Psalm 85

1 LORD, thou hast been favorable to thy land; thou hast brought back the captivity of Jacob.

2 Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin.

3 Thou hast taken away all thy wrath; thou hast withdrawn the fierceness of thine anger.

4 Restore us, O God our Saviour, and cause thine anger toward us to cease.

5 Be not angry with us for ever; hold not thine anger against all generations.

6 Restore us and revive us, that thy people may rejoice in thee.

7 Show us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.

8 We will hear what the LORD our God will speak; for he will speak peace to his people and to his saints, that they may not turn again to folly.

9 Surely his salvation is near them that reverence him; let his glory dwell in our land.

10 Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

11 Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven.

12 Yea, the LORD shall give his goodness; and the land shall yield its fruits.

13 And the righteous shall go before him; and he shall establish his ways upon the earth.

4 der du vormals hast all deinen Zorn3708 aufgehoben6565 und430 dich7725 gewendet von dem Grimm deines Zorns;

5 tröste uns, GOtt, unser Heiland, und laß ab von deiner Ungnade über uns!

6 Willst du denn ewiglich über uns zürnen und deinen Zorn gehen7725 lassen2421 immer für und für?

7 Willst du2617 uns3468 denn nicht wieder erquicken, daß sich7200 dein Volk über5414 dir freuen möge?

8 HErr3068, erzeige uns8085 deine Gnade und hilf uns7725!

9 Ach, daß ich hören sollte, das776 GOtt der HErr redet, daß er Frieden zusagte seinem Volk und seinen Heiligen, auf daß sie nicht auf eine Torheit geraten!

10 Doch ist571 ja7965 seine Hilfe nahe denen, die ihn fürchten, daß in unserm Lande Ehre wohne;

11 daß Güte und776 Treue571 einander begegnen, Gerechtigkeit6664 und Friede sich küssen;

12 daß Treue auf der Erde776 wachse, und3068 Gerechtigkeit vom Himmel schaue;
