Isaiah

Chapter 6

1 In the year8141 that king4428 Uzziah5818 died4194 I saw7200 also the LORD136 sitting3427 on a throne,3678 high7311 and lifted5375 up, and his train7757 filled4390 the temple.1964

2 Above4605 it stood5975 the seraphim:8314 each259 one259 had six8337 wings;3671 with two8147 he covered3680 his face,6440 and with two8147 he covered3680 his feet,7272 and with two8147 he did fly.5774

3 And one cried7121 to another,2088 and said,559 Holy,6918 holy,6918 holy,6918 is the LORD3068 of hosts:6635 the whole3605 earth776 is full4393 of his glory.3519

4 And the posts520 of the door5592 moved5128 at the voice6963 of him that cried,7121 and the house1004 was filled4390 with smoke.6227

5 Then said559 I, Woe188 is me! for I am undone;1820 because3588 I am a man376 of unclean2931 lips,8193 and I dwell3427 in the middle8432 of a people5971 of unclean2931 lips:8193 for my eyes5869 have seen7200 the King,4428 the LORD3068 of hosts.6635

6 Then flew5774 one259 of the seraphim8314 to me, having a live7531 coal7531 in his hand,3027 which he had taken3947 with the tongs4457 from off5921 the altar:4196

7 And he laid5060 it on my mouth,6310 and said,559 See,2009 this2088 has touched5060 your lips;8193 and your iniquity5771 is taken5493 away,5493 and your sin2403 purged.3722

8 Also I heard8085 the voice6963 of the Lord,136 saying,559 Whom853 4310 shall I send,7971 and who4310 will go3212 for us? Then said559 I, Here2005 am I; send7971 me.

9 And he said,559 Go,3212 and tell559 this2088 people,5971 Hear8085 you indeed, but understand995 not; and see7200 you indeed, but perceive3045 not.

10 Make the heart3820 of this2088 people5971 fat,8082 and make their ears241 heavy,3513 and shut8173 their eyes;5869 lest6435 they see7200 with their eyes,5869 and hear8085 with their ears,241 and understand995 with their heart,3824 and convert,7725 and be healed.7495

11 Then said559 I, Lord,136 how5704 long?5704 And he answered,559 Until5704 the cities5892 be wasted7582 without369 inhabitant,3427 and the houses1004 without369 man,120 and the land127 be utterly desolate,8077

12 And the LORD3068 have removed7368 men120 far7368 away, and there be a great7227 forsaking5805 in the middle7130 of the land.776

13 But yet5750 in it shall be a tenth,6224 and it shall return,7725 and shall be eaten:1197 as a teil424 tree, and as an oak,437 whose834 substance4678 is in them, when834 they cast7995 their leaves: so the holy6944 seed2233 shall be the substance4678 thereof.

Chapter 6

1 IN the year that King Uzziah died I saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled his temple.

2 And above him stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.

3 And one called to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then I said, Woe is me, I am dismayed; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;

7 And he touched my mouth and said to me, Lo, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sins are forgiven.

8 And I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said to me, Go, and tell this people, You can hear indeed, but understand not; and you can see indeed, but do not perceive.

10 For the heart of this people is darkened and their ears are heavy and their eyes closed, so that they may not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted and be forgiven.

11 Then I said, How long, O LORD? And he said, Until the cities lie waste without inhabitants and the houses without men and the land be utterly desolate

12 And the LORD shall have cast off men far away and there shall be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 And they that remain in it shall be a tenth, and again they shall be burned and shall be made like the terebinth or like an oak which is fallen from its stump. The holy seed is the source thereof.
