第11章

1 夏朔王耶賓、風聞此事、則遣人約馬頓王約八、與伸崙、押殺二王、

2 曁山地之北、基尼烈南、其間之平原陵谷、至多耳邊疆西隅列王、

3 自東至西西之迦南人、亞摩哩人、赫人、比哩洗人、居山之耶布士人、密士巴地、黑門山麓之希未人、

4 列王遂出、率衆如海濱之沙、不可勝數、車馬之多、亦難悉計。

5 列王咸集、建營於米倫水、攻以色列族。

6 耶和華諭約書亞曰、勿懼、詰朝此時、我將是衆付以色列族、死於爾前、爾當割其馬筋、焚其車輛。

7 約書亞率諸軍士、猝至米倫水攻敵。

8 耶和華以敵付於以色列族、遂擊之、追至西頓大邑、亦至蜜利弗馬音、及密士巴谷東隅、俱翦滅之、靡有孑遺。

9 約書亞伐之、循耶和華命、馬則割其筋、車則焚以火。

10 反旆取夏朔邑、刃擊其王、昔夏朔爲列國之首。

11 以色列族刃擊居民、翦滅其衆、凡有血氣者、靡有孑遺、遂焚夏朔以火。

12 約書亞取諸邑、與其王、以刃擊之、翦滅其衆、靡有孑遺、循耶和華僕摩西之命。

13 邑建於岡者、以色列族不焚、惟夏朔邑約書亞焚之。

14 諸邑貨財牲畜、以色列族取之、刃擊諸人、翦滅其衆、靡有孑遺。

15 昔耶和華諭其僕摩西、摩西傳命約書亞、約書亞遵行、所命俱行、不遺其一。〇

16 約書亞取其地四方、陵谷平原、爰及南隅、與坷山地、及以色列山谷。

17 自近西耳之夏朔至黑門山麓、利巴嫩谷之巴力伽得、約書亞久戰列王、擒而殺之。

19 自希未人基遍民而外、與以色列族修好者、無一邑焉、俱戰而得之。

20 蓋斯衆剛愎厥心、耶和華聽其然〔聽其然句或曰使之然〕、使與以色列族戰、而被翦滅、無少姑縱、循耶和華諭摩西之命。〇

21 是時約書亞翦滅山中之亞納人、卽猶大山以色列山之希伯崙、底必、亞拿伯、約書亞盡滅其邑與衆、

22 亞納人在以色列地無遺種、惟於迦薩、迦特、亞實突有之。

23 於是約書亞循耶和華所諭摩西之命、取四方之地、賜以色列族爲業、循其支派班列、而後息戰。

Chapter 11

1 And it came to pass,1961 when Jabin2985 king4428 of Hazor2674 had heard8085 those things, that he sent7971 to413 Jobab3103 king4428 of Madon,4068 and to413 the king4428 of Shimron,8110 and to413 the king4428 of Achshaph,407

2 And to413 the kings4428 that834 were on the north4480 6828 of the mountains,2022 and of the plains6160 south5045 of Chinneroth,3672 and in the valley,8219 and in the borders5299 of Dor1756 on the west,4480 3220

3 And to the Canaanite3669 on the east4480 4217 and on the west,4480 3220 and to the Amorite,567 and the Hittite,2850 and the Perizzite,6522 and the Jebusite2983 in the mountains,2022 and to the Hivite2340 under8478 Hermon2768 in the land776 of Mizpeh.4709

4 And they went out,3318 they1992 and all3605 their hosts4264 with5973 them, much7227 people,5971 even as the sand2344 that834 is upon5921 the sea3220 shore8193 in multitude,7230 with horses5483 and chariots7393 very3966 many.7227

5 And when all3605 these428 kings4428 were met together,3259 they came935 and pitched2583 together3162 at413 the waters4325 of Merom,4792 to fight3898 against5973 Israel.3478

6 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Joshua,3091 Be not408 afraid3372 because of4480 6440 them: for3588 tomorrow4279 about this2063 time6256 will I595 deliver them up5414 853 all3605 slain2491 before6440 Israel:3478 thou shalt hamstring6131 853 their horses,5483 and burn8313 their chariots4818 with fire.784

7 So Joshua3091 came,935 and all3605 the people5971 of war4421 with5973 him, against5921 them by5921 the waters4325 of Merom4792 suddenly;6597 and they fell5307 upon them.

8 And the LORD3068 delivered5414 them into the hand3027 of Israel,3478 who smote5221 them, and chased7291 them unto5704 great7227 Zidon,6721 and unto5704 Misrephoth-maim,4956 and unto5704 the valley1237 of Mizpeh4708 eastward;4217 and they smote5221 them, until5704 they left7604 them none1115 remaining.8300

9 And Joshua3091 did6213 unto them as834 the LORD3068 bade559 him: he hamstrung6131 853 their horses,5483 and burnt8313 their chariots4818 with fire.784

10 And Joshua3091 at that1931 time6256 turned back,7725 and took3920 853 Hazor,2674 and smote5221 the king4428 thereof with the sword:2719 for3588 Hazor2674 formerly6440 was the head7218 of all3605 those428 kingdoms.4467

11 And they smote5221 853 all3605 the souls5315 that834 were therein with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 utterly destroying2763 them: there was not3808 any3605 left3498 to breathe:5397 and he burnt8313 Hazor2674 with fire.784

12 And all3605 the cities5892 of those428 kings,4428 and all3605 the kings4428 of them, did Joshua3091 take,3920 and smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 and he utterly destroyed2763 them, as834 Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD3068 commanded.6680

13 But7535 as for the cities5892 that stood still5975 in5921 their strength,8510 Israel3478 burned8313 none3808 of them, save2108 853 Hazor2674 only;905 that did Joshua3091 burn.8313

14 And all3605 the spoil7998 of these428 cities,5892 and the cattle,929 the children1121 of Israel3478 took for a prey962 unto themselves; but7535 853 every3605 man120 they smote5221 with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 until5704 they had destroyed8045 them, neither3808 left7604 they any3605 to breathe.5397

15 As834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 853 Moses4872 his servant,5650 so3651 did Moses4872 command6680 853 Joshua,3091 and so3651 did6213 Joshua;3091 he left nothing undone3808 5493 1697 of all4480 3605 that834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 853 Moses.4872

16 So Joshua3091 took3947 853 all3605 that2063 land,776 the hills,2022 and all3605 the south country,5045 and all3605 the land776 of Goshen,1657 and the valley,8219 and the plain,6160 and the mountain2022 of Israel,3478 and the valley8219 of the same;

17 Even from4480 the mount2022 Halak,2510 that goeth up5927 to Seir,8165 even unto5704 Baal-gad1171 in the valley1237 of Lebanon3844 under8478 mount2022 Hermon:2768 and all3605 their kings4428 he took,3920 and smote5221 them, and slew4191 them.

18 Joshua3091 made6213 war4421 a long7227 time3117 with854 all3605 those428 kings.4428

19 There was1961 not3808 a city5892 that834 made peace7999 with413 the children1121 of Israel,3478 save1115 the Hivites2340 the inhabitants3427 of Gibeon:1391 853 all3605 other they took3947 in battle.4421

20 For3588 it was1961 of4480 853 the LORD3068 to harden2388 853 their hearts,3820 that they should come against7125 853 Israel3478 in battle,4421 that4616 he might destroy2763 them utterly, and that they might have1961 no1115 favor,8467 but3588 that4616 he might destroy8045 them, as834 the LORD3068 commanded6680 853 Moses.4872

21 And at that1931 time6256 came935 Joshua,3091 and cut off3772 853 the Anakims6062 from4480 the mountains,2022 from4480 Hebron,2275 from4480 Debir,1688 from4480 Anab,6024 and from all4480 3605 the mountains2022 of Judah,3063 and from all4480 3605 the mountains2022 of Israel:3478 Joshua3091 destroyed2763 them utterly with5973 their cities.5892

22 There was none3808 of the Anakims6062 left3498 in the land776 of the children1121 of Israel:3478 only7535 in Gaza,5804 in Gath,1661 and in Ashdod,795 there remained.7604

23 So Joshua3091 took3947 853 the whole3605 land,776 according to all3605 that834 the LORD3068 said1696 unto413 Moses;4872 and Joshua3091 gave5414 it for an inheritance5159 unto Israel3478 according to their divisions4256 by their tribes.7626 And the land776 rested8252 from war.4480 4421

6 And the LORD3068 said559 unto413 Joshua,3091 Be not408 afraid3372 because of4480 6440 them: for3588 tomorrow4279 about this2063 time6256 will I595 deliver them up5414 853 all3605 slain2491 before6440 Israel:3478 thou shalt hamstring6131 853 their horses,5483 and burn8313 their chariots4818 with fire.784

7 約書亞率諸軍士、猝至米倫水攻敵。

7 So Joshua3091 came,935 and all3605 the people5971 of war4421 with5973 him, against5921 them by5921 the waters4325 of Merom4792 suddenly;6597 and they fell5307 upon them.

8 耶和華以敵付於以色列族、遂擊之、追至西頓大邑、亦至蜜利弗馬音、及密士巴谷東隅、俱翦滅之、靡有孑遺。

8 And the LORD3068 delivered5414 them into the hand3027 of Israel,3478 who smote5221 them, and chased7291 them unto5704 great7227 Zidon,6721 and unto5704 Misrephoth-maim,4956 and unto5704 the valley1237 of Mizpeh4708 eastward;4217 and they smote5221 them, until5704 they left7604 them none1115 remaining.8300

9 約書亞伐之、循耶和華命、馬則割其筋、車則焚以火。

9 And Joshua3091 did6213 unto them as834 the LORD3068 bade559 him: he hamstrung6131 853 their horses,5483 and burnt8313 their chariots4818 with fire.784

10 反旆取夏朔邑、刃擊其王、昔夏朔爲列國之首。

10 And Joshua3091 at that1931 time6256 turned back,7725 and took3920 853 Hazor,2674 and smote5221 the king4428 thereof with the sword:2719 for3588 Hazor2674 formerly6440 was the head7218 of all3605 those428 kingdoms.4467

11 以色列族刃擊居民、翦滅其衆、凡有血氣者、靡有孑遺、遂焚夏朔以火。

11 And they smote5221 853 all3605 the souls5315 that834 were therein with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 utterly destroying2763 them: there was not3808 any3605 left3498 to breathe:5397 and he burnt8313 Hazor2674 with fire.784

12 約書亞取諸邑、與其王、以刃擊之、翦滅其衆、靡有孑遺、循耶和華僕摩西之命。

12 And all3605 the cities5892 of those428 kings,4428 and all3605 the kings4428 of them, did Joshua3091 take,3920 and smote5221 them with the edge6310 of the sword,2719 and he utterly destroyed2763 them, as834 Moses4872 the servant5650 of the LORD3068 commanded.6680

13 邑建於岡者、以色列族不焚、惟夏朔邑約書亞焚之。
