1 Сын мой! Сохрани слова мои, сбереги в душе своей мои заповеди,

2 храни заповеди мои — и будешь жив, учение мое храни, как зеницу ока.

3 Повяжи их на пальцы, на скрижалях сердца запиши.

4 Мудрости скажи: «Ты сестра моя», здравомыслие родным братом назови,

5 чтобы они оградили тебя от чужой жены, от замужней с ее обольстительной речью.

6 Смотрел я однажды из окна дома моего сквозь решетку оконную

7 и увидел среди неискушенных, заметил среди молодых юношу безрассудного.

8 Переходил он улицу близ ее угла, путь держал к ее дому

9 вечером в сумерки, когда ночная тьма опускалась.

10 И вот — навстречу ему шла женщина в одеждах блудницы, с коварным сердцем.

11 Криклива она и необузданна, и дома ей не сидится.

12 То на улице она, то на площади, возле каждого угла добычу караулит.

13 Ухватилась она за него, поцеловала и с бесстыдным лицом говорит ему:

14 «Возносила я сегодня жертву благодарственную, исполнила обеты мои.

15 Потому к тебе навстречу и вышла, чтобы отыскать тебя — и нашла.

16 Покрывалами застелила я ложе, пестрыми египетскими тканями,

17 надушила постель мою миррой, алоэ и корицей.

18 Пойдем, до утра будем упиваться любовью, насладимся ласками.

19 Мужа моего нет дома, в дальний путь он отправился,

20 взял с собой кошелек с серебром, лишь к полнолунию он вернется в дом».

21 Увлекла она его речью ласковой, нежными устами прельстила.

22 И пошел он за нею тут же, словно вол, что идет на бойню, словно олень, что бежит в ловушку,

23 словно птица, что в силки бросается. И не знает он, что заплатит жизнью, пока стрела не поразит его печень.

24 Так послушайте меня, дети! Словам из уст моих внимайте:

25 пусть сердца ваши не соблазнятся ее путями, по стезям ее не блуждайте.

26 Ведь многих она погубила, немало людей сильных сразила она.

27 Дом ее — путь в Шеол, вниз он ведет, в чертоги смерти.
