1 Одна259 из жен802 сынов1121 пророческих5030 с воплем6817 говорила559 Елисею:477 раб5650 твой, мой муж,376 умер;4191 а ты знаешь,3045 что раб5650 твой боялся3373 Господа;3068 теперь пришел935 заимодавец5383 взять3947 обоих8147 детей3206 моих в рабы5650 себе.

2 И сказал559 ей Елисей:477 что мне сделать6213 тебе? скажи5046 мне, что есть3426 у тебя в доме?1004 Она сказала:559 нет у рабы8198 твоей ничего в доме,1004 кроме сосуда610 с елеем.8081

3 И сказал559 он: пойди,3212 попроси7592 себе сосудов3627 на2351 стороне,2351 у всех соседей7934 твоих, сосудов3627 порожних;7386 набери4591 немало,4591

4 и пойди,935 запри5462 дверь1817 за собою и за сыновьями1121 твоими, и наливай3332 во все эти сосуды;3627 полные4392 отставляй.5265

5 И пошла3212 от него и заперла5462 дверь1817 за собой и за сыновьями1121 своими. Они1992 подавали5066 ей, а она наливала.3332

6 Когда наполнены4390 были сосуды,3627 она сказала559 сыну1121 своему: подай5066 мне еще сосуд.3627 Он сказал559 ей: нет более сосудов.3627 И остановилось5975 масло.8081

9 И сказала559 она мужу376 своему: вот, я знаю,3045 что человек376 Божий,430 который проходит5674 мимо нас постоянно,8548 святой;6918

10 сделаем6213 небольшую6996 горницу5944 над стеною7023 и поставим7760 ему там постель,4296 и стол,7979 и седалище,3678 и светильник;4501 и когда он будет приходить935 к нам, пусть заходит5493 туда.

11 В один день3117 он пришел935 туда, и зашел5493 в горницу,5944 и лег7901 там,

12 и сказал559 Гиезию,1522 слуге5288 своему: позови7121 эту Сонамитянку.7767 И позвал7121 ее, и она стала5975 пред3942 ним.

13 И сказал559 ему: скажи559 ей: «вот, ты так заботишься2729 о нас; что сделать6213 бы тебе? не нужно ли поговорить1696 о тебе с царем,4428 или с военачальником?»82696635 Она сказала:559 нет, среди8432 своего народа5971 я живу.3427

14 И сказал559 он: что же сделать6213 ей? И сказал559 Гиезий:1522 да61 вот, сына1121 нет у нее, а муж376 ее стар.2204

15 И сказал559 он: позови7121 ее. Он позвал7121 ее, и стала5975 она в дверях.6607

16 И сказал559 он: через год,4150 в это самое время6256 ты будешь2263 держать2263 на2263 руках2263 сына.1121 И сказала559 она: нет, господин113 мой, человек376 Божий,430 не обманывай3576 рабы8198 твоей.

18 И подрос1431 ребенок3206 и в один день3117 пошел3318 к отцу1 своему, к жнецам.7114

19 И сказал559 отцу1 своему: голова7218 моя! голова7218 моя болит! И сказал559 тот слуге5288 своему: отнеси5375 его к матери517 его.

20 И понес5375 его и принес935 его к матери517 его. И он сидел3427 на коленях1290 у нее до полудня,6672 и умер.4191

21 И пошла5927 она, и положила7901 его на постели4296 человека376 Божия,430 и заперла5462 его, и вышла,3318

22 и позвала7121 мужа376 своего и сказала:559 пришли7971 мне одного259 из слуг5288 и одну259 из ослиц,860 я поеду7323 к человеку376 Божию430 и возвращусь.7725

23 Он сказал:559 зачем тебе ехать1980 к нему? сегодня3117 не новомесячие2320 и не суббота.7676 Но она сказала:559 хорошо.7965

24 И оседлала2280 ослицу860 и сказала559 слуге5288 своему: веди5090 и иди;3212 не останавливайся,61137392 доколе не скажу559 тебе.

25 И отправилась3212 и прибыла935 к человеку376 Божию,430 к горе2022 Кармил.3760 И когда увидел7200 человек376 Божий430 ее издали, то сказал559 слуге5288 своему Гиезию:1522 это та Сонамитянка.7767

26 Побеги7323 к ней навстречу7125 и скажи559 ей: «здорова7965 ли ты? здоров7965 ли муж376 твой? здоров7965 ли ребенок?3206» — Она сказала:559 здоровы.7965

27 Когда же пришла935 к человеку376 Божию430 на гору,2022 ухватилась2388 за ноги7272 его. И подошел5066 Гиезий,1522 чтобы отвести1920 ее; но человек376 Божий430 сказал:559 оставь7503 ее, душа5315 у нее огорчена,4843 а Господь3068 скрыл5956 от меня и не объявил5046 мне.

28 И сказала559 она: просила7592 ли я сына1121 у господина113 моего? не говорила559 ли я: «не обманывай7952 меня»?

29 И сказал559 он Гиезию:1522 опояшь2296 чресла4975 твои и возьми3947 жезл4938 мой в руку3027 твою, и пойди;3212 если встретишь4672 кого,376 не приветствуй1288 его, и если кто376 будет1288 тебя приветствовать,1288 не отвечай6030 ему; и положи7760 посох4938 мой на лице6440 ребенка.5288

30 И сказала559 мать517 ребенка:5288 жив2416 Господь3068 и жива2416 душа5315 твоя! не отстану5800 от тебя. И он встал6965 и пошел3212 за310 нею.

31 Гиезий1522 пошел5674 впереди3942 их и положил7760 жезл4938 на лице6440 ребенка.5288 Но не было ни голоса,6963 ни ответа.7182 И вышел7725 навстречу7125 ему, и донес5046 ему, и сказал:559 не пробуждается6974 ребенок.5288

32 И вошел935 Елисей477 в дом,1004 и вот, ребенок5288 умерший4191 лежит7901 на постели4296 его.

33 И вошел,935 и запер5462 дверь1817 за собою, и помолился6419 Господу.3068

34 И поднялся5927 и лег7901 над ребенком,3206 и приложил7760 свои уста6310 к его устам,6310 и свои глаза5869 к его глазам,5869 и свои ладони3709 к его ладоням,3709 и простерся1457 на нем, и согрелось2552 тело1320 ребенка.3206

36 И позвал7121 он Гиезия1522 и сказал:559 позови7121 эту Сонамитянку.7767 И тот позвал7121 ее. Она пришла935 к нему, и он сказал:559 возьми5375 сына1121 твоего.

37 И подошла,935 и упала5307 ему в ноги,7272 и поклонилась7812 до земли;776 и взяла5375 сына1121 своего и пошла.3318

38 Елисей477 же возвратился7725 в Галгал.1537 И был голод7458 в земле776 той, и сыны1121 пророков5030 сидели3427 пред3942 ним. И сказал559 он слуге5288 своему: поставь8239 большой1419 котел5518 и свари1310 похлебку5138 для сынов1121 пророческих.5030

39 И вышел3318 один259 из них в поле7704 собирать3950 овощи,219 и нашел4672 дикое7704 вьющееся1612 растение,1612 и набрал3950 с него диких7704 плодов6498 полную4393 одежду899 свою; и пришел935 и накрошил6398 их в котел5518 с похлебкою,5138 так как они не знали3045 их.

40 И налили3332 им есть.398 Но как скоро они стали есть398 похлебку,5138 то подняли6817 крик6817 и говорили:559 смерть4194 в котле,5518 человек376 Божий!430 И не могли3201 есть.398

41 И сказал559 он: подайте3947 муки.7058 И всыпал7993 ее в котел5518 и сказал559 Гиезию: наливай3332 людям,5971 пусть едят.398 И не стало ничего вредного16977451 в котле.5518

42 Пришел935 некто376 из Ваал-Шалиши,1190 и принес935 человеку376 Божию430 хлебный3899 начаток1061 — двадцать6242 ячменных8184 хлебцев3899 и сырые3759 зерна3759 в шелухе.6861 И сказал559 Елисей: отдай5414 людям,5971 пусть едят.398

43 И сказал559 слуга8334 его: что тут я дам5414 ста3967 человекам?376 И сказал559 он: отдай5414 людям,5971 пусть едят,398 ибо так говорит559 Господь:3068 «насытятся,398 и останется».3498

Chapter 4

1 NOW a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets cried to Elisha, saying, Your servant my husband is dead; and you know that your servant did fear the LORD; and the creditor has come to take my two sons to be his bondmen.

2 And Elisha said to her, What shall I do for you? Tell me, what have you in the house? And she said, Your handmaid has nothing in the house except a pot of oil.

3 Then he said to her, Go, borrow for yourself vessels from the houses of all your neighbors, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 And then go in, and shut the door upon you and upon your sons, and pour out into all these vessels; and the vessel which is full bring up to me.

5 So she went from him, and entered her house and shut the door upon herself and upon her sons who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 And when the vessels were full, she said to her son, Bring me more vessels. But her son said to her, There are no more vessels. And the oil stopped.

7 Then she came and told the prophet of God. And he said, Go, sell the oil, and pay your debt, and live, you and your sons, on what is left over.

8 And it came to pass on the morrow, Elisha went and came to Shiloh, where was a wealthy woman; and she constrained him to eat food. So that whenever he passed by, he turned in there to eat food.

9 And she said to her husband, Behold now, I perceive that the prophet of God is a holy man who passes by us continually.

10 Let us make for him a little upper room, and let us set for him there a bed and a table and a chair and a candlestick, so that when he comes to us, he shall turn in there.

11 And it happened on a certain day, he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay there.

12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shilomite woman. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

13 And he said to her, Behold, you have shown us all this respect; what is to be done for you? Is there anything to be spoken on your behalf to the king or to the commander of the army? And she answered, I dwell among my own people quite well.

14 Then he said, What shall I do for her? And Gehazi said to him, Verily she has no son and her husband is old.

15 And he said, Call her. And when he had called her, she stood in the door.

16 And he said to her, About this season, you will be with child, and shall embrace a son. And she said, No, my lord, O prophet of God, do not lie to your handmaid.

17 And the woman conceived and bore a son; at the season that Elisha had said to her, she was with child.

18 Now when the child had grown, he went out on a certain day to his father who was with the reapers.

19 And he said to his father, Oh, my head, my head! And his father said to a servant, Take him up and carry him to his mother.

20 And when he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon and then died.

21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the prophet of God, and shut the door upon him and went out.

22 Then she called to her husband and said, Send me one of the servants and one of the asses, that I may go hastily to the prophet of God.

23 And he said to her, Why will you go to him today? It is neither new moon nor sabbath. But the Shilomite gave orders;

24 And they saddled an ass for her, and she said to the servant, Drive fast; do not stop to dismount me unless I tell you.

25 So she went to the prophet of God at mount Carmel. And when the prophet of God saw her afar off, he said to Gehazi his disciple, Behold, there is the Shilomite:

26 Run now to meet her, and say to her, Is it well with you? Is it well with your husband? Is it well with the child? And she answered, It is well.

27 And when she came to the prophet of God to the mountain, she caught hold of his feet; but Gehazi came near to remove her. And the prophet of God said to him, Let her alone; for her soul is in bitter anguish; and the LORD has hidden it from me and has not told me.

28 Then she said, Did I ask a son of my lord? Did I not say to you, Do not ask a son for me?

29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand and go. If you meet any man, do not salute him; and if any man salutes you, do not answer him; and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose and followed her.

31 And Gehazi went on before them and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice nor hearing. Therefore he returned to meet Elisha, and told him, saying, The child is not awake.

32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead and lying upon his bed.

33 He went in therefore and shut the door upon the two of them, and prayed unto the LORD.

34 And he went up and lay upon the child and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands; and he stretched himself upon him, and the flesh of the child became warm.

35 Then he returned, and walked to and fro in the house; and went up and stretched himself upon him; and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

36 And Elisha called Gehazi and said to him, Call this Shilomite. So he called her. And when she was come to him, he said to her, Take up your son.

37 Then she went in and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground and took up her son and went Out.

38 And Elisha returned to Gilgal; and there was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his disciple, Set on the great pot, and cook pottage for the sons of the prophets.

39 And one of them went out into the field to gather herbs and found a wild vine in the field and gathered from it his lap full of wild gourds, and came and put them into the pot of pottage; for he did not know what they were.

40 So he poured out for the men to eat. And as they were eating of the pottage, they cried out and said, O prophet of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat of it.

41 But he said, Take meal and cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

42 And there came a certain man from the city of giants, and brought the prophet of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and new wheat rubbed from the ears in a cloth. And he said, Give to the people, that they may eat.

43 And his servant said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? And Elisha said to him again, Give them to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the LORD, They shall eat and shall leave some.

44 So he set it before them, and they did eat and left some, according to the word of the LORD.

5 So she went from him, and entered her house and shut the door upon herself and upon her sons who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 And when the vessels were full, she said to her son, Bring me more vessels. But her son said to her, There are no more vessels. And the oil stopped.

11 And it happened on a certain day, he came there, and he turned in to the upper room and lay there.

12 And he said to Gehazi his servant, Call this Shilomite woman. And when he had called her, she stood before him.

17 And the woman conceived and bore a son; at the season that Elisha had said to her, she was with child.

18 И подрос1431 ребенок3206 и в один день3117 пошел3318 к отцу1 своему, к жнецам.7114

18 Now when the child had grown, he went out on a certain day to his father who was with the reapers.

19 И сказал559 отцу1 своему: голова7218 моя! голова7218 моя болит! И сказал559 тот слуге5288 своему: отнеси5375 его к матери517 его.

19 And he said to his father, Oh, my head, my head! And his father said to a servant, Take him up and carry him to his mother.

20 And when he had taken him and brought him to his mother, he sat on her knees till noon and then died.

21 И пошла5927 она, и положила7901 его на постели4296 человека376 Божия,430 и заперла5462 его, и вышла,3318

21 And she went up and laid him on the bed of the prophet of God, and shut the door upon him and went out.

22 и позвала7121 мужа376 своего и сказала:559 пришли7971 мне одного259 из слуг5288 и одну259 из ослиц,860 я поеду7323 к человеку376 Божию430 и возвращусь.7725

29 Then he said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins and take my staff in your hand and go. If you meet any man, do not salute him; and if any man salutes you, do not answer him; and lay my staff upon the face of the child.

30 И сказала559 мать517 ребенка:5288 жив2416 Господь3068 и жива2416 душа5315 твоя! не отстану5800 от тебя. И он встал6965 и пошел3212 за310 нею.

30 And the mother of the child said, As the LORD lives and as your soul lives, I will not leave you. And he arose and followed her.

31 Гиезий1522 пошел5674 впереди3942 их и положил7760 жезл4938 на лице6440 ребенка.5288 Но не было ни голоса,6963 ни ответа.7182 И вышел7725 навстречу7125 ему, и донес5046 ему, и сказал:559 не пробуждается6974 ребенок.5288

31 And Gehazi went on before them and laid the staff upon the face of the child; but there was neither voice nor hearing. Therefore he returned to meet Elisha, and told him, saying, The child is not awake.

32 И вошел935 Елисей477 в дом,1004 и вот, ребенок5288 умерший4191 лежит7901 на постели4296 его.

32 And when Elisha was come into the house, behold, the child was dead and lying upon his bed.

33 И вошел,935 и запер5462 дверь1817 за собою, и помолился6419 Господу.3068

33 He went in therefore and shut the door upon the two of them, and prayed unto the LORD.

34 И поднялся5927 и лег7901 над ребенком,3206 и приложил7760 свои уста6310 к его устам,6310 и свои глаза5869 к его глазам,5869 и свои ладони3709 к его ладоням,3709 и простерся1457 на нем, и согрелось2552 тело1320 ребенка.3206

34 And he went up and lay upon the child and put his mouth upon his mouth, and his eyes upon his eyes, and his hands upon his hands; and he stretched himself upon him, and the flesh of the child became warm.

35 И встал7725 и прошел3212 по горнице1004 взад2592008 и вперед;2592008 потом опять поднялся5927 и простерся1457 на нем. И чихнул2237 ребенок5288 раз6471 семь,7651 и открыл6491 ребенок5288 глаза5869 свои.

35 Then he returned, and walked to and fro in the house; and went up and stretched himself upon him; and the child sneezed seven times, and the child opened his eyes.

36 И позвал7121 он Гиезия1522 и сказал:559 позови7121 эту Сонамитянку.7767 И тот позвал7121 ее. Она пришла935 к нему, и он сказал:559 возьми5375 сына1121 твоего.

36 And Elisha called Gehazi and said to him, Call this Shilomite. So he called her. And when she was come to him, he said to her, Take up your son.

37 И подошла,935 и упала5307 ему в ноги,7272 и поклонилась7812 до земли;776 и взяла5375 сына1121 своего и пошла.3318

37 Then she went in and fell at his feet and bowed herself to the ground and took up her son and went Out.

38 Елисей477 же возвратился7725 в Галгал.1537 И был голод7458 в земле776 той, и сыны1121 пророков5030 сидели3427 пред3942 ним. И сказал559 он слуге5288 своему: поставь8239 большой1419 котел5518 и свари1310 похлебку5138 для сынов1121 пророческих.5030

38 And Elisha returned to Gilgal; and there was a famine in the land; and the sons of the prophets were sitting before him; and he said to his disciple, Set on the great pot, and cook pottage for the sons of the prophets.

39 И вышел3318 один259 из них в поле7704 собирать3950 овощи,219 и нашел4672 дикое7704 вьющееся1612 растение,1612 и набрал3950 с него диких7704 плодов6498 полную4393 одежду899 свою; и пришел935 и накрошил6398 их в котел5518 с похлебкою,5138 так как они не знали3045 их.

39 And one of them went out into the field to gather herbs and found a wild vine in the field and gathered from it his lap full of wild gourds, and came and put them into the pot of pottage; for he did not know what they were.

40 И налили3332 им есть.398 Но как скоро они стали есть398 похлебку,5138 то подняли6817 крик6817 и говорили:559 смерть4194 в котле,5518 человек376 Божий!430 И не могли3201 есть.398

40 So he poured out for the men to eat. And as they were eating of the pottage, they cried out and said, O prophet of God, there is death in the pot. And they could not eat of it.

41 И сказал559 он: подайте3947 муки.7058 И всыпал7993 ее в котел5518 и сказал559 Гиезию: наливай3332 людям,5971 пусть едят.398 И не стало ничего вредного16977451 в котле.5518

41 But he said, Take meal and cast it into the pot; and he said, Pour out for the people, that they may eat. And there was no harm in the pot.

42 Пришел935 некто376 из Ваал-Шалиши,1190 и принес935 человеку376 Божию430 хлебный3899 начаток1061 — двадцать6242 ячменных8184 хлебцев3899 и сырые3759 зерна3759 в шелухе.6861 И сказал559 Елисей: отдай5414 людям,5971 пусть едят.398

42 And there came a certain man from the city of giants, and brought the prophet of God bread of the first fruits, twenty loaves of barley and new wheat rubbed from the ears in a cloth. And he said, Give to the people, that they may eat.

43 И сказал559 слуга8334 его: что тут я дам5414 ста3967 человекам?376 И сказал559 он: отдай5414 людям,5971 пусть едят,398 ибо так говорит559 Господь:3068 «насытятся,398 и останется».3498

43 And his servant said, What, should I set this before a hundred men? And Elisha said to him again, Give them to the people, that they may eat; for thus says the LORD, They shall eat and shall leave some.

44 Он подал5414 им, и они насытились,398 и еще осталось,3498 по слову1697 Господню.3068

44 So he set it before them, and they did eat and left some, according to the word of the LORD.
