Das erste Buch Mose (Genesis)

Kapitel 39

1 Joseph3130 ward hinab3381 in Ägypten4714 geführet; und Potiphar6318, ein ägyptischer4713 Mann, des Pharao6547 Kämmerer5631 und Hofmeister, kaufte7069 ihn von3027 den Ismaeliten3459, die3381 ihn hinabbrachten.

2 Und der HErr3068 war mit Joseph3130, daß er ein glückseliger Mann376 ward; und war in seines Herrn113, des Ägypters4713, Hause1004.

3 Und sein Herr113 sah7200, daß der HErr3068 mit ihm war; denn alles, was er tat6213, da gab6743 der HErr3068 Glück zu durch ihn3027,

4 also daß er Gnade2580 fand vor5869 seinem Herrn und sein Diener8334 ward4672. Der setzte5414 ihn3130 über6485 sein Haus1004, und alles, was er hatte3426, tat er unter seine Hände3027.

5 Und von der Zeit227 an, da er ihn3130 über6485 sein Haus1004 und alle seine Güter gesetzt hatte3426, segnete1288 der HErr3068 des Ägypters4713 Haus1004 um1558 Josephs willen, und war eitel Segen1293 des HErrn3068 in allem, was er hatte3426, zu Hause1004 und zu Felde7704.

6 Darum ließ5800 er3899 alles unter Josephs Händen3027, was er hatte; und er nahm sich3045 keines Dinges3972 an, weil er ihn3130 hatte, denn daß518 er aß398 und trank. Und Joseph3130 war schön8389 und hübsch von Angesicht4758.

7 Und es begab sich7901 nach310 dieser Geschichte1697, daß seines Herrn113 Weib802 ihre Augen5869 auf5375 Joseph3130 warf und sprach559: Schlafe bei mir!

8 Er weigerte sich‘s3985 aber und sprach559 zu ihr802: Siehe, mein Herr113 nimmt sich3045 nichts an vor mir, was im Hause1004 ist3426; und alles, was er hat, das hat er unter meine Hände3027 getan5414;

9 und hat nichts3808 so groß1419 in dem7451 Hause1004, das er vor mir verhohlen habe2820, ohne dich, indem du859 sein Weib802 bist. Wie834 sollt ich denn nun ein solch groß1419 Übel tun6213 und wider GOtt430 sündigen2398?

10 Und sie trieb solche Worte1696 gegen Joseph3130 täglich3117. Aber er gehorchte8085 ihr681 nicht, daß er nahe bei ihr schlief7901 noch3117 um sie wäre.

11 Es begab sich der Tage3117 einen, daß Joseph in das Haus1004 ging, sein Geschäft4399 zu6213 tun935, und war kein Mensch vom Gesinde582 des Hauses1004 dabei.

12 Und sie erwischte8610 ihn bei seinem Kleid899 und sprach559: Schlafe7901 bei mir! Aber er ließ5800 das Kleid899 in ihrer Hand3027 und floh5127 und lief3318 zum Hause hinaus2351.

13 Da sie nun sah7200, daß er sein Kleid899 in ihrer Hand3027 ließ5800 und hinaus2351 entfloh5127,

14 rief7121 sie559 dem Gesinde582 im Hause1004 und sprach559 zu ihnen: Sehet7200, er hat uns den ebräischen Mann hereingebracht, daß er uns zuschanden mache. Er kam935 zu mir herein935 und wollte bei mir schlafen7901; ich rief7121 aber mit lauter1419 Stimme6963.

15 Und da er hörete, daß ich ein Geschrei machte6963 und rief7121, da ließ5800 er sein7311 Kleid899 bei mir681 und floh5127 und lief3318 hinaus2351.

16 Und sie legte3240 sein Kleid899 neben sich681, bis sein Herr113 heim1004 kam935,

17 und sagte1696 zu ihm eben dieselben Worte1697 und sprach559: Der ebräische Knecht5650, den du uns hereingebracht hast, kam935 zu mir herein935 und wollte mich zuschanden machen.

18 Da ich aber ein Geschrei machte6963 und rief7121, da ließ5800 er sein7311 Kleid899 bei mir681 und floh5127 hinaus2351.

19 Als sein Herr113 hörete die Rede1697 seines Weibes802, die sie ihm sagte1696 und sprach559: Also hat8085 mir dein Knecht5650 getan6213, ward2734 er sehr zornig639.

20 Da4725 nahm3947 ihn3130 sein Herr113 und legte5414 ihn ins Gefängnis, da des Königs4428 Gefangene615 innen lagen631; und er lag allda im Gefängnis.

21 Aber der HErr3068 war mit ihm und neigte5186 seine Huld zu2580 ihm und ließ5414 ihn3130 Gnade2617 finden vor5869 dem Amtmann8269 über das Gefängnis,

22 daß6213 er ihm unter seine Hand3027 befahl5414 alle Gefangenen615 im Gefängnis, auf daß alles, was da geschah6213, durch ihn3130 geschehen mußte.

23 Denn der Amtmann8269 über das Gefängnis nahm sich3027 keines Dinges3972 an7200; denn der HErr3068 war mit Joseph, und was er tat6213, da gab6743 der HErr3068 Glück zu.

Genesis

Chapter 39

1 AND Joseph was brought down to Egypt; and Potiphar, an officer of Pharaoh, commander of the guard, an Egyptian, bought him from the Arabians who had brought him down there.

2 And the LORD was with Joseph, and he became a prosperous man in the house of his master, the Egyptian.

3 And his master saw that the LORD was with him, and that the LORD made all that he did to prosper under his hands.

4 And Joseph found favor in his sight, and served him; and he made him steward of his house, and all that he had he put in his charge.

5 And it came to pass from the time that he had made him steward of his house, and over all that he had, that the LORD blessed the Egyptian's house for Joseph's sake; and the blessing of the LORD was upon all that he had both in the house and in the field.

6 And he left all that he had in Joseph's charge; and he did not know what he had, except the food that he ate. And Joseph was very handsome and pleasant to look at.

7 And it came to pass after these things that his master's wife cast her eyes upon Joseph; and she said to him, Lie with me.

8 But he refused, and said to his master's wife, Behold, my master does not know what he has in the house, and he has put everything that he has in my charge;

9 There is no one greater in this house than I; neither has he kept back anything from me except yourself, because you are his wife; how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?

10 And it came to pass, as she spoke to him daily, he did not listen to her, to lie with her, or to be with her.

11 And it came to pass one day that Joseph went in to the house to do his work; and none of the men of the household were there in the house.

12 And she caught him by his garment, and said to him, Lie with me; but he left the garment in her hands, and fled, and got out to the street.

13 And it came to pass, when she saw that he had left his garment in her hands, and had fled out to the street,

14 She called to the men of her household, and said to them, See, he has brought in a Hebrew servant to us to disgrace us; he came in to me to lie with me, and I cried out with a loud voice;

15 And when he heard that I lifted up my voice and cried aloud, he left his garment in my hands, and fled, and got out to the street.

16 And she laid up his garment by her, until his master came home.

17 And she spoke to him according to these words, saying, The Hebrew servant whom you brought to us, came in to disgrace me;

18 But as I lifted up my voice and cried aloud, he left his garment in my hands, and fled, and got out to the street.

19 And when the master heard the words of his wife, which she spoke to him, saying, After this manner did your servant to me; his wrath was kindled.

20 And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined; and he remained there in the prison.

21 But the LORD was with Joseph, and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.

22 And the keeper of the prison intrusted to Joseph's care all the prisoners who were in the prison; and he was in charge of whatever they did there.

23 The keeper of the prison did not look to anything that was in Joseph's charge, because the LORD was with him, and whatever he did, the LORD made it to prosper.
