Chapter 8

1 AND when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about the space of half an hour.

2 Then I saw the seven angels, who stood before God; and seven trumpets were given to them.

3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, and he had a golden censer; and abundant incense was given to him, that he might offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.

4 And the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.

5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it upon the earth: and there were voices and thunderings and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels, who had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

7 The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with water, and they were poured upon the earth: and a third part of the earth was burnt up and a third part of the trees was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

8 Then the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain aflame with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood;

9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a star from heaven, burning as though it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

12 And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was eclipsed, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so that the third part of them was darkened, and the day was darkened for a third part of it, and the night likewise.

13 And I beheld, and heard an eagle having a tail red as it were blood, flying through the midst of heaven, saying with a loud voice, Woe, woe, woe to those who dwell on the earth, by reason of the other sounds of the trumpets of the three angels which are yet to sound!

4 And the smoke2586 of the incense,2368 which came with the prayers4335 of the saints,40 ascended305 up before1799 God2316 out of the angel's32 hand.5495

5 And the angel32 took4327 the censer,3031 and filled1072 it with fire4442 of the altar,2379 and cast906 it into1519 the earth:1093 and there were voices,5456 and thunder,1027 and lightning,796 and an earthquake.4578

6 And the seven2033 angels32 which3588 had2192 the seven2033 trumpets4536 prepared2090 themselves1438 to sound.4537

7 The first4413 angel32 sounded,4537 and there followed1096 hail5464 and fire4442 mingled3396 with blood,129 and they were cast906 on the earth:1093 and the third5154 part of trees1186 was burnt2618 up, and all3956 green5515 grass5528 was burnt2618 up.

8 And the second1208 angel32 sounded,4537 and as it were a great3173 mountain3735 burning2545 with fire4442 was cast906 into1519 the sea:2281 and the third5154 part of the sea2281 became1096 blood;129

9 And the third5154 part of the creatures2938 which3588 were in the sea,2281 and had2192 life,5590 died;599 and the third5154 part of the ships4143 were destroyed.1311

10 And the third5154 angel32 sounded,4537 and there fell4098 a great3173 star792 from heaven,3772 burning2545 as it were a lamp,2985 and it fell4098 on the third5154 part of the rivers,4215 and on the fountains4077 of waters;5204

11 And the name3686 of the star792 is called3004 Wormwood:894 and the third5154 part of the waters5204 became1096 1519 wormwood;894 and many4183 men444 died599 of the waters,5204 because3754 they were made4087 bitter.4087

12 And the fourth5067 angel32 sounded,4537 and the third5154 part of the sun2246 was smitten,4141 and the third5154 part of the moon,4582 and the third5154 part of the stars;792 so2443 as the third5154 part of them was darkened,4654 and the day2250 shone5316 not for a third5154 part of it, and the night3571 likewise.3668

13 And I beheld,1492 and heard191 an angel32 flying4072 through1722 the middle3321 of heaven,3321 saying3004 with a loud3173 voice,5456 Woe,3759 woe,3759 woe,3759 to the inhabitants2730 of the earth1093 by reason1537 of the other3062 voices5456 of the trumpet4536 of the three5140 angels,32 which3588 are yet3195 to sound!4537
