Chapter 10

1 AND the LORD said to Moses, Go in to Pharaoh; for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his servants, that I may perform these signs among them,

2 That you may relate in the presence of your son and of your son's son the things which I have done to the Egyptians and the signs which I have performed among them, that you may know that I am the LORD.

3 And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to fear me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

4 Else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts upon all Four domain;

5 And they shall cover the face of the land so that men cannot see the ground; and they shall eat the residue of that which is left to you from the hail and shall eat all the trees which have budded for you in the field;

6 And they shall fill your houses and the houses of your servants and the houses of all the Egyptians such as neither your fathers nor your grand fathers have seen, from the day that they were upon the earth even to this day. And they turned, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.

7 And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long shall we suffer this disaster? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?

8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve before the LORD your God; but who are they that are going?

9 And Moses said to him, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters; with our flocks and with our herds will we go, for it is a festival of the LORD for all of us.

10 And Pharaoh said to them, Let the LORD be with you, but when I let you and your little ones go, look to it; perhaps you have evil intent.

11 Let it not be so; go now, the older men, and serve before the LORD; for it is the rest that you desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

12 And the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat the herbs of the land, even all that the hail has left.

13 And Moses lifted up his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested in all the domain of the Egyptians; it was a great swarm; before them there were no such swarms of locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

15 For they covered the face of the whole earth so that the land was darkened; and they did eat all the herbs of the land and all the fruit of the trees which the hail had left; and there remained no leaf on the trees neither grass in the field, through al the land of Egypt.

16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said to them, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

17 Now therefore, forgive me my fault this time also, and pray before the LORD your God that he may re move from me this death.

18 And Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed be fore the LORD.

19 And the LORD turned a mighty strong west wind, which took away the locusts and cast them into the Red Sea; there remained not one locust in all the domain of Egypt.

20 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart so that he would not let the children of Israel go.

21 Then the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand toward the heaven that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt, even thick darkness.

22 And Moses lifted up his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;

23 They did not see one another, nor rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

24 And Pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before the LORD your God; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.

25 Then Moses said to Pharaoh. You must give us also sacrifices and burnt offerings that we may sacrifice to the LORD our God.

26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve before the LORD our God; and we do not know what else we must offer to the LORD until we come there.

27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.

28 And Pharaoh said to Moses. Get away from here, take heed to yourself, do not try to see my face again,

29 And Moses said, You have spoken well, I will not try to see your face any more.

2 чтобы ты мог потом рассказать детям и внукам, как сурово Я поступил с египтянами и как сотворил знамения среди них. Пусть они знают, что Я – Вечный.

3 Муса и Харун пришли к фараону и сказали ему: – Так говорит Вечный, Бог евреев: «Когда же, наконец, ты смиришься предо Мной? Отпусти Мой народ поклониться Мне.

4 Если ты откажешься, то завтра Я наведу на твою страну саранчу.

5 Она покроет землю так, что земли не будет видно. Она сожрёт всё то немногое, что осталось у вас после града, и даже деревья, которые растут у вас в полях.

6 Она заполнит твои дворцы, дома твоих приближённых и всех египтян: такого не видели ни твои отцы, ни деды с того дня, как поселились в этой земле, и до сегодняшнего дня». Муса повернулся и ушёл от фараона.

7 Приближённые фараона сказали ему: – Сколько ещё этот человек будет нас мучить? Отпусти этих людей поклониться Вечному, их Богу. Разве ты всё ещё не видишь, что Египет гибнет?

8 Тогда Мусу и Харуна вернули к фараону. – Пойдите, поклонитесь Вечному, вашему Богу, – сказал он. – Только кто же из вас пойдёт?

9 Муса ответил: – Мы пойдём с детьми и стариками, с сыновьями и дочерьми, с отарами и стадами: ведь у нас праздник Вечному.

10 Фараон сказал: – Если я когда-либо отпущу вас с женщинами и детьми, то Вечный действительно с вами! Но берегитесь, вас ждут большие неприятности.

11 Нет уж! Пусть одни мужчины пойдут поклоняться Вечному, раз вы об этом просите. И Мусу с Харуном выгнали от фараона.

12 Вечный сказал Мусе: – Протяни руку над египетской землёй, и появится саранча. Она сожрёт всё, что растёт в полях, всё то, что уцелело после града.

13 Муса простёр посох над Египтом, и Вечный навёл на землю восточный ветер, который дул весь день и всю ночь. К утру ветер принёс саранчу.

14 Она напала на Египет, опустившись на страну в огромном количестве. Такого нашествия саранчи не бывало прежде и не будет впредь.

15 Она покрыла всю землю, так что земля почернела. Она сожрала всё, что осталось после града – всё, что росло в полях, и плоды на деревьях. Ни на дереве, ни на каком другом растении во всём Египте не осталось зелени.

16 Фараон спешно позвал Мусу и Харуна и сказал: – Я согрешил перед Вечным, вашим Богом, и перед вами.

17 Простите мой грех всего лишь ещё один раз. Помолитесь Вечному, вашему Богу, чтобы Он избавил меня от этого несчастья.

18 Муса ушёл от фараона и помолился Вечному.

19 Вечный переменил ветер на очень сильный западный, который подхватил саранчу и унёс в Тростниковое море. . В Египте совсем не осталось саранчи.

20 Но Вечный сделал сердце фараона упрямым, и он не отпустил исраильтян.

21 Вечный сказал Мусе: – Подними руку к небу, и на Египет ляжет тьма – осязаемая тьма.

22 Муса поднял руку к небу, и непроницаемая тьма покрыла Египет на три дня.

23 Люди не могли ни видеть друг друга, ни передвигаться в течение трёх дней. А у исраильтян, там, где они жили, был свет.

24 Тогда фараон позвал Мусу и сказал: – Идите, поклонитесь Вечному. Оставьте здесь лишь ваши отары и стада, а женщины и дети пусть идут с вами.

25 Муса ответил: – Ты должен отпустить с нами скот, чтобы мы принесли жертвы всесожжения и пиршественные жертвы Вечному, нашему Богу!

26 Весь наш скот должен пойти с нами, не останется и копыта. И там мы отберём животных для жертвы Вечному, нашему Богу, а пока мы не придём туда, мы не будем знать, каких животных следует принести в жертву Вечному.

27 Вечный сделал сердце фараона упрямым, и он не захотел отпускать их.

28 Он сказал Мусе: – Прочь с моих глаз, чтобы я тебя больше не видел! В тот день, когда я тебя снова увижу, ты умрёшь.

29 – Верно, – ответил Муса. – Больше ты меня не увидишь.

2 чтобы ты мог потом рассказать детям и внукам, как сурово Я поступил с египтянами и как сотворил знамения среди них. Пусть они знают, что Я – Вечный.

3 And Moses and Aaron came to Pharaoh, and said to him, Thus says the LORD God of the Hebrews, How long will you refuse to fear me? Let my people go that they may serve me.

3 Муса и Харун пришли к фараону и сказали ему: – Так говорит Вечный, Бог евреев: «Когда же, наконец, ты смиришься предо Мной? Отпусти Мой народ поклониться Мне.

4 Else, if you refuse to let my people go, behold, tomorrow I will bring locusts upon all Four domain;

4 Если ты откажешься, то завтра Я наведу на твою страну саранчу.

5 And they shall cover the face of the land so that men cannot see the ground; and they shall eat the residue of that which is left to you from the hail and shall eat all the trees which have budded for you in the field;

5 Она покроет землю так, что земли не будет видно. Она сожрёт всё то немногое, что осталось у вас после града, и даже деревья, которые растут у вас в полях.

6 Она заполнит твои дворцы, дома твоих приближённых и всех египтян: такого не видели ни твои отцы, ни деды с того дня, как поселились в этой земле, и до сегодняшнего дня». Муса повернулся и ушёл от фараона.

7 And Pharaoh's servants said to him, How long shall we suffer this disaster? Let the men go that they may serve the LORD their God; do you not yet know that Egypt is destroyed?

7 Приближённые фараона сказали ему: – Сколько ещё этот человек будет нас мучить? Отпусти этих людей поклониться Вечному, их Богу. Разве ты всё ещё не видишь, что Египет гибнет?

8 So Moses and Aaron were brought again to Pharaoh; and he said to them, Go, serve before the LORD your God; but who are they that are going?

8 Тогда Мусу и Харуна вернули к фараону. – Пойдите, поклонитесь Вечному, вашему Богу, – сказал он. – Только кто же из вас пойдёт?

9 And Moses said to him, We will go with our young and with our old, with our sons and with our daughters; with our flocks and with our herds will we go, for it is a festival of the LORD for all of us.

9 Муса ответил: – Мы пойдём с детьми и стариками, с сыновьями и дочерьми, с отарами и стадами: ведь у нас праздник Вечному.

10 And Pharaoh said to them, Let the LORD be with you, but when I let you and your little ones go, look to it; perhaps you have evil intent.

10 Фараон сказал: – Если я когда-либо отпущу вас с женщинами и детьми, то Вечный действительно с вами! Но берегитесь, вас ждут большие неприятности.

11 Let it not be so; go now, the older men, and serve before the LORD; for it is the rest that you desire. And they were driven out from Pharaoh's presence.

11 Нет уж! Пусть одни мужчины пойдут поклоняться Вечному, раз вы об этом просите. И Мусу с Харуном выгнали от фараона.

12 And the LORD said to Moses, Lift up your hand over the land of Egypt for the locusts, that they may come up upon the land of Egypt and eat the herbs of the land, even all that the hail has left.

12 Вечный сказал Мусе: – Протяни руку над египетской землёй, и появится саранча. Она сожрёт всё, что растёт в полях, всё то, что уцелело после града.

13 And Moses lifted up his staff over the land of Egypt, and the LORD brought an east wind upon the land all that day and all that night; and when it was morning, the east wind brought the locusts.

13 Муса простёр посох над Египтом, и Вечный навёл на землю восточный ветер, который дул весь день и всю ночь. К утру ветер принёс саранчу.

14 And the locusts went up over all the land of Egypt and rested in all the domain of the Egyptians; it was a great swarm; before them there were no such swarms of locusts as they, neither after them shall be such.

14 Она напала на Египет, опустившись на страну в огромном количестве. Такого нашествия саранчи не бывало прежде и не будет впредь.

15 Она покрыла всю землю, так что земля почернела. Она сожрала всё, что осталось после града – всё, что росло в полях, и плоды на деревьях. Ни на дереве, ни на каком другом растении во всём Египте не осталось зелени.

16 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron in haste; and he said to them, I have sinned against the LORD your God and against you.

16 Фараон спешно позвал Мусу и Харуна и сказал: – Я согрешил перед Вечным, вашим Богом, и перед вами.

17 Now therefore, forgive me my fault this time also, and pray before the LORD your God that he may re move from me this death.

17 Простите мой грех всего лишь ещё один раз. Помолитесь Вечному, вашему Богу, чтобы Он избавил меня от этого несчастья.

18 And Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed be fore the LORD.

18 Муса ушёл от фараона и помолился Вечному.

22 And Moses lifted up his hand toward heaven; and there was a thick darkness in all the land of Egypt three days;

22 Муса поднял руку к небу, и непроницаемая тьма покрыла Египет на три дня.

23 They did not see one another, nor rose any from his place for three days; but all the children of Israel had light in their dwellings.

23 Люди не могли ни видеть друг друга, ни передвигаться в течение трёх дней. А у исраильтян, там, где они жили, был свет.

24 And Pharaoh called to Moses and said to him, Go, serve before the LORD your God; only let your flocks and herds remain here; let your little ones also go with you.

24 Тогда фараон позвал Мусу и сказал: – Идите, поклонитесь Вечному. Оставьте здесь лишь ваши отары и стада, а женщины и дети пусть идут с вами.

25 Муса ответил: – Ты должен отпустить с нами скот, чтобы мы принесли жертвы всесожжения и пиршественные жертвы Вечному, нашему Богу!

26 Our cattle also shall go with us; there shall not an hoof be left behind; for thereof must we take to serve before the LORD our God; and we do not know what else we must offer to the LORD until we come there.

26 Весь наш скот должен пойти с нами, не останется и копыта. И там мы отберём животных для жертвы Вечному, нашему Богу, а пока мы не придём туда, мы не будем знать, каких животных следует принести в жертву Вечному.

27 But the LORD hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not let them go.

27 Вечный сделал сердце фараона упрямым, и он не захотел отпускать их.

28 And Pharaoh said to Moses. Get away from here, take heed to yourself, do not try to see my face again,

28 Он сказал Мусе: – Прочь с моих глаз, чтобы я тебя больше не видел! В тот день, когда я тебя снова увижу, ты умрёшь.

29 And Moses said, You have spoken well, I will not try to see your face any more.

29 – Верно, – ответил Муса. – Больше ты меня не увидишь.
