2 They speak1696 vanity7723 every376 one376 with his neighbor:7453 with flattering2513 lips8193 and with a double heart3820 do they speak.1696

3 The LORD3068 shall cut3772 off all3605 flattering2513 lips,8193 and the tongue3956 that speaks1696 proud1419 things:

4 Who834 have said,559 With our tongue3956 will we prevail;1396 our lips8193 are our own: who4310 is lord113 over us?

5 For the oppression7701 of the poor,6041 for the sighing603 of the needy,34 now6258 will I arise,6965 said559 the LORD;3068 I will set7896 him in safety3468 from him that puffs6315 at him.

6 The words565 of the LORD3068 are pure2889 words:565 as silver3701 tried6884 in a furnace5948 of earth,776 purified2212 seven7659 times.

7 You shall keep8104 them, O LORD,3068 you shall preserve5341 them from this2098 generation1755 for ever.5769

1 （大衛的詩，交與伶長。用第八調。）耶和華啊，求你幫助，因虔誠人斷絕了；世人中間的忠信人沒有了。

2 人人向鄰居說空話［vanity］；他們說話，是奉承的嘴唇［flattering lips］，心口不一。

3 凡奉承的［flattering］嘴唇和狂傲［proud］的舌頭，耶和華必要剪除。

4 他們曾說：我們必能以舌頭得勝；我們的嘴唇是我們自己的，誰能作我們的主呢？

5 耶和華說：因為困苦人受欺壓［oppression］和貧窮人的歎息，我現在要起來，把他安置在他所切慕的穩妥之地。

6 耶和華的言語是純淨的言語，如同銀子在泥爐中煉過七次。

7 耶和華啊，你必保全它們［Thou shalt keep them］，自這世代起你必保守它們，直到永遠［thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever］。

8 下流人在世人中升高，就有惡人到處行走［walk］。
