Chapter 8

1 And the LORD3068 spoke559 to Moses,4872 Go935 to Pharaoh,6547 and say559 to him, Thus3541 said559 the LORD,3068 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve5647 me.

2 And if you refuse3986 to let them go,7971 behold,2009 I will smite5062 all3605 your borders1366 with frogs:6854

3 And the river2975 shall bring8317 forth8317 frogs6854 abundantly,8317 which shall go5927 up and come935 into your house,1004 and into your bedchamber,2315 4904 and on your bed,4296 and into the house1004 of your servants,5650 and on your people,5971 and into your ovens,8574 and into your kneading troughs:4863

4 And the frogs6854 shall come5927 up both on you, and on your people,5971 and on all3605 your servants.5650

5 And the LORD3068 spoke559 to Moses,4872 Say559 to Aaron,175 Stretch5186 forth your hand3027 with your rod4294 over5921 the streams,5104 over5921 the rivers,2975 and over5921 the ponds,98 and cause frogs6854 to come5927 up on the land776 of Egypt.4714

6 And Aaron175 stretched5186 out his hand3027 over5921 the waters4325 of Egypt;4714 and the frogs6854 came5927 up, and covered3680 the land776 of Egypt.4714

7 And the magicians2748 did6213 so3651 with their enchantments,3909 and brought5927 up frogs6854 on the land776 of Egypt.4714

8 Then Pharaoh6547 called7121 for Moses4872 and Aaron,175 and said,559 Entreat6279 the LORD,3068 that he may take5493 away the frogs6854 from me, and from my people;5971 and I will let the people5971 go,7971 that they may do sacrifice2076 to the LORD.3068

9 And Moses4872 said559 to Pharaoh,6547 Glory6286 over5921 me: when4970 shall I entreat6279 for you, and for your servants,5650 and for your people,5971 to destroy3772 the frogs6854 from you and your houses,1004 that they may remain7604 in the river2975 only?7535

10 And he said,559 To morrow.4279 And he said,559 Be it according to your word:1697 that you may know3045 that there is none369 like to the LORD3068 our God.430

11 And the frogs6854 shall depart5493 from you, and from your houses,1004 and from your servants,5650 and from your people;5971 they shall remain7604 in the river2975 only.7535

12 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went3318 out from Pharaoh:6547 and Moses4872 cried6817 to the LORD3068 because5921 1697 of the frogs6854 which834 he had brought7760 against Pharaoh.6547

13 And the LORD3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and the frogs6854 died4191 out of the houses,1004 out of the villages,2691 and out of the fields.7704

14 And they gathered6651 them together on heaps:2563 and the land776 stank.887

15 But when Pharaoh6547 saw7200 that there was respite,7309 he hardened3513 his heart,3820 and listened8085 not to them; as the LORD3068 had said.1696

16 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Say559 to Aaron,175 Stretch5186 out your rod,4294 and smite5221 the dust6083 of the land,776 that it may become1961 lice3654 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

17 And they did6213 so;3651 for Aaron175 stretched5186 out his hand3027 with his rod,4294 and smote5221 the dust6083 of the earth,776 and it became1961 lice3654 in man,120 and in beast;929 all the dust6083 of the land776 became1961 lice3654 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

18 And the magicians2748 did6213 so with their enchantments3909 to bring3318 forth3318 lice,3654 but they could3201 not: so3651 there were lice3654 on man,120 and on beast.929

19 Then the magicians2748 said1696 to Pharaoh,6547 This1931 is the finger676 of God:430 and Pharaoh's6547 heart3820 was hardened,2388 and he listened8085 not to them; as the LORD3068 had said.1696

20 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Rise7925 up early7925 in the morning,1242 and stand3320 before6440 Pharaoh;6547 see,2009 he comes3318 forth3318 to the water;4325 and say559 to him, Thus3541 said559 the LORD,3068 Let my people5971 go,7971 that they may serve5647 me.

21 Else,3588 if518 you will not let my people5971 go,7971 behold,2005 I will send7971 swarms6157 of flies on you, and on your servants,5650 and on your people,5971 and into your houses:1004 and the houses1004 of the Egyptians4714 shall be full4390 of swarms6157 of flies, and also1571 the ground127 where on834 5921 they are.

22 And I will sever6395 in that day3117 the land776 of Goshen,1657 in which834 my people5971 dwell,5975 that no1115 swarms6157 of flies shall be there;8033 to the end4616 you may know3045 that I am the LORD3068 in the middle7130 of the earth.776

23 And I will put7760 a division6304 between996 my people5971 and your people:5971 to morrow4279 shall this2088 sign226 be.

24 And the LORD3068 did6213 so;3651 and there came935 a grievous3515 swarm6157 of flies into the house1004 of Pharaoh,6547 and into his servants' 5650houses,1004 and into all3605 the land776 of Egypt:4714 the land776 was corrupted7843 by reason6440 of the swarm6157 of flies.

25 And Pharaoh6547 called7121 for Moses4872 and for Aaron,175 and said,559 Go3212 you, sacrifice2076 to your God430 in the land.776

26 And Moses4872 said,559 It is not meet3559 so3651 to do;6213 for we shall sacrifice2076 the abomination8441 of the Egyptians4714 to the LORD3068 our God:430 see,2005 shall we sacrifice2076 the abomination8441 of the Egyptians4714 before their eyes,5869 and will they not stone5619 us?

27 We will go3212 three7969 days' 3117journey1870 into the wilderness,4057 and sacrifice2076 to the LORD3068 our God,430 as he shall command559 us.

28 And Pharaoh6547 said,559 I will let you go,7971 that you may sacrifice2076 to the LORD3068 your God430 in the wilderness;4057 only7535 you shall not go3212 very far7368 away: entreat6279 for me.

29 And Moses4872 said,559 Behold,2009 I go3318 out from you, and I will entreat6279 the LORD3068 that the swarms6157 of flies may depart5493 from Pharaoh,6547 from his servants,5650 and from his people,5971 to morrow:4279 but let not Pharaoh6547 deal deceitfully2048 any3254 more3254 in not letting the people5971 go7971 to sacrifice2076 to the LORD.3068

30 And Moses4872 went3318 out from Pharaoh,6547 and entreated6279 the LORD.3068

31 And the LORD3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and he removed5493 the swarms6157 of flies from Pharaoh,6547 from his servants,5650 and from his people;5971 there remained7604 not one.259

32 And Pharaoh6547 hardened3513 his heart3820 at this2063 time6471 also,1571 neither3808 would he let the people5971 go.7971

Chapter 8

1 THEN the LORD said to Moses. Go to Pharaoh and say to him. Thus says the LORD, Let my people go that they may serve me.

2 And if you refuse to let them go, behold, I will smite all your borders with frogs;

3 And the river shall swarm with frogs, which shall come up and enter into your house and into your bedchamber and into your bed and into the houses of your servants and of your people and into your inner chambers and into your kneading troughs;

4 And the frogs shall come up both on you and on all your people.

5 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron your brother, Lift up your hand with your staff over the rivers and over the streams and over the ponds, and cause frogs to come up upon the land of Egypt.

6 So Aaron lifted up his hand over the waters of Egypt; and the frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

7 And the magicians did the same with their enchantments, and brought up frogs upon the land of Egypt.

8 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron and said to them, Pray to the LORD, that he may take away the frogs from me and from my people; and I will let the people go that they may sacrifice to the LORD.

9 And Moses said to Pharaoh, Appoint a time; when shall I pray for you and for your servants and for your people, to destroy the frogs from you and your house?

10 And he said to him, Tomorrow. And Moses said, Be it according to your word, that you may know that there is none like the LORD our God.

11 And the frogs shall depart from you and from your house and from your servants and from your people; they shall remain in the river only.

12 And Moses and Aaron went out from the presence of Pharaoh; and Moses prayed before the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.

13 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and the frogs died that were in the houses and in the courtyards and in the fields.

14 And they gathered them together in heaps; and the land stank.

15 And when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as the LORD had said to Moses.

16 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Lift up your staff and smite the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

17 And he did so; and Aaron lifted up his hand with his staff and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice on men and on cattle; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

18 And the magicians did the same by means of their magic to bring forth lice, but they could not get rid of the lice; so there were lice on men and on cattle.

19 Then the magicians said to Pharaoh, This is the finger of God; and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he did not listen to them, as the LORD had said.

20 And the LORD said to Moses, Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he goes out again to his daily duty; and say to him, Thus says the LORD, Let my people go that they may serve me.

21 Else, if you will not let my people go, behold, I will send swarms of flies upon you and upon your people and upon your house; and the houses of the Egyptians shall be filled with swarms of flies, like a field when it is covered with them.

22 And I will set apart on that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, to the end that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

23 And I will put a division between my people and your people; tomorrow shall this sign be.

24 And the LORD did so; and he brought great swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants' houses and into all the land of Egypt; and the land was ruined by reason of the swarms of flies.

25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said to them, Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.

26 And Moses said, It is not proper to do so; for we shall sacrifice to the LORD our God some of the animals that are an abomination to the Egyptians. And if we should sacrifice animals that are idols before Egyptian eyes, they would stone us.

27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.

28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away, and you must pray for me also.

29 And Moses said, Behold, I go out from your presence and I will pray before the LORD and he will cause the swarms of flies to depart from Pharaoh, from his servants, and from his people, tomorrow; but let not Pharaoh deal deceitfully any more by refusing to allow the people to go to sacrifice to the LORD.

30 So Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed before the LORD.

31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh and from his servants and from his people; there remained not one.

32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also and did not let the people go.

11 And the frogs shall depart from you and from your house and from your servants and from your people; they shall remain in the river only.

12 And Moses4872 and Aaron175 went3318 out from Pharaoh:6547 and Moses4872 cried6817 to the LORD3068 because5921 1697 of the frogs6854 which834 he had brought7760 against Pharaoh.6547

12 And Moses and Aaron went out from the presence of Pharaoh; and Moses prayed before the LORD because of the frogs which he had brought against Pharaoh.

13 And the LORD3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and the frogs6854 died4191 out of the houses,1004 out of the villages,2691 and out of the fields.7704

14 And they gathered them together in heaps; and the land stank.

15 But when Pharaoh6547 saw7200 that there was respite,7309 he hardened3513 his heart,3820 and listened8085 not to them; as the LORD3068 had said.1696

15 And when Pharaoh saw that there was respite, he hardened his heart and would not listen to them, as the LORD had said to Moses.

16 And the LORD3068 said559 to Moses,4872 Say559 to Aaron,175 Stretch5186 out your rod,4294 and smite5221 the dust6083 of the land,776 that it may become1961 lice3654 throughout all3605 the land776 of Egypt.4714

16 And the LORD said to Moses, Say to Aaron, Lift up your staff and smite the dust of the earth, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

17 And he did so; and Aaron lifted up his hand with his staff and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice on men and on cattle; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt.

18 And the magicians2748 did6213 so with their enchantments3909 to bring3318 forth3318 lice,3654 but they could3201 not: so3651 there were lice3654 on man,120 and on beast.929

22 And I will set apart on that day the land of Goshen, in which my people dwell, that no swarms of flies shall be there, to the end that you may know that I am the LORD in the midst of the earth.

23 And I will put7760 a division6304 between996 my people5971 and your people:5971 to morrow4279 shall this2088 sign226 be.

23 And I will put a division between my people and your people; tomorrow shall this sign be.

24 And the LORD did so; and he brought great swarms of flies into the house of Pharaoh and into his servants' houses and into all the land of Egypt; and the land was ruined by reason of the swarms of flies.

25 And Pharaoh6547 called7121 for Moses4872 and for Aaron,175 and said,559 Go3212 you, sacrifice2076 to your God430 in the land.776

25 Then Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said to them, Go, sacrifice to your God within the land.

26 And Moses said, It is not proper to do so; for we shall sacrifice to the LORD our God some of the animals that are an abomination to the Egyptians. And if we should sacrifice animals that are idols before Egyptian eyes, they would stone us.

27 We will go3212 three7969 days' 3117journey1870 into the wilderness,4057 and sacrifice2076 to the LORD3068 our God,430 as he shall command559 us.

27 We will go three days' journey into the wilderness and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he has commanded us.

28 And Pharaoh6547 said,559 I will let you go,7971 that you may sacrifice2076 to the LORD3068 your God430 in the wilderness;4057 only7535 you shall not go3212 very far7368 away: entreat6279 for me.

28 And Pharaoh said, I will let you go that you may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only you shall not go very far away, and you must pray for me also.

30 And Moses4872 went3318 out from Pharaoh,6547 and entreated6279 the LORD.3068

30 So Moses went out from the presence of Pharaoh and prayed before the LORD.

31 And the LORD3068 did6213 according to the word1697 of Moses;4872 and he removed5493 the swarms6157 of flies from Pharaoh,6547 from his servants,5650 and from his people;5971 there remained7604 not one.259

31 And the LORD did according to the word of Moses; and he removed the swarms of flies from Pharaoh and from his servants and from his people; there remained not one.

32 And Pharaoh6547 hardened3513 his heart3820 at this2063 time6471 also,1571 neither3808 would he let the people5971 go.7971

32 And Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also and did not let the people go.
