Psalm 31

1 To the chief5329 Musician,5329 A Psalm4210 of David.1732 In you, O LORD,3068 do I put my trust;2620 let me never408 3808 be ashamed:954 deliver6403 me in your righteousness.6666

2 Bow5186 down5186 your ear241 to me; deliver5337 me speedily:4120 be you my strong4581 rock,6697 for an house1004 of defense4686 to save3467 me.

3 For you are my rock5553 and my fortress;4686 therefore for your name's8034 sake4616 lead5148 me, and guide5095 me.

4 Pull3318 me out of the net7568 that they have laid2934 privately2934 for me: for you are my strength.4581

5 Into your hand3027 I commit6485 my spirit:7307 you have redeemed6299 me, O LORD3068 God410 of truth.571

6 I have hated8130 them that regard8104 lying7723 vanities:1892 but I trust982 in the LORD.3068

7 I will be glad1523 and rejoice8055 in your mercy:2617 for you have considered7200 my trouble;6040 you have known3045 my soul5315 in adversities;6869

8 And have not shut5462 me up into the hand3027 of the enemy:341 you have set5975 my feet7272 in a large4800 room.4800

9 Have mercy2603 on me, O LORD,3068 for I am in trouble:6887 my eye5869 is consumed6244 with grief,3708 yes, my soul5315 and my belly.990

10 For my life2416 is spent3615 with grief,3015 and my years8141 with sighing:585 my strength3581 fails3782 because of my iniquity,5771 and my bones6106 are consumed.6244

11 I was a reproach2781 among all3605 my enemies,6887 but especially3966 among my neighbors,7934 and a fear6343 to my acquaintance:3045 they that did see7200 me without2351 fled5074 from me.

12 I am forgotten7911 as a dead4191 man out of mind:3820 I am like a broken6 vessel.3627

13 For I have heard8085 the slander1681 of many:7227 fear4032 was on every5437 side:5439 while they took counsel3245 together3162 against5921 me, they devised2161 to take3947 away my life.5315

14 But I trusted982 in you, O LORD:3068 I said,559 You are my God.430

15 My times6256 are in your hand:3027 deliver5337 me from the hand3027 of my enemies,341 and from them that persecute7291 me.

16 Make your face6440 to shine215 on your servant:5650 save3467 me for your mercies'2617 sake.

17 Let me not be ashamed,954 O LORD;3068 for I have called7121 on you: let the wicked7563 be ashamed,954 and let them be silent1826 in the grave.7585

18 Let the lying8267 lips8193 be put to silence;481 which speak1696 grievous6277 things proudly1346 and contemptuously937 against5921 the righteous.6662

19 Oh how4100 great7227 is your goodness,2898 which834 you have laid6845 up for them that fear3373 you; which you have worked6466 for them that trust2620 in you before5048 the sons1121 of men!120

20 You shall hide5641 them in the secret5643 of your presence6440 from the pride7407 of man:376 you shall keep them secretly6845 in a pavilion5521 from the strife7379 of tongues.3956

21 Blessed1288 be the LORD:3068 for he has showed me his marvelous6381 kindness2617 in a strong4692 city.5892

22 For I said559 in my haste,2648 I am cut1629 off from before5048 your eyes:5869 nevertheless403 you heard8085 the voice6963 of my supplications8469 when I cried7768 to you.

23 O love157 the LORD,3068 all3605 you his saints:2623 for the LORD3068 preserves5341 the faithful,539 and plentifully3499 rewards7999 the proud1346 doer.6213

24 Be of good courage,2388 and he shall strengthen553 your heart,3824 all3605 you that hope3176 in the LORD.3068

Psalm 31

1 IN thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in thy righteousness.

2 Incline thine ear to me and answer me speedily; be thou unto me the God, the helper, and the house of refuge; and save me,

3 For thou art my strength and my refuge; therefore for thy name's sake comfort me and guide me.

4 Pull me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me; for thou art my protector.

5 Into thy hand I commit my spirit; thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth.

6 I have hated them that observe false worship; but I trust in thee, O LORD.

7 I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy; for thou hast seen my humility; thou hast known my soul in adversities;

8 And thou hast not surrendered me into the hand of my enemies; thou hast established my feet in tranquility.

9 Have mercy upon me, O LORD, for I am in distress; mine eye is troubled with wrath, yea, my soul and my body.

10 For my life is spent with grief, and my years with sighing; my strength is weakened because of poverty, and my bones are shaken because of my enemies.

11 I have become a reproach to my neighbors and a dread to my acquaintances: they that saw me on the street fled from me.

12 I am forgotten as a dead man out of mind; I am like something given up for lost.

13 For I have heard of the complicity of many persons; while they connived together against me, they schemed to take away my life.

14 But I trusted in thee, O LORD; I said, Thou art my God, O LORD.

15 The times are in thy hand; deliver me from the hand of mine enemies and from them that persecute me.

16 Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; save me through thy mercies.

17 Let me not be ashamed, O LORD; for I have called upon thee; let the wicked be ashamed, and let them be silent in the grave.

18 Let the lips of the wicked be silent; for they speak falsely and disdainfully against the righteous.

19 Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that worship thee, which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!

20 Hide them in the citadel of thy presence from the tumult of men; with thy shadow guard them from contention.

21 Blessed be the LORD, for he has elected for himself the chosen ones in a strong city?

22 I said in my haste, I am lost from before thine eyes; nevertheless thou heardest the voice of my supplications when I cried unto thee.

23 O love the LORD, all you his righteous ones; for the LORD preserves the faithful, and rewards the wicked according to their works.

24 Be of good courage and he shall strengthen your heart, all you that trust in the LORD.
