Psalm 90

1 A Prayer8605 of Moses4872 the man376 of God.430 Lord,136 you have been1961 our dwelling4583 place in all generations.1755

2 Before2962 the mountains2022 were brought3205 forth,3205 or ever you had formed2342 the earth776 and the world,8398 even from everlasting5769 to everlasting,5769 you are God.410

3 You turn7725 man582 to destruction;1793 and say,559 Return,7725 you children1121 of men.120

4 For a thousand505 years8141 in your sight5869 are but as yesterday865 when3588 it is past,5674 and as a watch821 in the night.3915

5 You carry2229 them away as with a flood;2229 they are as a sleep:8142 in the morning1242 they are like grass2682 which grows2498 up.

6 In the morning1242 it flourishes,6692 and grows2498 up; in the evening6153 it is cut4135 down, and wither.3001

7 For we are consumed3615 by your anger,639 and by your wrath2534 are we troubled.926

8 You have set7896 our iniquities5771 before5048 you, our secret5956 sins in the light3974 of your countenance.6440

9 For all3605 our days3117 are passed6437 away in your wrath:5678 we spend3615 our years8141 as a tale1899 that is told.

10 The days3117 of our years8141 are three score7657 years8141 and ten; and if518 by reason of strength1369 they be fourscore8084 years,8141 yet is their strength7296 labor5999 and sorrow;205 for it is soon2440 cut1504 off, and we fly5774 away.

11 Who4310 knows3045 the power5797 of your anger?639 even according to your fear,3374 so is your wrath.5678

12 So3651 teach3045 us to number4487 our days,3117 that we may apply935 our hearts3824 to wisdom.2451

13 Return,7725 O LORD,3068 how5704 long?5704 and let it repent5162 you concerning5921 your servants.5650

14 O satisfy7646 us early1242 with your mercy;2617 that we may rejoice7442 and be glad8056 all3605 our days.3117

15 Make us glad8056 according to the days3117 wherein you have afflicted6031 us, and the years8141 wherein we have seen7200 evil.7451

16 Let your work6467 appear7200 to your servants,5650 and your glory1926 to their children.1121

17 And let the beauty5278 of the LORD3068 our God430 be on us: and establish3559 you the work4639 of our hands3027 on us; yes, the work4639 of our hands3027 establish3559 you it.

Psalm 90

1 LORD, thou hast been our dwelling place in all generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.

3 Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men.

4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past, and as a watch in the night.

5 The span of their life will be as a sleep; in the morning they are like grass which changes.

6 In the morning it flourishes and grows up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.

7 For we are consumed by thine anger, and by thy wrath are we troubled.

8 Thou hast set our iniquities before thee, the sins of our youth in the light of thy countenance.

9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath; we spend our years in emptiness.

10 The years of our lives are threescore and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet most of them are labor and sorrow; for life is soon cut off and we fly away.

11 Who knows the power of thine anger and the fear of thy wrath?

12 So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts to wisdom.

13 Return, O LORD. How long? Wouldst thou not comfort thy servants?

14 O satisfy us early with thy mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

15 Make us glad because our wickedness is dead, and the years wherein we have seen affliction.

16 Let thy work appear to thy servants, and thy glory to their children.

17 And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us; for the work of his hands made us, yea, he made us by the work of his hands.
