Tagen war2258 Ostern3957 und2532 die Tage2250 der süßen Brote106. Und2532 die Hohenpriester749 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122 suchten, wie4459 sie846 ihn mit1722 List1388 griffen2902 und2212 töteten615.

2 Sie sprachen3004 aber1161: Ja nicht3361 auf das Fest1859, daß nicht3379 ein Aufruhr2351 im1722 Volk2992 werde2071!

3 Und2532 da er zu1722 Bethanien963 war in1722 Simons4613, des Aussätzigen3015, Hause3614 und2532 saß2621 zu Tisch, da kam2064 ein Weib1135, die hatte2192 ein Glas211 mit2596 ungefälschtem4101 und köstlichem4185 Nardenwasser3464; und sie zerbrach4937 das5607 Glas211 und goß2708 es auf sein Haupt2776.

4 Da2532 waren2258 etliche5100, die1438 wurden1096 unwillig23 und1161 sprachen3004: Was4314 soll1096 doch dieser3778 Unrat?

5 Man könnte1410 das5124 Wasser um mehr1883 denn1063 dreihundert5145 Groschen1220 verkauft4097 haben und2532 dasselbe den Armen4434 geben1325. Und2532 murreten über1690 sie846.

6 JEsus2424 aber1161 sprach2036: Lasset863 sie846 mit Frieden! Was5101 bekümmert ihr846 sie? Sie hat ein gut2570 Werk2041 an1519 mir1691 getan2038.

7 Ihr2309 habt2192 allezeit3842 Arme4434 bei3326 euch1438; und1063 wann3752 ihr1410 wollet, könnet ihr846 ihnen Gutes tun4160; mich1691 aber1161 habt2192 ihr nicht2532 allezeit3842.

8 Sie3778 hat2192 getan4160, was3739 sie konnte; sie ist zuvorkommen, meinen3450 Leichnam4983 zu1519 salben3462 zu meinem Begräbnis1780.

9 Wahrlich281, ich302 sage euch5213, wo dies3778 Evangelium2098 geprediget wird2784 in1519 aller3650 Welt2889, da wird man auch2532 das5124 sagen3004 zu1519 ihrem Gedächtnis3422, was sie846 jetzt getan4160 hat2980.

10 Und2532 Judas2455 Ischariot2469, einer1520 von den Zwölfen1427, ging565 hin zu4314 den Hohenpriestern749, daß2443 er846 ihn846 verriete3860.

11 Da2532 sie5463 das höreten, wurden sie froh und1161 verhießen1861, ihm das Geld694 zu191 geben1325. Und2532 er846 suchte2212, wie4459 er846 ihn füglich2122 verriete3860.

12 Und2532 am ersten4413 Tage2250 der süßen Brote106, da3753 man das Osterlamm3957 opferte2380, sprachen3004 seine846 Jünger3101 zu ihm846: Wo4226 willst2309 du, daß2443 wir hingehen565 und bereiten2090, daß du das Osterlamm3957 essest5315?

13 Und2532 er846 sandte649 seiner Jünger3101 zwei1417 und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen846: Gehet hin5217 in die Stadt4172, und2532 es wird euch5213 ein Mensch444 begegnen528, der trägt941 einen Krug2765 mit Wasser5204; folget ihm190 nach1519.

14 Und2532 wo1437 er2076 eingehet, da sprechet zu dem Hauswirte: Der Meister1320 läßt dir sagen2036: Wo4226 ist1525 das Gasthaus2646, darinnen ich das Osterlamm3957 esse5315 mit3326 meinen3450 Jüngern3101?

15 Und2532 er846 wird euch5213 einen großen3173 Saal508 zeigen1166, der gepflastert und bereit2092 ist; daselbst1563 richtet2090 für uns2254 zu.

16 Und2532 die Jünger3101 gingen2064 aus und2532 kamen1831 in1519 die Stadt4172 und2532 fanden‘s2147, wie2531 er846 ihnen846 gesagt hatte2036; und2532 bereiteten2090 das Osterlamm3957.

17 Am Abend3798 aber2532 kam1096 er2064 mit3326 den Zwölfen1427.

18 Und2532 als sie846 zu345 Tische saßen und2532 aßen2068, sprach2036 JEsus2424: Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5216, einer unter1537 euch, der1520 mit3326 mir1700 isset2068, wird mich3165 verraten3860.

19 Und1161 sie846 wurden756 traurig3076 und2532 sagten3004 zu ihm, einer nach dem andern: Bin ich1473‘s? und2532 der andere243: Bin ich1473‘s?

20 Er846 antwortete611 und1161 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Einer aus1537 den Zwölfen1427, der1520 mit3326 mir1700 in1519 die Schüssel5165 tauchet.

21 Zwar3303 des846 Menschen444 Sohn gehet hin5217, wie2531 von4012 ihm geschrieben1125 stehet; wehe3759 aber1161 dem3739 Menschen444, durch1223 welchen des Menschen444 Sohn verraten3860 wird! Es1565 wäre2258 demselben1565 Menschen444 besser2570, daß1487 er846 nie3756 geboren1080 wäre1080.

22 Und2532 indem sie846 aßen2068, nahm2983 JEsus2424 das5124 Brot740, dankete und2532 brach‘s2806 und2532 gab‘s1325 ihnen846 und sprach2036: Nehmet2983, esset5315; das ist2076 mein3450 Leib4983.

23 Und2532 nahm2983 den Kelch4221 und2532 dankete und gab1325 ihnen846 den; und sie846 tranken4095 alle3956 daraus1537.

24 Und2532 er846 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Das5124 ist2076 mein3450 Blut129 des Neuen2537 Testaments1242, das3588 für4012 viele4183 vergossen wird1632.

25 Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5213, daß3752 ich hinfort3765 nicht3364 trinken4095 werde vom1537 Gewächse des846 Weinstocks288 bis2193 auf den Tag2250, da ich‘s neu2537 trinke4095 in1722 dem1565 Reich932 Gottes2316.

26 Und2532 da sie den Lobgesang gesprochen hatten5214, gingen sie hinaus1831 an1519 den Ölberg3735.

27 Und2532 JEsus2424 sprach3004 zu ihnen: Ihr werdet euch in1722 dieser Nacht3571 alle3956 an mir1698 ärgern4624. Denn3754 es stehet geschrieben1125: Ich werde den Hirten4166 schlagen3960, und2532 die5026 Schafe4263 werden sich zerstreuen1287.

28 Aber235 nachdem ich3165 auferstehe1453, will ich vor1519 euch5209 hingehen4254 nach3326 Galiläa1056.

29 Petrus4074 aber1161 sagte5346 zu ihm: Und235 wenn1487 sie846 sich alle3956 ärgerten, so wollte doch ich1473 mich nicht3756 ärgern4624.

30 Und2532 JEsus2424 sprach3004 zu ihm846: Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 dir4671, heute4594 in1722 dieser5026 Nacht3571, ehe denn3754 der Hahn220 zweimal1364 krähet, wirst du mich3165 dreimal5151 verleugnen533.

31 Er aber1161 redete3004 noch weiter3123: Ja, wenn1437 ich3165 mit dir4571 auch2532 sterben4880 müßte1163, wollt‘ ich dich4671 nicht4053 verleugnen533. Desselbigengleichen sagten3004 sie alle3956.

32 Und2532 sie kamen2064 zu1519 dem3739 Hofe5564 mit Namen3686 Gethsemane1068. Und2532 er sprach3004 zu seinen Jüngern3101: Setzet2523 euch hier5602, bis2193 ich hingehe und bete4336.

33 Und2532 nahm3880 zu3326 sich1438 Petrus4074 und2532 Jakobus2385 und2532 Johannes2491 und2532 fing756 an zu zittern1568 und2532 zu zagen85.

34 Und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen846: Meine3450 See LE5590 ist2076 betrübt4036 bis2193 an den Tod2288; enthaltet euch hier5602 und2532 wachet1127.

35 Und2532 ging ein wenig3397 fürbaß, fiel4098 auf1909 die575 Erde1093 und2532 betete4336, daß2443, so1487 es846 möglich1415 wäre2076, die Stunde5610 vorüberginge3928,

36 und2532 sprach3004: Abba5, mein Vater3962, es ist dir4671 alles3956 möglich1415, überhebe575 mich1700 dieses Kelchs4221; doch235 nicht3756 was5101 ich5124 will2309, sondern235 was5101 du4771 willst.

37 Und2532 kam2064 und2532 fand2147 sie846 schlafend2518 und2532 sprach3004 zu Petrus4074: Simon4613, schläfest du2480? Vermochtest du nicht3756 eine3391 Stunde5610 zu wachen1127?

38 Wachet1127 und2532 betet4336, daß3363 ihr nicht in1519 Versuchung3986 fallet1525! Der Geist4151 ist3303 willig4289; aber1161 das Fleisch4561 ist schwach772.

39 Und2532 ging565 wieder3825 hin und846 betete4336 und sprach2036 dieselbigen Worte3056.

40 Und2532 kam wieder5290 und fand2147 sie846 abermal schlafend2518; denn1063 ihre Augen3788 waren2258 voll Schlafs916, und wußten1492 nicht3756, was5101 sie846 ihm846 antworteten611.

41 Und2532 er kam2064 zum drittenmal5154 und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen: Ach, wollt ihr846 nun3063 schlafen2518 und2532 ruhen373? Es ist genug566; die Stunde5610 ist kommen2064. Siehe2400, des Menschen444 Sohn wird überantwortet3860 in1519 der Sünder268 Hände5495.

42 Stehet auf1453, laßt uns gehen71; siehe2400, der mich3165 verrät3860, ist nahe1448!

43 Und2532 alsbald2112, da er846 noch2089 redete2980, kam3854 herzu Judas2455, der Zwölfen1427 einer5607, und2532 eine große4183 Schar3793 mit3326 ihm, mit3326 Schwertern3162 und2532 mit Stangen3586 von3844 den Hohenpriestern749 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Ältesten4245.

44 Und1161 der Verräter846 hatte3860 ihnen846 ein Zeichen4953 gegeben1325 und2532 gesagt3004: Welchen ich302 küssen5368 werde, der ist‘s2076; den846 greifet2902 und führet520 ihn846 gewiß806.

45 Und2532 da er846 kam2064, trat er846 bald2112 zu4334 ihm und2532 sprach3004 zu ihm: Rabbi4461, Rabbi4461! und küssete ihn.

46 Die aber1161 legten1911 ihre Hände5495 an1909 ihn846 und2532 griffen2902 ihn846.

47 Einer5100 aber1161 von denen, die dabeistunden, zog4685 sein Schwert3162 aus und2532 schlug3817 des846 Hohenpriesters749 Knecht1401 und hieb ihm ein1520 Ohr5621 ab851.

48 Und2532 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und2532 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Ihr846 seid ausgegangen1831 als5613 zu einem Mörder3027 mit1909 Schwertern3162 und mit3326 Stangen3586, mich3165 zu fangen4815.

49 Ich bin täglich bei1722 euch5209 im2596 Tempel2411 gewesen und2532 habe2252 gelehret, und235 ihr habt mich3165 nicht3756 gegriffen2902; aber2443 auf daß4314 die Schrift1124 erfüllet4137 werde.

50 Und2532 die Jünger verließen863 ihn846 alle3956 und flohen5343.

51 Und2532 es war ein5100 Jüngling3495, der1520 folgete ihm846 nach190, der war mit Leinwand4616 bekleidet4016 auf1909 der bloßen1131 Haut; und2532 die Jünglinge3495 griffen2902 ihn846.

52 Er846 aber1161 ließ2641 die Leinwand4616 fahren und floh5343 bloß1131 von575 ihnen.

53 Und2532 sie846 führeten JEsum2424 zu4314 dem Hohenpriester749, dahin zusammenkommen4905 waren alle3956 Hohenpriester749 und2532 Ältesten4245 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122.

54 Petrus4074 aber folgete ihm nach190 von575 ferne3113 bis2193 hinein in1519 des Hohenpriesters749 Palast833; und2532 er846 war2258 da und2532 saß4775 bei3326 den Knechten5257 und2532 wärmete sich2328 bei4314 dem Licht5457.

55 Aber1161 die Hohenpriester749 und2532 der2532 ganze3650 Rat4892 suchten Zeugnis3141 wider2596 JEsum2424, auf1519 daß sie846 ihn zum Tode2289 brächten, und2212 fanden2147 nichts3756.

56 Viele4183 gaben falsch Zeugnis5576 wider2596 ihn; aber1063 ihr846 Zeugnis3141 stimmte nicht2532 überein2258.

57 Und2532 etliche5100 stunden auf450 und gaben falsch Zeugnis5576 wider2596 ihn846 und sprachen3004:

58 Wir2249 haben191 gehöret, daß3754 er846 sagte: Ich1473 will den5126 Tempel3485, der mit Händen gemacht5499 ist, abbrechen2647 und2532 in1223 dreien5140 Tagen2250 einen andern243 bauen3618, der nicht mit Händen gemacht886 sei.

59 Aber3779 ihr Zeugnis3141 stimmete noch3761 nicht2532 überein2470.

60 Und2532 der Hohepriester749 stund auf450 unter sie und fragte1905 JEsum2424 und sprach3004: Antwortest du611 nichts3756 zu1519 dem, was5101 diese3778 wider dich4675 zeugen2649?

61 Er846 aber1161 schwieg stille und2532 antwortete611 nichts3762. Da fragte1905 ihn der Hohepriester749 abermal und2532 sprach3004 zu ihm: Bist1488 du4771 Christus5547, der Sohn des846 Hochgelobten2128?

62 JEsus2424 aber1161 sprach2036: Ich1473 bin‘s1510. Und2532 ihr werdet sehen3700 des Menschen444 Sohn sitzen2521 zur1537 rechten1188 Hand der Kraft1411 und2532 kommen2064 mit3326 des Himmels3772 Wolken3507.

63 Da zerriß1284 der Hohepriester749 seinen Rock5509 und1161 sprach3004: Was5101 bedürfen5532 wir2192 weiter2089 Zeugen3144?

64 Ihr846 habt191 gehöret die Gotteslästerung988; was5101 dünket euch5213? Sie aber1161 verdammeten ihn alle3956, daß er des Todes2288 schuldig1777 wäre5316.

65 Da2532 fingen an756 etliche5100, ihn846 zu verspeien1716 und2532 zu verdecken4028 sein846 Angesicht4383 und2532 mit Fäusten2852 zu schlagen und2532 zu ihm846 zu sagen3004: Weissage4395 uns! Und2532 die846 Knechte5257 schlugen906 ihn846 ins Angesicht4475.

66 Und2532 Petrus4074 war5607 danieden im1722 Palast833; da kam2064 des Hohenpriester749 Mägde3814 eine3391.

67 Und2532 da sie1689 sah1492 Petrus4074 sich2328 wärmen, schauete sie846 ihn an und2532 sprach3004: Und2532 du4771 warest auch mit3326 JEsu2424 von Nazareth3479.

68 Er leugnete720 aber1161 und2532 sprach3004: Ich kenne ihn nicht3756, weiß1492 auch nicht3761, was5101 du4771 sagest3004. Und2532 er ging hinaus1831 in1519 den Vorhof4259; und der Hahn220 krähete.

69 Und2532 die846 Magd3814 sah1492 ihn846 und1537 hub abermal an756, zu3936 sagen3004 denen, die dabei stunden: Dieser ist3825 der3778 einer.

70 Und1161 er846 leugnete720 abermal. Und2532 nach3326 einer kleinen Weile3397 sprachen3004 abermal zu3936 Petrus4074, die dabeistunden: Wahrlich230, du bist1488 der1537 einer; denn1063 du bist1488 ein Galiläer1057, und deine4675 Sprache2981 lautet gleich3662 also.

71 Er aber1161 fing756 an, sich zu verfluchen332 und2532 zu schwören3660: Ich kenne1492 des5126 Menschen444 nicht3756, von dem3739 ihr3004 saget.

72 Und2532 der Hahn220 krähete zum andernmal1208. Da2532 gedachte363 Petrus4074 an1537 das3739 Wort4487, das JEsus2424 zu ihm sagte2036: Ehe4250 der Hahn220 zweimal1364 krähet, wirst du mich3165 dreimal5151 verleugnen533. Und2532 er hub an1911 zu weinen2799.

Chapter 14

Das Evangelium nach Markus

Kapitel 14

1 AFTER two days, the passover of un leavened bread was to come; and the high priests and the scribes were seeking how to seize him by craft and kill him.

1 Und1161 nach3326 zwei1417 Tagen war2258 Ostern3957 und2532 die Tage2250 der süßen Brote106. Und2532 die Hohenpriester749 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122 suchten, wie4459 sie846 ihn mit1722 List1388 griffen2902 und2212 töteten615.

2 And they said, Not during the feast, for it may cause a riot among the people.

2 Sie sprachen3004 aber1161: Ja nicht3361 auf das Fest1859, daß nicht3379 ein Aufruhr2351 im1722 Volk2992 werde2071!

3 When he was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper, while he reclined, there came a woman who had with her an alabaster vessel of perfume of pure nard, of good quality and very expensive; and she opened it, and poured it upon the head of Jesus.

3 Und2532 da er zu1722 Bethanien963 war in1722 Simons4613, des Aussätzigen3015, Hause3614 und2532 saß2621 zu Tisch, da kam2064 ein Weib1135, die hatte2192 ein Glas211 mit2596 ungefälschtem4101 und köstlichem4185 Nardenwasser3464; und sie zerbrach4937 das5607 Glas211 und goß2708 es auf sein Haupt2776.

4 But there were some men of the disciples who were displeased within themselves, and said, Why was this perfume wasted?

4 Da2532 waren2258 etliche5100, die1438 wurden1096 unwillig23 und1161 sprachen3004: Was4314 soll1096 doch dieser3778 Unrat?

5 For it could have been sold for more than three hundred pennies and given to the poor. So they annoyed her.

5 Man könnte1410 das5124 Wasser um mehr1883 denn1063 dreihundert5145 Groschen1220 verkauft4097 haben und2532 dasselbe den Armen4434 geben1325. Und2532 murreten über1690 sie846.

6 Jesus said, Leave her alone; why do you trouble her? She has done a good work to me.

6 JEsus2424 aber1161 sprach2036: Lasset863 sie846 mit Frieden! Was5101 bekümmert ihr846 sie? Sie hat ein gut2570 Werk2041 an1519 mir1691 getan2038.

7 For you always have the poor with you, and when you wish, you can do good to them; but I am not always with you.

7 Ihr2309 habt2192 allezeit3842 Arme4434 bei3326 euch1438; und1063 wann3752 ihr1410 wollet, könnet ihr846 ihnen Gutes tun4160; mich1691 aber1161 habt2192 ihr nicht2532 allezeit3842.

8 But this one has done it with what she had; she anointed my body in advance as for the burial.

8 Sie3778 hat2192 getan4160, was3739 sie konnte; sie ist zuvorkommen, meinen3450 Leichnam4983 zu1519 salben3462 zu meinem Begräbnis1780.

9 And truly I say to you, Wherever this my gospel is preached throughout the world, what she has done will also be told as a memorial to her.

9 Wahrlich281, ich302 sage euch5213, wo dies3778 Evangelium2098 geprediget wird2784 in1519 aller3650 Welt2889, da wird man auch2532 das5124 sagen3004 zu1519 ihrem Gedächtnis3422, was sie846 jetzt getan4160 hat2980.

10 Then Judas of Iscariot, one of the twelve, went to the high priests, to deliver Jesus to them.

10 Und2532 Judas2455 Ischariot2469, einer1520 von den Zwölfen1427, ging565 hin zu4314 den Hohenpriestern749, daß2443 er846 ihn846 verriete3860.

11 When they heard it, they were glad, and promised to give him money. So he sought an opportunity to deliver him.

11 Da2532 sie5463 das höreten, wurden sie froh und1161 verhießen1861, ihm das Geld694 zu191 geben1325. Und2532 er846 suchte2212, wie4459 er846 ihn füglich2122 verriete3860.

12 On the first day of unleavened bread, on which the Jews sacrifice the passover, his disciples said to him, Where do you wish that we go and prepare the passover for you to eat?

12 Und2532 am ersten4413 Tage2250 der süßen Brote106, da3753 man das Osterlamm3957 opferte2380, sprachen3004 seine846 Jünger3101 zu ihm846: Wo4226 willst2309 du, daß2443 wir hingehen565 und bereiten2090, daß du das Osterlamm3957 essest5315?

13 And he sent two of his disciples, and said to them, Go to the city, and behold you will meet a man carrying a vessel of water; follow him.

13 Und2532 er846 sandte649 seiner Jünger3101 zwei1417 und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen846: Gehet hin5217 in die Stadt4172, und2532 es wird euch5213 ein Mensch444 begegnen528, der trägt941 einen Krug2765 mit Wasser5204; folget ihm190 nach1519.

14 And wherever he enters, say to the owner of the house, Our master says, Where is the guestchamber, where I may eat the passover with my disciples?

14 Und2532 wo1437 er2076 eingehet, da sprechet zu dem Hauswirte: Der Meister1320 läßt dir sagen2036: Wo4226 ist1525 das Gasthaus2646, darinnen ich das Osterlamm3957 esse5315 mit3326 meinen3450 Jüngern3101?

15 And he will show you a large upper room furnished and prepared; there make ready for us.

15 Und2532 er846 wird euch5213 einen großen3173 Saal508 zeigen1166, der gepflastert und bereit2092 ist; daselbst1563 richtet2090 für uns2254 zu.

16 And his disciples went out and came to the city, and they found just as he had told them; and they prepared the passover.

16 Und2532 die Jünger3101 gingen2064 aus und2532 kamen1831 in1519 die Stadt4172 und2532 fanden‘s2147, wie2531 er846 ihnen846 gesagt hatte2036; und2532 bereiteten2090 das Osterlamm3957.

17 And when it was evening, he came with his twelve.

17 Am Abend3798 aber2532 kam1096 er2064 mit3326 den Zwölfen1427.

18 And when they were reclining and eating, Jesus said, Truly I say to you, One of you who eats with me, he will betray me.

18 Und2532 als sie846 zu345 Tische saßen und2532 aßen2068, sprach2036 JEsus2424: Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5216, einer unter1537 euch, der1520 mit3326 mir1700 isset2068, wird mich3165 verraten3860.

19 They began to feel troubled, and said to him one by one, Why, is it I?

19 Und1161 sie846 wurden756 traurig3076 und2532 sagten3004 zu ihm, einer nach dem andern: Bin ich1473‘s? und2532 der andere243: Bin ich1473‘s?

20 But he said to them, One of the twelve who dips with me in the dish.

20 Er846 antwortete611 und1161 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Einer aus1537 den Zwölfen1427, der1520 mit3326 mir1700 in1519 die Schüssel5165 tauchet.

21 The Son of man will go, as it is written of him; but woe to the man by whose hand the Son of man is betrayed! It would have been far better for that man never to have been born.

21 Zwar3303 des846 Menschen444 Sohn gehet hin5217, wie2531 von4012 ihm geschrieben1125 stehet; wehe3759 aber1161 dem3739 Menschen444, durch1223 welchen des Menschen444 Sohn verraten3860 wird! Es1565 wäre2258 demselben1565 Menschen444 besser2570, daß1487 er846 nie3756 geboren1080 wäre1080.

22 While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and blessed it, and he broke it, and gave it to them, and he said to them, Take it; this is my body.

22 Und2532 indem sie846 aßen2068, nahm2983 JEsus2424 das5124 Brot740, dankete und2532 brach‘s2806 und2532 gab‘s1325 ihnen846 und sprach2036: Nehmet2983, esset5315; das ist2076 mein3450 Leib4983.

23 And he took the cup, and gave thanks, and he blessed it and gave it to them, and they all drank of it.

23 Und2532 nahm2983 den Kelch4221 und2532 dankete und gab1325 ihnen846 den; und sie846 tranken4095 alle3956 daraus1537.

24 And he said to them, This is my blood of the new covenant, which is shed for the sake of many.

24 Und2532 er846 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Das5124 ist2076 mein3450 Blut129 des Neuen2537 Testaments1242, das3588 für4012 viele4183 vergossen wird1632.

25 Truly I say to you, I shall not drink again of the fruit of the vine, until that day in which I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

25 Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 euch5213, daß3752 ich hinfort3765 nicht3364 trinken4095 werde vom1537 Gewächse des846 Weinstocks288 bis2193 auf den Tag2250, da ich‘s neu2537 trinke4095 in1722 dem1565 Reich932 Gottes2316.

26 And they offered praise, and went out to the Mount of Olives.

26 Und2532 da sie den Lobgesang gesprochen hatten5214, gingen sie hinaus1831 an1519 den Ölberg3735.

27 Then Jesus said to them, All of you will deny me this night; for it is written, I will smite the shepherd, and his sheep will scatter.

27 Und2532 JEsus2424 sprach3004 zu ihnen: Ihr werdet euch in1722 dieser Nacht3571 alle3956 an mir1698 ärgern4624. Denn3754 es stehet geschrieben1125: Ich werde den Hirten4166 schlagen3960, und2532 die5026 Schafe4263 werden sich zerstreuen1287.

28 But when I am risen, I will be in Galilee before you.

28 Aber235 nachdem ich3165 auferstehe1453, will ich vor1519 euch5209 hingehen4254 nach3326 Galiläa1056.

29 Peter said to him, Even if all of them should deny you, but not I.

29 Petrus4074 aber1161 sagte5346 zu ihm: Und235 wenn1487 sie846 sich alle3956 ärgerten, so wollte doch ich1473 mich nicht3756 ärgern4624.

30 Jesus said to him, Truly I say to you, that you, today, in this night, before the cock crows twice, will deny me three times.

30 Und2532 JEsus2424 sprach3004 zu ihm846: Wahrlich281, ich sage3004 dir4671, heute4594 in1722 dieser5026 Nacht3571, ehe denn3754 der Hahn220 zweimal1364 krähet, wirst du mich3165 dreimal5151 verleugnen533.

31 But he kept telling him still more, Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you, O my Lord. All the disciples said also, like him.

31 Er aber1161 redete3004 noch weiter3123: Ja, wenn1437 ich3165 mit dir4571 auch2532 sterben4880 müßte1163, wollt‘ ich dich4671 nicht4053 verleugnen533. Desselbigengleichen sagten3004 sie alle3956.

32 And they came to a place, which is called Gethsemane; and he said to his disciples, Sit down here, while I pray.

32 Und2532 sie kamen2064 zu1519 dem3739 Hofe5564 mit Namen3686 Gethsemane1068. Und2532 er sprach3004 zu seinen Jüngern3101: Setzet2523 euch hier5602, bis2193 ich hingehe und bete4336.

33 And he took with him Peter and James and John, and he began to be sorrowful and oppressed.

33 Und2532 nahm3880 zu3326 sich1438 Petrus4074 und2532 Jakobus2385 und2532 Johannes2491 und2532 fing756 an zu zittern1568 und2532 zu zagen85.

34 And he said to them, My soul is sorrowful even to death; wait for me and keep awake.

34 Und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen846: Meine3450 See LE5590 ist2076 betrübt4036 bis2193 an den Tod2288; enthaltet euch hier5602 und2532 wachet1127.

35 And he went a little aside, and fell on the ground, and prayed, that if it were possible, the hour might pass away from him.

35 Und2532 ging ein wenig3397 fürbaß, fiel4098 auf1909 die575 Erde1093 und2532 betete4336, daß2443, so1487 es846 möglich1415 wäre2076, die Stunde5610 vorüberginge3928,

36 And he said, Abba, Ave, O Father, my Father, you can do everything; make this cup pass away from me; but not according to my will, but yours.

36 und2532 sprach3004: Abba5, mein Vater3962, es ist dir4671 alles3956 möglich1415, überhebe575 mich1700 dieses Kelchs4221; doch235 nicht3756 was5101 ich5124 will2309, sondern235 was5101 du4771 willst.

37 And he came and found them sleeping, and he said to Peter, Simon, are you sleeping? Could you not keep awake even for one hour?

37 Und2532 kam2064 und2532 fand2147 sie846 schlafend2518 und2532 sprach3004 zu Petrus4074: Simon4613, schläfest du2480? Vermochtest du nicht3756 eine3391 Stunde5610 zu wachen1127?

38 Awake and pray, that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit indeed is willing and ready, but the body is weak.

38 Wachet1127 und2532 betet4336, daß3363 ihr nicht in1519 Versuchung3986 fallet1525! Der Geist4151 ist3303 willig4289; aber1161 das Fleisch4561 ist schwach772.

39 He went away again and prayed, and he said the same word.

39 Und2532 ging565 wieder3825 hin und846 betete4336 und sprach2036 dieselbigen Worte3056.

40 And he returned again, and came and found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy; and they did not know what to say to him.

40 Und2532 kam wieder5290 und fand2147 sie846 abermal schlafend2518; denn1063 ihre Augen3788 waren2258 voll Schlafs916, und wußten1492 nicht3756, was5101 sie846 ihm846 antworteten611.

41 Then he came the third time, and said to them, From now on sleep and get rest; the end has arrived and the hour has come; and behold, the Son of man will be delivered into the hands of sinners.

41 Und2532 er kam2064 zum drittenmal5154 und2532 sprach3004 zu ihnen: Ach, wollt ihr846 nun3063 schlafen2518 und2532 ruhen373? Es ist genug566; die Stunde5610 ist kommen2064. Siehe2400, des Menschen444 Sohn wird überantwortet3860 in1519 der Sünder268 Hände5495.

42 Arise, let us go; behold, he who is to deliver me is near.

42 Stehet auf1453, laßt uns gehen71; siehe2400, der mich3165 verrät3860, ist nahe1448!

43 While he was speaking, Judas of Iscariot, one of the twelve, came and many other people, with swords and staves, from the high priests and the scribes and the elders.

43 Und2532 alsbald2112, da er846 noch2089 redete2980, kam3854 herzu Judas2455, der Zwölfen1427 einer5607, und2532 eine große4183 Schar3793 mit3326 ihm, mit3326 Schwertern3162 und2532 mit Stangen3586 von3844 den Hohenpriestern749 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122 und2532 Ältesten4245.

44 And the traitor who was to do the delivering gave them a sign, and he said, He whom I kiss, it is he; seize him carefully, and take him away.

44 Und1161 der Verräter846 hatte3860 ihnen846 ein Zeichen4953 gegeben1325 und2532 gesagt3004: Welchen ich302 küssen5368 werde, der ist‘s2076; den846 greifet2902 und führet520 ihn846 gewiß806.

45 And immediately he drew near and said to him, My teacher, my teacher; and he kissed him.

45 Und2532 da er846 kam2064, trat er846 bald2112 zu4334 ihm und2532 sprach3004 zu ihm: Rabbi4461, Rabbi4461! und küssete ihn.

46 And they laid hands on him and arrested him.

46 Die aber1161 legten1911 ihre Hände5495 an1909 ihn846 und2532 griffen2902 ihn846.

47 But one of those who stood by drew a sword, and struck it at the servant of the high priest, and cut off his ear.

47 Einer5100 aber1161 von denen, die dabeistunden, zog4685 sein Schwert3162 aus und2532 schlug3817 des846 Hohenpriesters749 Knecht1401 und hieb ihm ein1520 Ohr5621 ab851.

48 And Jesus answered and said to them, Have you come out against me as against a bandit, with swords and staves to arrest me?

48 Und2532 JEsus2424 antwortete611 und2532 sprach2036 zu ihnen: Ihr846 seid ausgegangen1831 als5613 zu einem Mörder3027 mit1909 Schwertern3162 und mit3326 Stangen3586, mich3165 zu fangen4815.

49 I was with you every day teaching in the temple, and you did not arrest me; but this has happened so that the scriptures might be fulfilled.

49 Ich bin täglich bei1722 euch5209 im2596 Tempel2411 gewesen und2532 habe2252 gelehret, und235 ihr habt mich3165 nicht3756 gegriffen2902; aber2443 auf daß4314 die Schrift1124 erfüllet4137 werde.

50 Then his disciples left him and fled.

50 Und2532 die Jünger verließen863 ihn846 alle3956 und flohen5343.

51 And a young man was following him, naked, with a loin cloth around him; and they seized him.

51 Und2532 es war ein5100 Jüngling3495, der1520 folgete ihm846 nach190, der war mit Leinwand4616 bekleidet4016 auf1909 der bloßen1131 Haut; und2532 die Jünglinge3495 griffen2902 ihn846.

52 But he left the loin cloth, and fled naked.

52 Er846 aber1161 ließ2641 die Leinwand4616 fahren und floh5343 bloß1131 von575 ihnen.

53 And they took Jesus to Caiaphas the high priest; and there gathered to him all the high priests and the scribes and the elders.

53 Und2532 sie846 führeten JEsum2424 zu4314 dem Hohenpriester749, dahin zusammenkommen4905 waren alle3956 Hohenpriester749 und2532 Ältesten4245 und2532 Schriftgelehrten1122.

54 But Simon followed him afar off, up to the courtyard of the high priest; and he sat with the servants, warming himself before the fire.

54 Petrus4074 aber folgete ihm nach190 von575 ferne3113 bis2193 hinein in1519 des Hohenpriesters749 Palast833; und2532 er846 war2258 da und2532 saß4775 bei3326 den Knechten5257 und2532 wärmete sich2328 bei4314 dem Licht5457.

55 The high priests and the whole council were seeking testimony against Jesus so that they might put him to death; but they could not find it.

55 Aber1161 die Hohenpriester749 und2532 der2532 ganze3650 Rat4892 suchten Zeugnis3141 wider2596 JEsum2424, auf1519 daß sie846 ihn zum Tode2289 brächten, und2212 fanden2147 nichts3756.

56 For even though many testified against him, their testimonies were not worthy.

56 Viele4183 gaben falsch Zeugnis5576 wider2596 ihn; aber1063 ihr846 Zeugnis3141 stimmte nicht2532 überein2258.

57 Then some men, who were false witnesses, stood up against him, and said,

57 Und2532 etliche5100 stunden auf450 und gaben falsch Zeugnis5576 wider2596 ihn846 und sprachen3004:

58 We heard him say, I will tear down this temple which is made with hands, and in three days I will build another which is not made with hands.

58 Wir2249 haben191 gehöret, daß3754 er846 sagte: Ich1473 will den5126 Tempel3485, der mit Händen gemacht5499 ist, abbrechen2647 und2532 in1223 dreien5140 Tagen2250 einen andern243 bauen3618, der nicht mit Händen gemacht886 sei.

59 But even this testimony was not worthy.

59 Aber3779 ihr Zeugnis3141 stimmete noch3761 nicht2532 überein2470.

60 Then the high priest stood up in the midst, and asked Jesus, and said, Do you not answer? What do these testify against you?

60 Und2532 der Hohepriester749 stund auf450 unter sie und fragte1905 JEsum2424 und sprach3004: Antwortest du611 nichts3756 zu1519 dem, was5101 diese3778 wider dich4675 zeugen2649?

61 But Jesus was silent, and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, and said, Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed One?

61 Er846 aber1161 schwieg stille und2532 antwortete611 nichts3762. Da fragte1905 ihn der Hohepriester749 abermal und2532 sprach3004 zu ihm: Bist1488 du4771 Christus5547, der Sohn des846 Hochgelobten2128?

62 Jesus said to him, I am; and you will see the Son of man sitting at the right hand of power, and coming upon the clouds of the sky.

62 JEsus2424 aber1161 sprach2036: Ich1473 bin‘s1510. Und2532 ihr werdet sehen3700 des Menschen444 Sohn sitzen2521 zur1537 rechten1188 Hand der Kraft1411 und2532 kommen2064 mit3326 des Himmels3772 Wolken3507.

63 Then the high priest tore his robe, and said, Why therefore do we need witnesses?

63 Da zerriß1284 der Hohepriester749 seinen Rock5509 und1161 sprach3004: Was5101 bedürfen5532 wir2192 weiter2089 Zeugen3144?

64 Behold, you have heard blasphemy from his own mouth; what do you think? And they all decided that he is guilty of death.

64 Ihr846 habt191 gehöret die Gotteslästerung988; was5101 dünket euch5213? Sie aber1161 verdammeten ihn alle3956, daß er des Todes2288 schuldig1777 wäre5316.

65 Then some of the men began to spit in his face, and to cover his face, and to strike him on his head, saying, Prophesy; and the soldiers smote him on his cheeks.
