Chapter 30

1 And Moses4872 spoke1696 unto413 the heads7218 of the tribes4294 concerning the children1121 of Israel,3478 saying,559 This2088 is the thing1697 which834 the LORD3068 hath commanded.6680

2 If3588 a man376 vow5087 a vow5088 unto the LORD,3068 or176 swear7650 an oath7621 to bind631 5921 his soul5315 with a bond;632 he shall not3808 break2490 his word,1697 he shall do6213 according to all3605 that proceedeth out3318 of his mouth.4480 6310

3 If3588 a woman802 also vow5087 a vow5088 unto the LORD,3068 and bind631 herself by a bond,632 being in her father's1 house1004 in her youth;5271

4 And her father1 hear8085 853 her vow,5088 and her bond632 wherewith834 she hath bound631 5921 her soul,5315 and her father1 shall hold his peace2790 at her: then all3605 her vows5088 shall stand,6965 and every3605 bond632 wherewith834 she hath bound631 5921 her soul5315 shall stand.6965

5 But if518 her father1 disallow5106 her in the day3117 that he heareth;8085 not3808 any3605 of her vows,5088 or of her bonds632 wherewith834 she hath bound631 5921 her soul,5315 shall stand:6965 and the LORD3068 shall forgive5545 her, because3588 her father1 disallowed5106 her.

6 And if518 she had at all1961 1961 a husband,376 when she vowed,5088 5921 or176 uttered4008 aught out of her lips,8193 wherewith834 she bound631 5921 her soul;5315

7 And her husband376 heard8085 it, and held his peace2790 at her in the day3117 that he heard8085 it: then her vows5088 shall stand,6965 and her bonds632 wherewith834 she bound631 5921 her soul5315 shall stand.6965

8 But if518 her husband376 disallowed5106 her on the day3117 that he heard8085 it; then he shall make853 her vow5088 which she vowed,834 5921 and that which she uttered4008 with her lips,8193 wherewith834 she bound631 5921 her soul,5315 of none effect:6565 and the LORD3068 shall forgive5545 her.

9 But every3605 vow5088 of a widow,490 and of her that is divorced,1644 wherewith834 they have bound631 5921 their souls,5315 shall stand6965 against5921 her.

10 And if518 she vowed5087 in her husband's376 house,1004 or176 bound631 5921 her soul5315 by a bond632 with an oath;7621

11 And her husband376 heard8085 it, and held his peace2790 at her, and disallowed5106 her not:3808 then all3605 her vows5088 shall stand,6965 and every3605 bond632 wherewith834 she bound631 5921 her soul5315 shall stand.6965

12 But if518 her husband376 hath utterly made them void6565 6565 853 on the day3117 he heard8085 them; then whatsoever3605 proceeded out4161 of her lips8193 concerning her vows,5088 or concerning the bond632 of her soul,5315 shall not3808 stand:6965 her husband376 hath made them void;6565 and the LORD3068 shall forgive5545 her.

13 Every3605 vow,5088 and every3605 binding632 oath7621 to afflict6031 the soul,5315 her husband376 may establish6965 it, or her husband376 may make it void.6565

14 But if518 her husband376 altogether hold his peace2790 2790 at her from day4480 3117 to413 day;3117 then he establisheth6965 853 all3605 her vows,5088 or176 853 all3605 her bonds,632 which834 are upon5921 her: he confirmeth6965 them, because3588 he held his peace2790 at her in the day3117 that he heard8085 them.

15 But if518 he shall any ways make them void6565 6565 853 after that310 he hath heard8085 them; then he shall bear5375 853 her iniquity.5771

16 These428 are the statutes,2706 which834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 853 Moses,4872 between996 a man376 and his wife,802 between996 the father1 and his daughter,1323 being yet in her youth5271 in her father's1 house.1004

Chapter 30

1 AND Moses spoke to the chiefs of the tribes of the children of Israel and said to them, This is the thing which the LORD has commanded:

2 When a man vows a vow to the LORD and swears an oath to bind himself by a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceeds out of his mouth.

3 If a woman also vows a vow to the LORD and binds herself by a bond while she is in her father's house in her youth,

4 And her father hears of her vows and the bonds wherewith she has bound herself, and her father shall keep silent toward her; then all her vows shall stand and every bond wherewith she has bound herself shall stand.

5 But if her father shall make them void in the day that he hears of all the vows and all the bonds by which she has bound herself, then they shall not stand; and the LORD shall forgive her because her father had declared them void.

6 And if she is given in marriage to a husband, and her vows are upon her or she has uttered anything out of her lips by which she bound herself.

7 And her husband hears of it and keeps silent in the day that he hears it; then all her vows shall stand and her bonds by which she has bound herself shall stand.

8 But if her husband makes them void on the day that he hears of it, then shall her vows be void and that which she uttered with her lips, and the gifts which she has promised, by which she bound herself, shall be of none effect; and the LORD shall forgive her.

9 But as to the vow of a widow or a deserted woman, everything by which she has bound herself shall stand against her.

10 And if she vowed in her husband's house or bound herself with an oath,

11 And her husband heard it but kept silent toward her and did not nullify it; then her vow shall stand, and the bond by which she has bound herself shall stand.

12 But if her husband has utterly made her vows void on the day when he heard them; then whatsoever proceeded out of her lips concerning her vows or concerning the bonds by which she bound herself shall not stand, because her husband has made them void; and the LORD shall forgive her.

13 Every vow and every binding oath to afflict the soul, her husband may establish or her husband may make it void.

14 But if her husband should remain silent toward her from day to day; then he confirms all her vows and all her bonds which are upon her; he confirms them because he kept silent toward her on the day that he heard them.

15 But if he shall make them void after he has heard them, then he shall bear her iniquity.

16 These are the statutes, which the LORD commanded Moses, between a man and his wife, between a father and his daughter while she is still in her youth in her father's house.
