撒母耳記上

第13章

1 掃羅登基作王一年［reigned one year］；到他［and when he］作以色列王二年的時候，

2 就從以色列中揀選了三千人：二千跟隨掃羅在密抹和伯．特利山，一千跟隨約拿單在便雅憫的基比亞；其餘的人掃羅都打發各回各家去了。

3 約拿單攻擊迦巴、非利士人的防營，非利士人聽見了。掃羅就在遍地吹號［trumpet］，意思說，要使希伯來人聽見。

4 以色列眾人聽見掃羅攻擊非利士人的防營，又聽見以色列［Israel］為非利士人所憎惡。百姓［people］就跟隨掃羅聚集在吉甲。

5 非利士人聚集，要與以色列［Israel］爭戰，有車三萬輛，馬兵六千，步兵像海邊的沙那樣多；他們［they］就上來，在伯．亞文東邊的密抹安營。

6 以色列人［men］見自己勢危［saw that they were in a strait］，（這是因百姓憂急［for the people were distressed］，）眾百姓［the people］就藏在山洞、叢林、石穴、高處［high places］，和坑中。

7 有些希伯來人過了約旦河，逃到迦得和基列地。掃羅還是在吉甲，百姓都戰戰兢兢地跟隨他。

8 掃羅照著撒母耳所定的日期等了七日。撒母耳還沒有來到吉甲，百姓也離開掃羅散去了。

9 掃羅說：「把燔祭和平安祭帶到我這裏來。」掃羅就獻上燔祭。

10 剛獻完燔祭，恰巧［behold］撒母耳就到了。掃羅出去迎接他，要問他好。

11 撒母耳說：「你作的是甚麼事呢？」掃羅說：「因為我見百姓離開我散去，你也不照所定的日期來到，而且非利士人聚集在密抹。

12 所以我心裏說：恐怕我沒有禱告耶和華。非利士人下到吉甲攻擊我，我就勉強獻上燔祭。」

13 撒母耳對掃羅說：「你作了糊塗事了；沒有遵守耶和華─你神所吩咐你的命令；若遵守，耶和華必在以色列中堅立你的國位［kingdom］，直到永遠。

14 但［But］現在你的國位［kingdom］必不長久；耶和華已經尋著一個合他心意的人，耶和華［LORD］立他作百姓的君，因為你沒有遵守耶和華所吩咐你的。」

15 撒母耳就起來，從吉甲上到便雅憫的基比亞。掃羅數點跟隨他的，約有六百人。

16 掃羅和他兒子約拿單，並跟隨他們的人，都住在便雅憫的基比亞［Gibeah］；但非利士人安營在密抹。

17 有掠兵從非利士營中出來，分為三隊：一隊往俄弗拉向書亞地去，

18 一隊往伯．和崙去，一隊往洗波音谷對面的地境向曠野去。

19 那時，以色列全地沒有一個鐵匠；因為非利士人說，恐怕希伯來人製造刀槍。

20 以色列人要磨鋤、犁、斧、鏟，就下到非利士人那裏去磨。

21 但有銼可以銼鏟、犁、三齒叉、斧子，並磨［sharpen］牛錐。

22 所以到了爭戰的日子，跟隨掃羅和約拿單的人沒有一個手裏有刀有槍的，唯獨掃羅和他兒子約拿單有。

23 非利士人的一隊防兵到了密抹的隘口。

Chapter 13

1 Saul7586 reigned4427 one year;8141 and when he had reigned4427 two8147 years8141 over5921 Israel,3478

2 Saul7586 chose977 him three7969 thousand505 men of Israel;3478 whereof two thousand505 were with Saul7586 in Michmash4363 and in mount2022 Bethel,1008 and a thousand505 were with Jonathan3129 in Gibeah1390 of Benjamin:1144 and the rest3499 of the people5971 he sent7971 every man376 to his tent.168

3 And Jonathan3129 smote5221 the garrison5333 of the Philistines6430 that was in Geba,1387 and the Philistines6430 heard8085 of it. And Saul7586 blew8628 the trumpet7782 throughout all3605 the land,776 saying,559 Let the Hebrews5680 hear.8085

4 And all3605 Israel3478 heard8085 say559 that Saul7586 had smitten5221 a garrison5333 of the Philistines,6430 and that Israel3478 also1571 was had in abomination887 with the Philistines.6430 And the people5971 were called6817 together after310 Saul7586 to Gilgal.1537

5 And the Philistines6430 gathered622 themselves together to fight3898 with Israel,3478 thirty7970 thousand505 chariots,7393 and six8337 thousand505 horsemen,6571 and people5971 as the sand2344 which834 is on5921 the sea3220 shore8193 in multitude:7230 and they came5927 up, and pitched2583 in Michmash,4363 eastward6926 from Bethaven.1007

6 When the men376 of Israel3478 saw7200 that they were in a strait,6887 (for the people5971 were distressed,5065) then the people5971 did hide2244 themselves in caves,4631 and in thickets,2337 and in rocks,5553 and in high6877 places, and in pits.953

7 And some of the Hebrews5680 went5674 over5674 Jordan3383 to the land776 of Gad1410 and Gilead.1568 As for Saul,7586 he was yet5750 in Gilgal,1537 and all3605 the people5971 followed310 him trembling.2729

8 And he tarried3176 seven7651 days,3117 according to the set4150 time that Samuel8050 had appointed: but Samuel8050 came935 not to Gilgal;1537 and the people5971 were scattered6327 from him.

9 And Saul7586 said,559 Bring5066 here5066 a burnt5930 offering to me, and peace8002 offerings. And he offered5927 the burnt5930 offering.

10 And it came1961 to pass, that as soon as he had made an end3615 of offering5927 the burnt5930 offering, behold,2009 Samuel8050 came;935 and Saul7586 went3318 out to meet7125 him, that he might salute1288 him.

11 And Samuel8050 said,559 What4100 have you done?6213 And Saul7586 said,559 Because3588 I saw7200 that the people5971 were scattered5310 from me, and that you came935 not within the days3117 appointed,4150 and that the Philistines6430 gathered622 themselves together at Michmash;4363

12 Therefore said559 I, The Philistines6430 will come3381 down3381 now6258 on me to Gilgal,1537 and I have not made supplication2470 to the LORD:3068 I forced662 myself therefore, and offered5927 a burnt5930 offering.

13 And Samuel8050 said559 to Saul,7586 You have done foolishly:5528 you have not kept8104 the commandment4687 of the LORD3068 your God,430 which834 he commanded6680 you: for now6258 would the LORD3068 have established3559 your kingdom4467 on Israel3478 for ever.5769

14 But now6258 your kingdom4467 shall not continue:6965 the LORD3068 has sought1245 him a man376 after his own heart,3824 and the LORD3068 has commanded6680 him to be captain5057 over5921 his people,5971 because3588 you have not kept8104 that which834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 you.

15 And Samuel8050 arose,6965 and got5927 him up from Gilgal1537 to Gibeah1390 of Benjamin.1144 And Saul7586 numbered6485 the people5971 that were present4672 with him, about six8337 hundred3967 men.376

16 And Saul,7586 and Jonathan3129 his son,1121 and the people5971 that were present4672 with them, stayed3427 in Gibeah1390 of Benjamin:1144 but the Philistines6430 encamped2583 in Michmash.4363

17 And the spoilers7843 came3318 out of the camp4264 of the Philistines6430 in three7969 companies:7218 one259 company7218 turned6437 to the way1870 that leads to Ophrah,6084 to the land776 of Shual:7777

18 And another259 company7218 turned6437 the way1870 to Bethhoron:1032 and another259 company7218 turned6437 to the way1870 of the border1366 that looks8259 to the valley1516 of Zeboim6650 toward the wilderness.4057

19 Now there was no3808 smith2796 found4672 throughout all3605 the land776 of Israel:3478 for the Philistines6430 said,559 Lest6435 the Hebrews5680 make6213 them swords2719 or176 spears:2595

20 But all3605 the Israelites3478 went3381 down3381 to the Philistines,6430 to sharpen3913 every man376 his share,4282 and his coulter,855 and his ax,7134 and his mattock.4281

21 Yet they had a file6477 6310 for the mattocks,4281 and for the coulters,855 and for the forks,7969 7053 and for the axes,7134 and to sharpen5324 the goads.1861

22 So it came1961 to pass in the day3117 of battle,4421 that there was neither3808 sword2719 nor spear2595 found4672 in the hand3027 of any3605 of the people5971 that were with Saul7586 and Jonathan:3129 but with Saul7586 and with Jonathan3129 his son1121 was there found.4672

23 And the garrison4673 of the Philistines6430 went3318 out to the passage4569 of Michmash.4363

3 約拿單攻擊迦巴、非利士人的防營，非利士人聽見了。掃羅就在遍地吹號［trumpet］，意思說，要使希伯來人聽見。

3 And Jonathan3129 smote5221 the garrison5333 of the Philistines6430 that was in Geba,1387 and the Philistines6430 heard8085 of it. And Saul7586 blew8628 the trumpet7782 throughout all3605 the land,776 saying,559 Let the Hebrews5680 hear.8085

4 以色列眾人聽見掃羅攻擊非利士人的防營，又聽見以色列［Israel］為非利士人所憎惡。百姓［people］就跟隨掃羅聚集在吉甲。

4 And all3605 Israel3478 heard8085 say559 that Saul7586 had smitten5221 a garrison5333 of the Philistines,6430 and that Israel3478 also1571 was had in abomination887 with the Philistines.6430 And the people5971 were called6817 together after310 Saul7586 to Gilgal.1537

7 有些希伯來人過了約旦河，逃到迦得和基列地。掃羅還是在吉甲，百姓都戰戰兢兢地跟隨他。

7 And some of the Hebrews5680 went5674 over5674 Jordan3383 to the land776 of Gad1410 and Gilead.1568 As for Saul,7586 he was yet5750 in Gilgal,1537 and all3605 the people5971 followed310 him trembling.2729

8 掃羅照著撒母耳所定的日期等了七日。撒母耳還沒有來到吉甲，百姓也離開掃羅散去了。

8 And he tarried3176 seven7651 days,3117 according to the set4150 time that Samuel8050 had appointed: but Samuel8050 came935 not to Gilgal;1537 and the people5971 were scattered6327 from him.

9 掃羅說：「把燔祭和平安祭帶到我這裏來。」掃羅就獻上燔祭。

9 And Saul7586 said,559 Bring5066 here5066 a burnt5930 offering to me, and peace8002 offerings. And he offered5927 the burnt5930 offering.

10 剛獻完燔祭，恰巧［behold］撒母耳就到了。掃羅出去迎接他，要問他好。

10 And it came1961 to pass, that as soon as he had made an end3615 of offering5927 the burnt5930 offering, behold,2009 Samuel8050 came;935 and Saul7586 went3318 out to meet7125 him, that he might salute1288 him.

11 撒母耳說：「你作的是甚麼事呢？」掃羅說：「因為我見百姓離開我散去，你也不照所定的日期來到，而且非利士人聚集在密抹。

11 And Samuel8050 said,559 What4100 have you done?6213 And Saul7586 said,559 Because3588 I saw7200 that the people5971 were scattered5310 from me, and that you came935 not within the days3117 appointed,4150 and that the Philistines6430 gathered622 themselves together at Michmash;4363

12 所以我心裏說：恐怕我沒有禱告耶和華。非利士人下到吉甲攻擊我，我就勉強獻上燔祭。」

12 Therefore said559 I, The Philistines6430 will come3381 down3381 now6258 on me to Gilgal,1537 and I have not made supplication2470 to the LORD:3068 I forced662 myself therefore, and offered5927 a burnt5930 offering.

13 撒母耳對掃羅說：「你作了糊塗事了；沒有遵守耶和華─你神所吩咐你的命令；若遵守，耶和華必在以色列中堅立你的國位［kingdom］，直到永遠。

13 And Samuel8050 said559 to Saul,7586 You have done foolishly:5528 you have not kept8104 the commandment4687 of the LORD3068 your God,430 which834 he commanded6680 you: for now6258 would the LORD3068 have established3559 your kingdom4467 on Israel3478 for ever.5769

14 但［But］現在你的國位［kingdom］必不長久；耶和華已經尋著一個合他心意的人，耶和華［LORD］立他作百姓的君，因為你沒有遵守耶和華所吩咐你的。」

14 But now6258 your kingdom4467 shall not continue:6965 the LORD3068 has sought1245 him a man376 after his own heart,3824 and the LORD3068 has commanded6680 him to be captain5057 over5921 his people,5971 because3588 you have not kept8104 that which834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 you.

15 撒母耳就起來，從吉甲上到便雅憫的基比亞。掃羅數點跟隨他的，約有六百人。
