Isaiah

Chapter 6

1 IN the year that King Uzziah died I saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up, and his train filled his temple.

2 And above him stood the seraphim; each one had six wings; with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he did fly.

3 And one called to another, and said, Holy, holy, holy, is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory.

4 And the posts of the door shook at the voice of him who called, and the house was filled with smoke.

5 Then I said, Woe is me, I am dismayed; for I am a man of unclean lips, and I dwell among a people of unclean lips; for my eyes have seen the King, the LORD of hosts.

6 Then one of the seraphim flew to me, having a live coal in his hand, which he had taken with the tongs from off the altar;

7 And he touched my mouth and said to me, Lo, this has touched your lips; your iniquity is taken away, and your sins are forgiven.

8 And I heard the voice of the LORD, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.

9 And he said to me, Go, and tell this people, You can hear indeed, but understand not; and you can see indeed, but do not perceive.

10 For the heart of this people is darkened and their ears are heavy and their eyes closed, so that they may not see with their eyes and hear with their ears and understand with their heart and be converted and be forgiven.

11 Then I said, How long, O LORD? And he said, Until the cities lie waste without inhabitants and the houses without men and the land be utterly desolate

12 And the LORD shall have cast off men far away and there shall be a great forsaking in the midst of the land.

13 And they that remain in it shall be a tenth, and again they shall be burned and shall be made like the terebinth or like an oak which is fallen from its stump. The holy seed is the source thereof.

1 當烏西雅王駕崩［died］的那年，我又［also］見主坐在高高的寶座上，他的衣服垂下，遮滿聖殿。

2 其上有撒拉弗侍立─各有六個翅膀：用兩個翅膀遮臉，兩個翅膀遮腳，兩個翅膀飛翔。

3 彼此呼喊說：聖哉、聖哉、聖哉，大軍之耶和華；他的榮光充滿全地。

4 因呼喊者的聲音，門框震動［posts of the door moved］，殿充滿了煙雲。

5 那時我說：「禍哉。我滅亡了；因為我是嘴唇不潔的人，又住在嘴唇不潔的民中。因［for］我眼見君王［King］─大軍之耶和華。」

6 就［Then］有一撒拉弗飛到我跟前，手裏拿著紅炭，是用火剪從壇上取下來的；

7 他［he］將炭沾在我口上［upon my mouth］，說：「看哪，這炭沾了你的嘴；你的罪孽便除掉，你的罪惡就赦免了。」

8 我又聽見主的聲音說：「我可以差遣誰、並且［and］誰肯為我們去呢？」我便［Then］說：「我在這裏；請差遣我。」

9 他說：「你去告訴這百姓說：你們聽是實在［indeed］聽見，卻不明白；看是實在［indeed］看見，卻不曉得。

10 要使這百姓心蒙脂油，耳朵發沉，眼睛閉著［shut］；恐怕眼睛看見，耳朵聽見，心裏明白，歸正［convert］過來，便得醫治。」

11 我就說：「主啊，這到幾時為止呢？」他說：直到城邑荒涼，無人居住，房屋空閒無人，地土盡是［utterly］荒涼，

12 並且耶和華將人遷到遠方，在這境內就［and］大有撇棄的事［great forsaking］。

13 然而境內剩下的人還有十分之一［But yet in it shall be a tenth］，這地仍要復貌［and it shall return］，且被吃用［and shall be eaten］；像椴樹［teil tree］、它們的葉子雖然散盡［they cast their leaves］，樹樁［substance］卻仍存留；這聖潔的種類在國中也是如此。
