Глава 7

1 Потом Иисус ходил по всей Галилее, а в Иудею не шел, потому что вожди ее замышляли убить Его.

2 Но в канун иудейского праздника Кущей

3 братья Иисуса сказали Ему: «Ты должен оставить эти места и отправиться в Иудею, чтобы и там ученики Твои увидели дела, Тобой творимые.

4 Ведь ни один человек не скрывает того, что делает, если хочет, чтобы люди узнали о нем. Ты такие дела творишь, почему же не явишь Себя всему миру?»

5 (Даже братья Его не верили в Него.)

6 Иисус возразил: «Не пришел еще час Мой. Это вам любое время годится,

7 ибо мир не может вас ненавидеть. А Меня ненавидит он, потому что Я говорю, что дела его злы.

8 Ступайте на праздник, а Я на него не иду, потому что время Мое не настало».

9 Так Он им сказал и остался в Галилее.

10 Но когда ушли братья Его, Иисус всё же отправился на праздник, но тайно,

11 ибо власти иудейские уже разыскивали Его там. «Где Тот?» — с презрением спрашивали они.

12 В народе тоже много было толков о Нем. «Он хороший Человек», — говорили шепотом одни. «Нет! — возражали другие. — Он вводит народ в заблуждение».

13 Никто, впрочем, не говорил о Нем открыто из страха перед иудейскими властями.

14 Праздник уже прошел наполовину, когда Иисус появился в Храме и стал учить.

15 «Откуда Он так знает Писание? — удивлялись иудеи. — Ведь Он не учился у раввинов».

16 Им ответил Сам Иисус: «Учение Мое — не от Меня, но от Того, кто послал Меня.

17 Кто готов исполнять волю Божию, тот узнает, от Бога ли это учение, или от Себя Я говорю.

18 Кто от себя говорит, для себя ищет славы. А кто о славе пославшего его заботится, тот искренен и нет у него обмана.

19 Не дал ли Моисей Закон вам? Но никто из вас не поступает по Закону. Почему же Меня убить хотите?»

20 Из толпы закричали: «В Тебя, верно, бес вселился! Кто хочет Тебя убить?»

21 «Я сделал одно дело в субботу, и вы до сих пор из-за этого никак в себя не придете, — ответил им Иисус. —

22 Моисей наказал вам совершать обрезание (это идет, впрочем, не от Моисея даже, а от патриархов), и вы, не задумываясь, совершаете его даже в субботу.

23 Почему же вам можно, во исполнение Закона Моисеева, в субботу обрезать ребенка, имея дело лишь с одной частью тела, а на Меня вы негодуете за исцеление всего человека в этот день?

24 Перестаньте судить о вещах поверхностно, судите, наконец, судом праведным!»

25 Иные из жителей Иерусалима, услышав такое, стали спрашивать: «Не Тот ли это, Кого хотят убить?

26 Смотрите, впрочем: вот Он открыто проповедует, и Ему не запрещают! Неужели власти решили, что Он и вправду Мессия?

27 Но мы ведь знаем, откуда пришел Он. Когда же придет Мессия, никто не будет знать, откуда Он».

28 Тогда Иисус, всё еще остававшийся в Храме, где учил Он, воскликнул: «Так вы знаете Меня и знаете, откуда Я?! Но Я не Сам по Себе пришел; есть Тот, Кто послал Меня, и это — истинный Бог. Но вы не знаете Его,

29 а Я знаю, потому что Я — от Него, это Он послал Меня».

30 Иные из толпы хотели схватить Его, но ни один человек не осмелился поднять на Него руку, потому что не пришел еще час Его.

31 А многие и поверили в Него. Такие говорили: «Неужели Мессия, приди Он теперь, большие бы совершил знамения, чем те, что сотворил Этот Человек?»

32 Толки народа о Нем дошли до фарисеев, и они вместе с первосвященниками велели храмовой страже схватить Его.

33 Тогда сказал Иисус: «Недолго уже с вами Мне быть, уйду Я скоро к Тому, Кто послал Меня.

34 Будете искать Меня, но не найдете [Меня]; и не сможете прийти туда, где буду Я».

35 Стали рассуждать тогда иудеи: «Куда собирается уйти Он, чтобы не нашли мы Его? Не к тем ли из наших, что среди греков живут в рассеянии? Или греков задумал учить?

36 Что Он имел в виду, когда говорил: „Искать Меня будете, но не найдете [Меня], туда, где буду Я, не сможете прийти“?»

37 В последний, самый великий день праздника Иисус стал среди Его окружавшей толпы и провозгласил: «Кто жаждет, ко Мне пусть придет и пьет!

38 У верующего в Меня, сказано в Писании, реки живой воды потекут из сердца».

39 Он говорил о Духе Святом, Которого получат поверившие в Него. Но Дух еще не был дан, потому что слава Иисуса не была еще явлена миру.

40 Иные из толпы, услышав слова Его, сказали: «Воистину Он пророк».

41 Другие говорили даже: «Это Мессия». Некоторые, однако, возражали: «Разве может Мессия прийти из Галилеи?

42 Не говорится ли в Писании, что потомком Давида будет Мессия, что из Вифлеема придет Он, из селения, где жил Давид?»

43 И раскололась толпа из-за противоречивых мнений о Нем.

44 Некоторые вознамерились было схватить Его, но никто всё же не поднял руку на Него.

45 Когда вернулись стражники к первосвященникам и фарисеям, те спросили их: «Что же не привели вы Его?»

46 «Никто еще и никогда не говорил так, как Этот Человек», — отвечали те.

47 «Неужели, — оборвали их фарисеи, — и вы дали обмануть себя?

48 Поверил ли в Него хоть один из старейшин или фарисеев?

49 А что до черни, ничего не понимающей в Законе, — проклята она».

50 Тут подал голос некто Никодим, один из тех фарисеев, что прежде приходил к Иисусу:

51 «Разрешает ли Закон наш осуждать человека, не выслушав сначала его и не разобравшись в том, что он сделал?»

52 «Ты что, тоже из Галилеи? — сказали ему в ответ. — Исследуй Писание и увидишь, что Пророк не придет из Галилеи». [[

53 И разошлись все по домам.

Chapter 7

1 AFTER these things Jesus travelled in Galilee; for he did not wish to travel in Judaea, because the Jews wanted to kill him.

2 Now the Jewish feast of the tabernacles was at hand.

3 And his brothers said to Jesus, Depart from here and go to Judaea, so that your disciples may see the works that you do.

4 For there is no man, who does anything in secret and yet wants it to become known. If you are doing these things, show yourself to the people.

5 For not even his own brothers believed in Jesus.

6 Jesus said to them, My time has not yet come; but your time is always ready.

7 The world cannot hate you; but it hates me, because I testify against it, that its works are evil.

8 You go up to this feast; I am not going just now to this feast, for my time is not yet come.

9 He said these things, and remained in Galilee.

10 But when his brothers had gone up to the feast, then he also went up, not openly, but as it were in secret.

11 The Jews were looking for him at the feast and said, Where is he?

12 And there was much murmuring among the people concerning him; for some said, He is good; and others said, No, but he just deceives the people.

13 But no man spoke openly about him, because of the fear of the Jews.

14 Now about the middle period of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple and taught.

15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How does this man know reading, when he has not been instructed?

16 Jesus answered and said, My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.

17 He who wills to do his will, he will understand if my teaching is from God, or if I am just speaking of my own accord.

18 He who speaks of his own accord seeks glory for himself; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him, he is true, and there is no deception in his heart.

19 Did not Moses give you the law? and yet no one of you obeys the law. Why do you want to kill me?

20 The people answered, saying, You are crazy; who wants to kill you?

21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and all of you marvel.

22 Moses gave you circumcision, not because it is from Moses, but because it is from the forefathers; and yet you circumcise a man on the sabbath.

23 So if a man is circumcised on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses may not be broken; yet you murmur at me, because I healed a whole man * on the sabbath day?

24 Do not judge by partiality, but judge a just judgment.

25 Then some of the men of Jerusalem were saying, Is not this the man whom they want to kill?

26 And yet he speaks openly, but they say nothing to him. Perhaps our elders have found out that he is the Christ?

27 Howbeit we know whence he comes; but when the Christ comes, no man will know whence he comes.

28 Jesus then lifted up his voice as he taught in the temple, and said, You know me, and you know whence I come; and yet I have not come of my own accord, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know.

29 But I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me.

30 So they wanted to seize him; and no man laid hands on him, because his time had not yet come.

31 But a great many of the people believed in him and said, When the Christ comes, why, will he do greater wonders than this man does?

32 The Pharisees heard the people talking about him; so they and the high priests sent soldiers to arrest him.

33 And Jesus said, I am with you just a short while, and I am going to him who sent me.

34 You will seek me, but you will not find me; and where I am you cannot come.

35 Then the Jews said among themselves, Where is he going, that we cannot find him? why, is he planning to go to the countries of the Gentiles, to teach the pagans?

36 What does this word mean which he said, You will seek me and you will not find me; and where I am you cannot come?

37 Now on the greatest day, which is the last day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out and said, If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.

38 Whoever believes in me, just as the scriptures have said, the rivers of living water shall flow from within him.

39 He said this concerning the Spirit, which they who believe in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

40 Many of the people who heard his words were saying, This man truly is a prophet.

41 Others were saying, He is the Christ; but others said, Is it possible that Christ should come from Galilee?

42 Does not the scripture say that Christ will come from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town of David?

43 So the people were divided because of him.

44 And there were some men among them, who wanted to seize him; but no man laid hands on him.

45 And the soldiers returned to the high priests and the Pharisees; and the priests said to them, Why did you not bring him?

46 The soldiers said to them, Never a man has spoken as this man speaks.

47 The Pharisees said to them, Why, have you also been deceived?

48 Why, have any of the leaders or of the Pharisees believed in him,

49 Except this cursed people, who do not know the law?

50 Nicodemus, one of them, who had come to Jesus at night, said to them,

51 Does our law convict a man, unless it first hears from him, and knows what he has done?

52 They answered and said to him, Why, are you also from Galilee? * Search and see that no prophet will rise up from Galilee.

53 So everyone went to his own house.

6 Иисус возразил: «Не пришел еще час Мой. Это вам любое время годится,	6 Jesus said to them, My time has not yet come; but your time is always ready.
7 ибо мир не может вас ненавидеть. А Меня ненавидит он, потому что Я говорю, что дела его злы.	7 The world cannot hate you; but it hates me, because I testify against it, that its works are evil.

14 Праздник уже прошел наполовину, когда Иисус появился в Храме и стал учить.	14 Now about the middle period of the feast, Jesus went up to the temple and taught.
15 «Откуда Он так знает Писание? — удивлялись иудеи. — Ведь Он не учился у раввинов».	15 And the Jews marvelled, saying, How does this man know reading, when he has not been instructed?
16 Им ответил Сам Иисус: «Учение Мое — не от Меня, но от Того, кто послал Меня.	16 Jesus answered and said, My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me.
17 Кто готов исполнять волю Божию, тот узнает, от Бога ли это учение, или от Себя Я говорю.	17 He who wills to do his will, he will understand if my teaching is from God, or if I am just speaking of my own accord.
18 Кто от себя говорит, для себя ищет славы. А кто о славе пославшего его заботится, тот искренен и нет у него обмана.	18 He who speaks of his own accord seeks glory for himself; but he who seeks the glory of him who sent him, he is true, and there is no deception in his heart.
19 Не дал ли Моисей Закон вам? Но никто из вас не поступает по Закону. Почему же Меня убить хотите?»	19 Did not Moses give you the law? and yet no one of you obeys the law. Why do you want to kill me?
20 Из толпы закричали: «В Тебя, верно, бес вселился! Кто хочет Тебя убить?»	20 The people answered, saying, You are crazy; who wants to kill you?
21 «Я сделал одно дело в субботу, и вы до сих пор из-за этого никак в себя не придете, — ответил им Иисус. —	21 Jesus answered and said to them, I have done one work, and all of you marvel.
22 Моисей наказал вам совершать обрезание (это идет, впрочем, не от Моисея даже, а от патриархов), и вы, не задумываясь, совершаете его даже в субботу.	22 Moses gave you circumcision, not because it is from Moses, but because it is from the forefathers; and yet you circumcise a man on the sabbath.
23 Почему же вам можно, во исполнение Закона Моисеева, в субботу обрезать ребенка, имея дело лишь с одной частью тела, а на Меня вы негодуете за исцеление всего человека в этот день?	23 So if a man is circumcised on the sabbath day, that the law of Moses may not be broken; yet you murmur at me, because I healed a whole man * on the sabbath day?
24 Перестаньте судить о вещах поверхностно, судите, наконец, судом праведным!»	24 Do not judge by partiality, but judge a just judgment.
25 Иные из жителей Иерусалима, услышав такое, стали спрашивать: «Не Тот ли это, Кого хотят убить?	25 Then some of the men of Jerusalem were saying, Is not this the man whom they want to kill?
26 Смотрите, впрочем: вот Он открыто проповедует, и Ему не запрещают! Неужели власти решили, что Он и вправду Мессия?	26 And yet he speaks openly, but they say nothing to him. Perhaps our elders have found out that he is the Christ?
27 Но мы ведь знаем, откуда пришел Он. Когда же придет Мессия, никто не будет знать, откуда Он».	27 Howbeit we know whence he comes; but when the Christ comes, no man will know whence he comes.
28 Тогда Иисус, всё еще остававшийся в Храме, где учил Он, воскликнул: «Так вы знаете Меня и знаете, откуда Я?! Но Я не Сам по Себе пришел; есть Тот, Кто послал Меня, и это — истинный Бог. Но вы не знаете Его,	28 Jesus then lifted up his voice as he taught in the temple, and said, You know me, and you know whence I come; and yet I have not come of my own accord, but he who sent me is true, whom you do not know.
29 а Я знаю, потому что Я — от Него, это Он послал Меня».	29 But I know him; because I am from him, and he sent me.
30 Иные из толпы хотели схватить Его, но ни один человек не осмелился поднять на Него руку, потому что не пришел еще час Его.	30 So they wanted to seize him; and no man laid hands on him, because his time had not yet come.
31 А многие и поверили в Него. Такие говорили: «Неужели Мессия, приди Он теперь, большие бы совершил знамения, чем те, что сотворил Этот Человек?»	31 But a great many of the people believed in him and said, When the Christ comes, why, will he do greater wonders than this man does?
32 Толки народа о Нем дошли до фарисеев, и они вместе с первосвященниками велели храмовой страже схватить Его.	32 The Pharisees heard the people talking about him; so they and the high priests sent soldiers to arrest him.
33 Тогда сказал Иисус: «Недолго уже с вами Мне быть, уйду Я скоро к Тому, Кто послал Меня.	33 And Jesus said, I am with you just a short while, and I am going to him who sent me.
34 Будете искать Меня, но не найдете [Меня]; и не сможете прийти туда, где буду Я».	34 You will seek me, but you will not find me; and where I am you cannot come.
35 Стали рассуждать тогда иудеи: «Куда собирается уйти Он, чтобы не нашли мы Его? Не к тем ли из наших, что среди греков живут в рассеянии? Или греков задумал учить?	35 Then the Jews said among themselves, Where is he going, that we cannot find him? why, is he planning to go to the countries of the Gentiles, to teach the pagans?
36 Что Он имел в виду, когда говорил: „Искать Меня будете, но не найдете [Меня], туда, где буду Я, не сможете прийти“?»	36 What does this word mean which he said, You will seek me and you will not find me; and where I am you cannot come?
37 В последний, самый великий день праздника Иисус стал среди Его окружавшей толпы и провозгласил: «Кто жаждет, ко Мне пусть придет и пьет!	37 Now on the greatest day, which is the last day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out and said, If any man is thirsty, let him come to me and drink.
38 У верующего в Меня, сказано в Писании, реки живой воды потекут из сердца».	38 Whoever believes in me, just as the scriptures have said, the rivers of living water shall flow from within him.
39 Он говорил о Духе Святом, Которого получат поверившие в Него. Но Дух еще не был дан, потому что слава Иисуса не была еще явлена миру.	39 He said this concerning the Spirit, which they who believe in him were to receive; for the Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.
40 Иные из толпы, услышав слова Его, сказали: «Воистину Он пророк».	40 Many of the people who heard his words were saying, This man truly is a prophet.
41 Другие говорили даже: «Это Мессия». Некоторые, однако, возражали: «Разве может Мессия прийти из Галилеи?	41 Others were saying, He is the Christ; but others said, Is it possible that Christ should come from Galilee?
42 Не говорится ли в Писании, что потомком Давида будет Мессия, что из Вифлеема придет Он, из селения, где жил Давид?»	42 Does not the scripture say that Christ will come from the seed of David, and from Bethlehem, the town of David?
43 И раскололась толпа из-за противоречивых мнений о Нем.	43 So the people were divided because of him.

46 «Никто еще и никогда не говорил так, как Этот Человек», — отвечали те.	46 The soldiers said to them, Never a man has spoken as this man speaks.
47 «Неужели, — оборвали их фарисеи, — и вы дали обмануть себя?	47 The Pharisees said to them, Why, have you also been deceived?
48 Поверил ли в Него хоть один из старейшин или фарисеев?	48 Why, have any of the leaders or of the Pharisees believed in him,
49 А что до черни, ничего не понимающей в Законе, — проклята она».	49 Except this cursed people, who do not know the law?
50 Тут подал голос некто Никодим, один из тех фарисеев, что прежде приходил к Иисусу:	50 Nicodemus, one of them, who had come to Jesus at night, said to them,
51 «Разрешает ли Закон наш осуждать человека, не выслушав сначала его и не разобравшись в том, что он сделал?»	51 Does our law convict a man, unless it first hears from him, and knows what he has done?
52 «Ты что, тоже из Галилеи? — сказали ему в ответ. — Исследуй Писание и увидишь, что Пророк не придет из Галилеи». [[	52 They answered and said to him, Why, are you also from Galilee? * Search and see that no prophet will rise up from Galilee.
53 И разошлись все по домам.	53 So everyone went to his own house.
