Псалом 59

1 Руководителю хора На мелодию «Лилия завета» Молитва Давида В наставление

2 (когда он воевал с арамеями Месопотамии и с арамеями Цовы и когда Йоав, возвращаясь, поразил двенадцать тысяч эдомитян в долине Соли)

3 Боже! Отверг Ты нас и в бегство обратил, Ты гневался на нас, но всё же к нам вернись!

4 Сотряс Ты землю всю, разверз ее, сомкни ж расселины ее, ибо вот-вот развалится она.

5 Ты трудности великие увидеть дал народу Своему, шатаемся мы от вина, которым напоил Ты нас во гневе.

6 Для тех, кто пред Тобой благоговеет, Ты знамя поднял, вокруг которого они собраться могут, дабы от стрел укрыться.

7 Дабы любимый Твой народ мог быть спасен, нам помоги Своей рукою сильной, внемли молитве нашей!

8 Бог из Своего Святилища провозгласил: «Восторжествую, разделю Шехем и долину Сокхоф, как отобранную землю, размерю.

9 Мой Гилад, и Манассия — Мой, шлем на голове Моей — Ефрем, а скипетр Мой — Иуда.

10 Моав — умывальная чаша Моя, обувь брошу Мою на Эдом, как им завладевший. И ты, Филистия, встречай Меня с ликованием!»

11 Кто введет меня в град укрепленный, до Эдома кто меня сопроводит,

12 если не Ты, Боже, нас отринувший и не выступающий с войсками нашими?

13 Помоги ж нам перед врагом устоять — помощь людей бесполезна!

14 С Богом мы великое свершим, попирать Он будет врагов наших.

Psalm 59

1 DELIVER me from mine enemies, O God; defend me from them that rise up against me.

2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.

3 For, 1o, they lie in wait for my soul; evil have they multiplied against me; not because I have transgressed or because I have sinned, O LORD.

4 They run and prepare themselves against me without considering whether I have been at fault;

5 Awake to help me, and behold, O thou LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel, awake to visit all the nations, and spare not any wicked transgressors.

6 They return at evening; they make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.

7 Behold, they belch out with their mouths; swords are in their lips; for who, say they, does care?

8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the nations in derision.

9 To thee shall I give praise, O God, for thou art my defense.

10 O God, thy lovingkindness has preceded me; God has let me live to see my enemies avenged.

11 Spare them for a living example, lest my people forget; but scatter them by thy power, and bring them down, O LORD my hope.

12 For the sin of their mouth and the words of their lips. let them even be taken in their pride; for it is cursing and lying that they speak.

13 Consume them in thy wrath, consume them, that they be no more, that they may know that God rules over Jacob and over the ends of the earth.

14 And at evening let them return; and let them make a noise like dogs, and go round about the city.
