Kapitel 25

2 welche luden7121 das Volk5971 zum Opfer2077 ihrer Götter430. Und das Volk5971 aß398 und betete7812 ihre Götter430 an.

3 Und Israel3478 hängete sich6775 an den Baal Peor1187. Da ergrimmete des HErrn3068 Zorn639 über Israel3478,

4 und3068 sprach559 zu Mose4872: Nimm3947 alle Obersten7218 des Volks5971 und hänge3363 sie dem HErrn3068 an5048 die Sonne8121, auf daß der grimmige2740 Zorn639 des HErrn3068 von Israel3478 gewandt werde7725.

5 Und376 Mose4872 sprach559 zu den Richtern8199 Israels3478: Erwürge2026 ein376 jeglicher seine Leute582, die sich an den Baal-Peor1187 gehänget haben6775.

6 Und5869 siehe, ein Mann376 aus den Kindern1121 Israel3478 kam und brachte935 unter seine Brüder251 eine Midianitin4084 und ließ Mose4872 zusehen und die ganze Gemeine der Kinder1121 Israel3478, die da weineten vor5869 der Tür6607 der Hütte168 des Stifts4150.

7 Da das sah7200 der Sohn1121 Eleasars499, des Sohns Aarons175, des Priesters3548, stund er auf6965 aus der Gemeine und1121 nahm3947 einen Spieß7420 in8432 seine Hand3027,

8 und3478 ging935 dem israelitischen Manne376 nach310 hinein in413 den Hurenwinkel und3478 durchstach1856 sie beide8147, den israelitischen Mann376 und das Weib802, durch ihren Bauch6897. Da hörete die Plage4046 auf6113 von den Kindern1121 Israel3478.

9 Und es wurden getötet4191 in der Plage4046 vierundzwanzigtausend702.

10 Und der HErr3068 redete1696 mit Mose4872 und sprach559:

11 Pinehas6372, der Sohn1121 Eleasars499, des Sohns Aarons175, des Priesters3548, hat3615 meinen Grimm2534 von den Kindern1121 Israel3478 gewendet7725 durch seinen Eifer7065 um7725 mich, daß ich nicht in8432 meinem Eifer7068 die1121 Kinder1121 Israel3478 vertilgete.

12 Darum sage559: Siehe, ich gebe5414 ihm meinen Bund1285 des Friedens7965;

13 und er soll haben, und sein Same2233 nach310 ihm, den Bund1285 eines ewigen5769 Priestertums3550, darum daß834 er für seinen GOtt430 geeifert7065 und die Kinder1121 Israel3478 versöhnet3722 hat.

14 Der israelitische Mann376 aber, der erschlagen5221 ward5221 mit der Midianitin4084, hieß8034 Simri2174, der Sohn1121 Salus5543, ein Fürst5387 im Hause1004 des Vaters1 der Simeoniter8099.

15 Das midianitische4084 Weib802, das auch erschlagen ward5221, hieß8034 Kasbi, eine Tochter1323 Zurs6698, der ein Fürst7218 war eines Geschlechts523 unter den Midianitern4080.

16 Und der HErr3068 redete1696 mit Mose4872 und sprach559:

17 Tut6887 den Midianitern4084 Schaden und schlaget5221 sie;

18 denn sie haben5230 euch Schaden getan6887 mit1697 ihrer List5231, die sie euch gestellet haben1697 durch den Peor6465 und durch ihre Schwester269 Kasbi, die Tochter1323 des Fürsten5387 der Midianiter4080, die erschlagen5221 ist am Tage3117 der Plage4046 um1697 des Peors willen, und die Plage danach kam.

1 AND Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.

2 And they invited the people to the sacrifices offered to their gods; and the people did eat, and worshipped their gods.

3 And Israel joined himself to Baal-peor; and the anger of the LORD was kindled against the children of Israel.

4 And the LORD said to Moses, Take all the chiefs of the people and expose them before the LORD in the daylight that the fierce anger of the LORD may be turned away from the children of Israel.

5 And Moses said to the judges of Israel, Slay every one of you his men who have joined themselves to Baal-peor.

6 And, behold, one of the men of the children of Israel came to his brethren, and then he went in to a Midianite woman in the sight of Moses and in the sight of all the congregation of the children of Israel while they were weeping at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation.

7 And when Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose up from the midst of the congregation and took a spear in his hand;

8 And he went in after the man of Israel into the private chamber and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.

9 And those that died in the plague were twenty-four thousand.

10 Then the LORD spoke to Moses and said to him.

11 Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, has turned my wrath away from the children of Israel because he was moved with my zeal among them that I did not consume the children of Israel in my anger.

12 Therefore I said, Behold, I will give to him my covenant of peace;

13 And he shall have it and his sons after him, the covenant of an everlasting priesthood, because he was zealous for his God and made atonement for the children of Israel.

14 Now the name of the Israelite who was slain with the Midianite woman was Zimri, the son of Salu, a chief of a father's house of the tribe of Simeon.

15 And the name of the Midianite woman was Cozbi, the daughter of Zur; he was the chief of the people of his father's house in Midian.

16 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying,

17 Harass the Midianites and destroy them;

18 For they have distressed you with their treachery, wherewith they have plotted against you in the matter of Peor and in the matter of Cozbi, the daughter of a prince of Midian, their sister, who was slain in the day of the plague in the matter of Peor.
